Sounds great and it would be awesome to see photos when you do get them

I would have posted something yesterday but I am having some difficulty with the image hosting I am using preventing me from posting the images here... So I need to investigata if there's any alternative place to use for photos now where I can acess the image link.

No problem, you're not bothering me at all. I have never ordered a fullset so unfortuantely I can't give any answers to the total weight. What I would suggest is to maybe send a message directly to Ringdoll and ask them what the weight is, also maybe confirm if they use the standard shipping box or something larger for a fullset doll to avoid surprises? It's been a few years since I was last in contact with them but they have always veen very helpful and friendly.

The fullset will depend on the specific doll's outfit and accessories. Hua Cheng for example, has metal bracers and accessories instead of resin, so he's heavier than other full sets that don't come with many accessories.

Are you using a shopping service for Taobao, like Bhiner or parcel up, etc, or the Taobao international page? Ringdoll does have an international website you can purchase from that will show the shipping cost for the specific doll you're ordering so you don't need to do the guesswork of measuring and weighing you would with Taobao, and the prices are the same.

 

I am planning to buy directly from taobao. I just need the weight and measurements cause I will be using a freight forwarder to ship my dolls. It's actually way cheaper than buying from their international website. But yeah, I guess the accessories and outfit will greatly affect the weight. Thanks.

 

I did figure it out so these are the guys. Old photo but due to err "reasons" (hashtag latest photostory explains it all ) I couldn't really get a new good photo of both of them at this point in time

 

What jointed hands do y'all like for your RGM 4/RGM 3 boys? I really want jointed hands, but the Ringdoll ones supposedly only work for RGM 5. I don't care if they're PVC or resin, as long as they look good in size and have a relatively close color match (I have three normal skin boys and one milk skin- the milk skin one I'm more concerned about...)

 

Bumping this thread to ask if there are any recommendations/other pics? I'd also like to see the DF-H hands on RGM-3 if possible. I'm also looking to get hands for my RGM-3 and RGM-4, but it's hard to tell which hands would work. I couldn't find the Doll Legend hands being sold.

I suddenly got a text from DHL today saying that a package is on it's way. Couldn't remember anything I ordered so checked Ringdoll on the off chance I was lucky and wow! My Ashford 3.0 is coming today! I didn't expect him until June!

Unboxing my Ashford 3.0 fullset. Sorry about my messy bed I love him! His face up is gorgeous. The eyebrows are ever so slightly darker than the company pictures, but nothing noticeable unless you scrutinize him a lot and it could just be the terrible lighting in my bedroom. I'll try to get some natural light shots of him this weekend. His outfit is stunning although I sometimes wish these complex outfits came with instructions lol. I ordered him on 11/29/2023 and he arrived on 4/9/2024 so about 3.5 months total. Overall, I'm 1000% satisfied and so, so happy he's home!

Ashford is very firmly on my wishlist, he's such a lovely sculpt.

 

Thank you! He's so big! I didn't realize just how tall 77cm is until he was standing next to my other SDs. His fancy outfit was half the reason I wanted him, that and his cute pointed ears. And his slight smile, and... okay there were a lot of reasons XD

 

Oh I forgot that version is on the RGM-05. What's the poseability like?

 

So far his legs are a little stiff, but I haven't tested him much aside from standing up and sitting. I'll give a more full review once I have some time.

I have one doll on a version 3 body and one on a version 2, but I have been curious about the RGM-05 bodies.

 

I've personally found the rgm5 body to be pretty unstable, at least without wiring (mine is from before they added that to all of them). I don't trust him on a saddle stand because he topples over and fell out of my cabinet before. It's a very top heavy body.

 

Really? I feel like I trust my RGM 5 (Hua Cheng) more than my other bodies. Because he's so heavy it feels like he's steady on his feet. I have the RGM 5 specific stand though, I definitely wouldn't trust him on the normal Ringdoll saddle stand, and a general saddle stand on Amazon broke when I tried him on it.

 

Yeah :/ My Hua Cheng tries to throw himself out of the cabinet with any kind of stand except the ones that go around the waist, and he can't stand on his own very well for more than a few seconds either. TBH Xie Lian on the rgm4 is also not the most stable imo, but with a LOT of fiddling I *can* get him to stand on his own for a few pictures.
I might be unfair in comparing them to my Loongosul boys though because they stand like rocks in comparison. I use stands for them, but they also stand on their own solidly without them with much less fiddling on my part.

 

Weird, my Hua Cheng has never thrown himself. I have my five Ringdoll boys standing together and they've always felt really stable to me. I wonder why.
