Ringdoll Grown Dolls, thread #9

Looks like it's a special version of his usual form, from this post. Maybe more inspired by the manhua, given the way his hat looks. Which means I'm going to cry because I love the art for the manhua T_T

 

I'm not gonna lie, he's way cuter than mine not fair, Ringdoll, not fair...

I saw that tweet today from Ringdoll, and... my heart bleeds... I love the outfit and how beautiful that new version of Xie Lian looks, but I'm saving up for a Dollits body (they announced a sale for January and they only sell once a year, so...). Please, Ringdoll... wait a bit!
Btw, I expected a new Hua Cheng because there were already two versions of Xie Lian...

 

Yeah I'm kind of surprised they haven't released another Hua Cheng too. I'm really surprised they haven't made his San Lang form

They posted on facebook that he releases tomorrow That was like....no warning at all practically!

 

Just saw the tweet about the release... I agree, it's.... erm... shocking?
It IS shocking for my wallet at least. However, I'm expecting (hoping more likely) that this set won't be over $700 like the one before, because it might not have too many accessories....(?)

 

I'm telling myself it's definitely going to be like 1k so i don't try to talk myself into starting another layaway for him xD

 

Maybe the reason they decided for little warning is because the ordering period will be super long?

 

Great, now I want to exchange my Xie Lian doll (I never really liked the design of the first version. Nevertheless, I ordered it for my Hua Cheng. ) for this beautiful new one (Manhua version).

Couldn't Ringdoll have released this version straight away?! Why does RD do this?!
Please RD stop it, I don't need to rebulid 'The Cave of Ten Thousand Gods' in my home with all the new Xie Lian doll releases.
I'm afraid there will be a new Hua Cheng (Manhua Version), too.

I just hope that they don't release another comic version of the 'Mo Dao Zu Shi' series alongside the new animation dolls. Although these have only just been released.
But at the moment anything seems to be possible at Ringdoll.
Please excuse my whining, but this is really annoying me right now.

 

It *is* kind of frustrating. And from the sounds of things his Crown Prince version hasn't even fulfilled shipping yet? Like please Ringdoll, slow down!

Now I wonder if they'll release a manhua version of Hua Cheng too :/

 

I do feel lucky that I think I like the original version a little more than this one because of the softer look of the donghua version, but I think this one is super pretty as well and would want it if I could have it. If they made a manhua Hua Cheng, though, I'd be done because I prefer his manhua design. Especially if they did one of his alternate outfits from the manhua, like the sleeveless one from Ghost City.

It's pretty weird that they're rapid firing these releases though, I know the donghua is releasing season two so hype is high but you'd think they'd want to leave a little space so people have the money to buy every version. Most fans won't be able to drop 1000 USD on a new Xie Lian every few months, but may potentially budget for one a year!

 

When I saw Fangxin my heart jumped... and what to say when I saw the official photos. I have the first version and almost finished Dianxia's layaway.
It's unfair that they release him without prior notice!!! Especially since they released the prince version only 4 months ago
I hope some financial miracle happens to my economy and I can afford to bring him home

 

After this new Xie Lian (Comic Version) doll release announcement, I'm glad I didn't go for his 'His Highness Who Pleased the Gods' version after all.
This 'Fangxin' version is really beautiful. I'm thinking about buying it. And maybe sell my first Xie Lian version?!? Umm, I'm not sure yet...

 

I really love the ones I got but that new Xie Lian is just criminal, it's just too unfair how pretty he is .... it's like @Alex Secord Designs says, a fan would like to have the chance to get every version or at least most of them. Personally, I think it is a bad business strategy to release one after another when people have not finished paying for the previous one. I don't think they should be carried away by the hype of the Donghua, the fans were there before the release of the 1st and 2nd season, we are gonna stay for a while especially if there is good quality merch like that.

Now thanks to this logic, I'm going to start saving for Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu respectively, if they would be so kind as to please those of us in the SAVE fandom as well Because there is no way I'm gonna miss those two.

 

You can have two more Xie Lians and one more of each of the MDZS boys, but no SVSSS.

Definitely shouldn't get carried away by the hype of the donghua. Danmei fans are nothing if not resilient. I mean obviously SVSSS, we're still here after they've given us pretty much nothing. TGCF will stay big, and if anything, fans may be more willing to shell money out when we don't have a stream of new content to cope.

 

If they ever do release svsss dolls, i am dragging every single scummie i know into this hobby with me, kicking and screaming xD

 

He's up! His hat and Fangxin are sold separately, but if you don't care about those, the doll and his outfit are about $600, which is less than what his original version was (though that did come with his hat and an extra set of hands).

 

Huh, that's a surprisingly fair price! Though maybe it's just my Ringdoll stockholm syndrome talking.

Anyone else a little surprised that this doll still has brown eyes? Since typically manhua Xie Lian is drawn with greenish eyes, and most official merch of the manhua reflects that (such as the Minidoll plushes, which have brown eyes for donghua Xie Lian and green for manhua Xie Lian).
