Ringdoll Grown Dolls, thread #9

Anyone know when they'll release Lan Wangji? I'm curious.

 

Maybe clothing that Ringdoll makes that are specific for the body? I'm sure some expensive brands might do custom sizing. Maybe I should start doing actual doll commissions at some point lol. XD I'm usually making my own if I have specific things in mind so I never gave the sizing problem.

 

I haven't seen anything about a release date yet.

 

I recently bought some clothes and shoes for him on etsy, just make sure you have a picture with his measurements saved for reference; he does share measurements or similar measurements to dolls from other brands, mainly soom (if I remember correctly). There is a ton of nice clothes on etsy than can fit him, but it can get expensive
You can also find some on Taobao if you know how to use it or use a proxy, I haven’t been brave enough to try this option yet though.

 

Where are your other boys from? It might be helpful to compare companies. There are a few different 75 CM boys out there. Since he's a 75 cm boy, things made for a 70cm boy are going to be too small in general.
I think he's close to soom idealian in size, so you might be able to find clothes that will fit him that are marketed as fitting that.

 

My other tall kid (75cm) is an old Doll Family A. Isn’t Hua Cheng 77cm though? That makes him taller ^^;;

My problem was that I didn’t see any clothing ringdoll made for that size body…the largest clothing they have still comes to just his shins and leaves his ankles out. I’ll have to keep an eye to see if they come out with something new!

I bet it’ll be expensive…I’ll check etsy. Maybe the problem was I was looking right after he came out and that was too soon for people to have made stuff

 

Xie Lian is on the RGM-4 body! I may be in trouble!

 

Haah, that price... it's worse than I thought. I'm upset that I'm missing him, but I really don't have the funds to get him... Ringdoll, why must you do this!!!

 

If you check the listing for the RGM5 body that Hua Cheng is on, it's listed as 75cm, and in his promo images, he's listed as 75. Their listings aren't always the most accurate.

It looks like maybe he's a slightly different sculpt too. The pictures/ listing say RGM96SP, and XL is just RGM96

 

Yeah, I think you're right. What I assume is a slight change to the lips so he has a little more of a smile, but they could have changed other things in the sculpt too.

I know I'd regret it if I didn't get the accessories, but 1k USD after shipping is too much for me. Especially right now. I'm upset that I have to pass, but there's really no other option, sigh...

 

That just made me measure mine because I don’t want to tell people he’s taller than he is. He’s 77cm. Maybe he’s on a special version of the bod? Idk.

I’m glad you noticed that, because it was driving me crazy! He’s so the same but different. It’s the eyes that really looked different to me, but then I looked at original XL and it looked like his faceup was designed to make his eyes look more heavy lidded so I was second guessing myself.

Yeah even with the early ordering discount and the discount for having ordered one of the other ones before, that accessories package adds so much! It's kind of frustrating that we can't just order the outfit and the combo package since the combo package is separate anyway. At least if we could do that it'd be something. And the dealers that have free shipping seem to have a max 6 month layaway, so that's not really an option either

 

Yeah, I went through Clover Singing for Hua Cheng, but even free shipping can't tempt me. My Dad also made a remark that if he finds out I'm spending my very limited college income on dolls he'll be pissed, soooo... probably no.

Agreed. Honestly, even more than the outfit, I just want the new head. I love how soft his new faceup looks, and would personally trade it out for my current Xie Lian's face. I'm fine with making my own outfits so I don't mind missing out on the new one (or so I tell myself), but something about his faceup just lures me. You're probably right about the pierced ears though. Just being able to buy the face, and MAYBE the wig and hair accessories would make me the happiest guy ever, but I'm guessing Ringdoll won't go for that, haha. I could email to check, but I doubt there's much of a point.

 

He is very pretty and I do agree with you guys that he does look different somehow,
I feel like it’s the eyes, but I don’t know.
He is expensive so I will buy him on layaway, hopefully Lan Zhan will not be the one released after him, cause I really want him too.
We’ll see how layaway with Ringdoll goes, I’ve only bought a doll on layaway from New Clover Singing.

 

I'm happy for you that you'll be grabbing him! You'll have to share lots of pictures so the rest of us can live vicariously through you.

I tried to pass it up but I know I will be beating myself up cause of it later when I have to pay the after market price for him, like I did with my MDZS bjds (to be fair, I wasn’t into bjds when those first came out though). My wallet will surely take a hit, but I cannot control my impulses

My Lu Xun is 77cm. And my Dracula 2.0 is 76 (he has a shorter head than Li Xun).
I think most of the RGMbody-5 boys are probably 77, though.

 

I am hoping for you! And for me a bit so i have time to save for LWJ. XD

 

Yeah i kind of just want the new head/ faceup too, but it's not worth the hassle :/
