Oh he'll make such a cute Howl! I can't wait to see the clothing you make for him!

 

Does anyone know if the standard Ringdoll stand would fit the RGM5 body? I know they have one specifically for RGM5, but if possible, I’d like to have two of the same to let HC and XL match better. My only worry would be height since I doubt the weight is much different, but I think it’s adjustable?

Yes!! They're one of my favourite pages on instagram haha He turned out so well you could almost trick someone into thinking he's an official one!!

 

Me too! They're actually the one who made me want a Xie Lian so much, haha. I already wanted him a lot, but their photography made me say "okay, I gotta get him"

 

I feel like you'll be fine with the regular one. The one made for the RGM5 body just looks a bit sturdier I guess to hold a heavier doll, so maybe HC might fall forward and backward a little more on the regular stand, but hopefully not too much! The only other thing is the height, I don't have one so I'm not sure how high the regular one extends, so I'm not sure if it'll be tall enough.

Do you have a standard stand already for XL and want another one? Or were you looking to buy two of the same ones together?

 

Hmmm... I have a very similar stand to Ringdoll's standard one and I own Sun Ce. I'm afraid to say, the stand hardly reaches the middle of his thigh and ... well, does nothing. When I put him on for changing his clothing, I had to realise he was actually standing on his own!
So now I'm planning to buy Ringdoll's new stand because these 78cm boys are reeeeeeally huge and though Sun Ce's standing ability is superb, I still want to be on the safe side (not to mention the stands help me in dressing him).

I was looking to buy two together to save on shipping, since XL is currently perpetually sitting. It’s probably best to buy the RGM5 one, since I’m not looking for Hua Cheng to take a tumble! DHL shipping for the stands is 36 dollars though, which is too bad

 

Would anyone have a recommendation for non magnetic stands for either HC and XL?
I'm a little concerned with magnets as they sometimes don't pass customs here D:

 

I'm intrigued by the new licensed dolls they just announced. I don't know anything about the IP but they look pretty!

 

I don't think the stands themselves should be any issue. Yes, they're magnetic, but they're not magnets, of that makes sense. If in doubt, maybe call your local customs agency and ask? I've done this with prop weapons for dolls before.

 

My local customs can be very funny, unfortunately. I've had BJD parts with tiny magnets turned back or was asked to pay a hefty additional price for special handling... so I'd rather to not risk it--I've been seeing those acrylic bases around and would love to get one based off the recommendation of someone who might've used them with an RD doll



edit: ah, what was I thinking. I meant metal base--the magnet still holds true though

 

I ordered a in-stock Envy and open eyed Ksitigarbha for the RGM4 bodies that my other dolls will be using so I'll have floating heads. Ugh. Still it's cheaper and faster than ordering just a body and waiting for a year.

 

I heard back from Christina, and she says she will include the Ringdoll bonus for 1000 orders with all her Hua Cheng orders! So that's good news. Gotta get into playing cards now that I will have Hualian BJD cards...

 

Actually?? Now I'm even more excited!! lol

 

I hope the orders from Taobao come with them!

I'm thinking of ordering Zhou Yu (I totally wish I did when his face up was still being offered, he was designed by Tianba, apparently!)
If he is listed In-stock in the EN Ringdoll website, does this mean he is ready to ship upon full payment?

 

I believe so? Someone else may have to confirm though, it's been a while since I ordered direct from Ringdoll.

 

I ordered from the In stock list on Aug 9th and it will be delivered via DHL on the 19th, very quick @aki7

Ringdoll answered my email and it apparently whats listed in-stock in the EN site is different from the Taobao store.
I just ordered Zhou Yu after RD confirmed he can be shipped in the next 10 days--I am just super happy he is available now!

If its that fast....two boys coming home by the end of the month!

 

I ordered August 4th, got shipping email August 12th, DHL picked it up August 14th, and it's supposed to be here by August 17th. That's for two in-stock dolls on the EN website. So, within 10 business days like they say in the order confirmation email. c:
