Is the Hua Cheng tattoo looking like this?

 

That's so weird!! Yeah I won't be putting them on mine. I also probably won't paint on my own because I'd definitely mess that up and make it wonky. I might paint/draw them on mesh fabric or something that's the same colour as his skin to wrap around him for photos though

 

They haven't shown what the decals for that will look like yet, as far as I've seen. They didn't show Xie Lian's shackles either, just said he would come with sheets for them.

 

I have a feeling that this is the one they mean, but without photos I guess we have no idea

 

They've been pulling from the donghua for the designs, so i'm guessing they'll go with the design in that as opposed to the one by Starember. The glimpses of the cursed shackles in the donghua do look kind of like the decals, but they never show them in full so it's hard to say. You can see it a bit in the episode in Puqi Shrine (I happened to be partway through this one to get a screenshot to check actually xD)

 

I am a big fan of SE's design so I hope its the manhua one. I'm just throwing my dice given the license restrictions RD had with TGCF that there's a chance it might be neither or a modified version of the donghua design. I may be very wrong too

 

Have to admit, Xie Lian's wig is an absolute pain to put on. I'm constantly worrying about messing up the styling when putting it on, and I've had to snip stray hairs before. Honestly considering having a new custom wig made for him that may be easier to deal with. It's still looking clean for the most part because of some careful trimming of unruly hair, but I hate having to constantly worry about it whenever I touch it! Hopefully Hua Cheng's won't be as bad, since the only really styled part should be the braid.

 

Has anyone seen their new doll, Qing Nian? He looks super pretty! I wish we could get his crown separately. As pretty as his face is, it won't work for any characters I want to make. His outfit also looks like it's made form the same materials as the one for Qing Yin, who doesn't seem to be on their site anymore. I didn't think he was a limited doll, so I'm surprised he's not listed anymore!

 

Oh, I did see him! He's so beautiful! He's one of the few OC dolls I've considered, but with Hua Cheng, I just can't do it. I love the blue eyeshadow, though.

 

Yes!! He's gorgeous! I have a weak spot for that kind of hair too; long and platinum blonde/silver/white. Because of that I really wish all companies sold their wigs separately!! His face it beautiful too but yeah it wouldn't fit any characters that I have in mind

 

Same with the wig separately... though, they may. When I needed a replacement for my XL wig, I emailed them, and was able to buy it (though it was pricy). You can try it with him if you want? Not sure if they'll go for it, but it's worth a try!

 

And here I was wondering why the Ringsoll thread had been quiet, it seems I misses the last one getting full and discussion transfering to #9 already

 

What do y'all think is the chance of Ringdoll producing a Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu? It's by far the least popular series, but I'm really hoping to get them. I wouldn't mind getting blank dolls and making my own, but I'd really prefer not to go through all that effort just for them to release a real SQQ and LBH a few months later. For now, I'm tiding myself over by making custom playline dolls of them, but I'd much prefer a BJD version. And if they're unlikely to get dolls, what sculpts do y'all think would be best? I prefer to stick to Ringdoll and Loongsoul since those brands are super compatible, but I'd be open to other brands if they have great sculpts for them.

 

I think it's pretty unlikely we'll ever get official dolls for Bingqiu or Moshang, sadly. It's not the most popular series, so it just has the least amount of merch produced in general, and BJD are still a fairly niche segment for merch. If they did make any, I'd assume given the success they had with Wangxian and Hualian, it'd be likely that Ringdoll would get the license again.

 

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, since it's so unpopular. But I also had a tiny bit of hope that Ringdoll would like to complete the trifecta. Oh, well... guess I'm onto searching for good sculpts for them. Now that you bring up Moshang, I want them too... guess I'll be searching for four potential sculpts!

 

I kind of accepted that even if they *do* make Bignqiu, they're very unlikely to make Moshang, so I'm making my own when I can figure out a sculpt I like well enough for SQH that's the right height xD

 

Oh yeah, Moshang is almost impossible. Bingqiu gets a tiny bit of merch, but Moshang hasn't gotten anything, except Shang Qinghua got one Minidoll plush I think? I'm not as worried about a SQH sculpt as a Mobei-Jun one, since I know a lot of art depict him as blue/grey. The closest thing I'm betting I'll get is a white doll that I'd blush with blue, since I wouldn't want a super bright blue.

 

I've only seen fanmade minidolls for either of them ><
And yeah that's what I'm doing for my MBJ, though I might do a very very light dye first and then go in with blushing. Finding a face sculpt I like that's the right size for SQH is what's giving me the most trouble! Of course, I also ordered the doll I'm using for MBJ before Hua Cheng came out, and Hua Cheng is going to end up taller, which throws off my plans because I didn't think they'd push the height difference for him and Xie Lian so much, so was guessing if they made one for him, it'd be around 73 cm not almost 80! So I'll need to find another place to display them or that will bother me lol

 

I'd love to see what you do with MBJ! I'd be scared to dye him, so I think blushing with blue and fading it around the body would be my best bet. Just need to find a nice mousy face and short body, haha. I'd almost think about using one of the Ringdoll "teen" bodies, but I'd also worry that he would be too short. It's going to kick my wallet in the face to eventually get four blank dolls, but it'll be worth it to make the Scumvillain guys, since I love the series as much as TGCF. Oddly, I don't care for MDZS much, so I'm not too upset about missing those dolls.

 

I haven't decide if I'll dye him or not because I'm scared to try it too, and it's hard trying to figure out the right tone to go for >< I have an air brush so I can try just using that and pastels, but striking the right shade of blue seems tricky! I've got a couple months left on my layaway to figure it out!
I did think of Decree Dog for SQH actually, but I'm not sure about his expression. That's the height I'm looking for actually xD I'm not a fan of the Ringdoll teen body though, especially not for him. It's too muscled, so I'd probably make a hybrid with one that doesn't have such marked washboard abs lol
And I'm kind of the same way with MDZS. I'm also not a fan of the face up for WWX, but LWJ is pretty! I just don't feel the need to own either the official BJD for them or to make my own.
