1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ringdoll Grown Dolls, thread #9

Jan 29, 2021

    1. I have two RGM-04s - an older one I got second hand, and a newer one (my Elzevir) and the newer one is rock solid yet flexible, but the older one is floppy and weirdly stiff? You'd think they were two completely different bodies. I absolutely do not trust my RGM-03 to stand un-aided, by my much older RGM-02 is still as steady as the day he arrived. It's quite baffling really.

    2. For anyone interested, I do have body reviews for the RGM4 (Xie Lian unboxing, who is actually for sale right now!!) and RGM5 (Hua Cheng unboxing) on my youtube channel! I'll link the videos below! After a year of owning them I can definitely say that the RGM5 is sturdier for standing, but I think now the RGM4 poses a little better in the limbs. However I HATE the RGM4's hip joint. It's not super strong (or maybe the legs are heavy) because EVERY TIME I pick him up by the torso, it opens up and the his hips/legs fall. I can definitely see myself one day getting a different body for my comic Xie Lian that's on the way if it has the same problem.

    3. Ooh thanks for that!
I seem to have the opposite problem with the RGM-04 hip joint - on both the bodies I have it's impossibly stiff and utterly useless. I'd love it if it helps the body slouch a little.

    4. It's so interesting we've all had such different experiences with the same bodies xD Like what's going on in there to make them all behave so differently!

    5. Yeah!! I wonder if it comes down to them being strung tighter/looser or something else

    6. It might very well be the stringing itself, but I know that the moulds used to cast the dolls degrade over time - perhaps this also has some effect on the dolls themselves? Tiny little details that aren't noticeable to the naked eye sort of thing?

    7. It's probably a mix of all those things. Stringing, mold issues, wiring vs no wiring, even as a small factor just the way we position our dolls to stand. I know some of my dolls won't stand unless I put their feet in very specific spots.

Also, I have to say, this conversation has given me a bit of fear that one of my dolls will take a topple while I'm at school! Though I did have some workmen working on my bathroom and they kept walking close to the dolls, and they stayed steady, so maybe they'll be alright.

    8. Yes wiring too! My comic ver. Xie Lian will be wired so I'm really curious to see how much of a difference it makes! As for standing, I do have my current ringdolls on the ringdoll stands. I was hesitant to buy them at first because I had to go through ringdoll's site and not just acbjd, so that meant paying for shipping.... But they were honestly the best purchase ever, especially the one for the RGM5! Now I can display them without that falling fear!

    9. The only I doll I have that's wired is not on topic for this thread, but after seeing how well he holds his poses I'm definitely going to be giving my older RGM-04 body the wire treatment as well. The only thing I've found wiring does nothing for is the ankles.

    10. Comic versión Hua Cheng teaser released [IMG]

I am so excited but also broke right now :sweat I think he will have the new body released recently...

    11. I've done SO well resisting comic version Xie Lian but i am soo curious to see Hua Cheng now!!

    12. Omg I'm so curious. But not getting him anyway so my wallet is safe. I wasn't a dan of the Xie Lian faces. which also means I'm not getting Hua Cheng. At least I got my WWX and LWJ. <3

    13. I'm worried that I'll love him and want to sell my current Hua Cheng which is totally possible, but selling big dolls is a hassleeee :...( I haven't managed to find someone to buy my Xie Lian yet and I'm worried the same will happen for Hua Cheng.

I love my the current Hua Cheng's face sculpt and I'm VERY happy with the doll overall, so there's still a possibility that I'll see the new one and be content with my current one, but if the new one is prettier.... I'm scared for my wallet

    14. Ooh he's very handsome!

    15. I do want to see more pictures of his face! I like this a lot better than the other version, but the faceup style is very different, so I don't know how much of it is a different sculpt and how much is just the faceup style being different. I also really like his wig and eyepatch.

    16. HE'S SO BEAUTIFUL!! However, if I'm trying to convince myself to not buy him and keep my original one... I think I might actually like the first one's face sculpt better! Definitely need more photos, but I like the small bump/upturned-ness of his nose on the first one, whereas this one looks more straight. But then I like how the eyes in this one seem to be a bit smaller. Obviously this outfit is gorgeous, but I don't want to buy him just to get the outfit lol (Ring Doll PLEASE sell it separately!!) and the earring omg I love it and THE WIG!!!! I love that it's styled more!!

Okay I'm not doing a good job of convincing myself not to get him lolol

    17. I've been trying to tell myself i could probably, if I weren't afraid of ruining them, give my original Xie Lian and Hua Cheng new face ups to more closely resemble their comic versions with varying degrees of success xD

I do like this new one's outfit but the outfits are actually what i'm the most "ehh" about because I think they did a good job with their original ones! The sleeves for this one though look like they are a LOT easier to manage with the bracers than his original. The way they did those is so annoying xD

    18. He’s Lovely, as Hua Cheng always is. I’m attached to the one I already have though so I’m just going to admire other people’s. <3
