Can anyone with Guo Jia potentially let me know his head size for a wig in cm? I’m getting him for Christmas (already know because my mom needed help with ordering, haha) and I’m commissioning his wig now. I’m pretty sure 20-21 cm is right, but 22-23 cm is also an option.

If anyone’s curious, I’m making him into Shinazugawa Sanemi from Demon Slayer. Originally I planned on making him into Tanjiro, but tbh I don’t really like Tanjiro that much and mostly just wanted to make him to match with Zenitsu. Instead, Giyuu is getting Sanemi.

It is probably a 8-9 inch wig? I would go for the 20cm one.

 

I agree with Qianna, I'd go with 20, the 8-9" wigs from Ringdoll are always on the large size for the grown head.

 

I requested the 20-21 inch wig! I’m so excited. I’m redoing my Giyuu faceup, which is the first BJD faceup I ever did, to prepare.

 

Considering getting a Zhao Yun for a character... can anyone in here let me know if there's any other body alternatives out there that would make him slightly shorter? Like in the 70-75cm range maybe

 

Ringdoll does has other bodies that are shorter (primarily the ones you can find right now are RGM-03 and RGM-04), but I'm not sure how Zhao Yun would look on those bodies just because the RGM-05 heads are typically larger, so he may look a little bobble headed on the shorter bodies. RGM-03 would probably be a safer bet, as it's between the height of RGM-05 and RGM-04 at about 71 cm with head.

They might not be willing to switch the head and body, so that's something to be aware of. There are some sculpts they won't sell separately or change the configuration of, so you'd want to ask before starting your order!
There are a lot of 70-73cm bodies out there from various companies though! You'll want to double check the neck measurements to be sure the head will fit correctly.

 

That's a good point! I was assuming CatWedding was going to purchase the doll and the body and then resell the RGM-05 body, which is kind of silly now that I think about it, haha. I agree, definitely ask, they may also be able to offer insight on if the head would look right on the body or not.

 

Ohh definitely good points! I had thought to either ask for a switch or get them separately secondhand. How should I go about asking that, though? I had been planning to get him through Alice's Collections and never had to do that before.

 

You can just email customer service! They're very responsive and helpful. My mom, who's buying a doll for me, actually commented to me today that she was amazed by how friendly their customer service is! You may be able to find them secondhand, but I think that Zhao Yun is relatively new, so he may not be on the secondary market too much yet. Plus if they don't sell his head alone then you may only find the head with the RGM-5 body. You may have some luck trading the RGM-5 body for RGM-3 though, since I think RGM-5 is typically more desirable seeing as it's newer.

 

I see! In the end after looking through pictures the RGM-5 body might fit my character more after all, so I might get that one and make future dolls that I plan to have around him a little taller instead once I get to those, but thanks a lot for the help here!!

 

You can email Alice's collections and they'll ask on your behalf! I did that when I was hoping to get Ozhu's head separately, since i didn't want the RGM-4 body, which is also how I know that there are some dolls Ringdoll won't sell separately :/
