1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Sacramento KCRA Channel 3 ABJD Story [ON AIR NOV.15th]

Sep 7, 2007

    1. Hehe, shows you how much I know XD

    2. Lol, it alright. I know basically nothing about DZ, and couldnt figure out what sculpt he is. Sorry, helloivy! But pm Neon Addiction and I'm sure he'd be more than happy to tell you!

    3. Hey! Not bad XD

Thank you all of you nice DOAers who participated! :D

    4. Hmmm when was the last time network news showed anything thoughtful and informative? I sure didn't expect them to show any respect for bjd collectors. Gee whiz, even public tv went out of its way to make people as anodyne as purebred cat and dog owners look like loonies.
      >_< Argh!

But I thought everyone did great!
      Huzzah!
      Raven

    5. either way, at least the actuall showing was a little better than the promo... i was upset, and even my mom was a little dissapointed in it too, and she told me i didnt need a doll xD so yeah >.>

    6. thanks for posting both the promo and the segment online.

im glad that the segment was nothing close to the disturbing promo... but i understand where the company was coming from, BJDs are often seen as creepy by non-collectors... and if they didnt make the promo look 'intense' i doubt non-collectors would tune in. THERE'S A SCARY CULT OF DOLLS! WE MUST WATCH! it's all marketing.

i'm kind of disappointed that they went to VOLKS and asked how much money they made... that seemed kind of too intrusive... :|

great job for everyone who was interviewed & participated :)

    7. My father called me down for the preview of a recorded show he was watching(so it was before it aired..he doesn't care for my obsession...) and I found it offensive. o= It was a pretty rude way to show BJD....
But I watched the actual documentary online and it was decent. WAY better than the preview.
Now know I'm saying nothing bad about the news channel, but it wouldn't have hurt to be a little more respectful to owners(and Volks. I didn't like the money comment. x_X). *shrugs*
Either way, I'm not sure whether it will or will not bring in too many people. It IS an expensive hobby...

    8. Neon's boy, Jhonen, is a DZ Mo :)

    9. Yes. The doll that has the monroe piercings, and septum ring is my little Jhonen.

Anyways, I actually liked the segment alot! I mean it wasn't a fully accurate depiction of BJDs and the people who collect them, but it definately wasn't as negative as the promotions!

I thought it was pretty cute. I pmed all my friends, and they all laughed when I popped up on screen, and then afterwards when she was like THAT GUY WITH ALL THE PIERCINGS AND HIS DOLL WITH MATCHING ONES?

Hahaha. The doll that Pamela Wu was holding was my friend Loki's Dollzone Orlando, Lennix. I was pretty mad that she just SNATCHED off her hair like that. But at least she didn't do anything else offensive.

      :)

    10. hey, i thought your doll was kinda spiffy!
it goes to show how much you can customize your doll to you liking! thats what i like about these ..uh,, bdj?? no its BJD right?
      xD

    11. Thanks, both of you!
Jhonen has put Dollzone in a whole new light for me, haha. He's gorgeousss.

    12. Awww! That was a great segment. All of you in it were adorable. It's nice to see boys and their dolls, and it's also really nice that America is finally giving our dolls a little bit of attention.

    13. :o I am shocked! I actually liked the story:? . Wasn't expecting that!:sweat

    14. wow.. i watched it and i was able to understand alittle bit more...no offense to whoever put it up first xD

    15. LOL! I actually had no idea what was up with this until tonight. Saw the promo first and was like:o , but then saw the actually program on the KCRA site and I'm sure that the people who watched it hoping for a creepy doll cult were disappointed. I think that the station handled the whole thing very well, considering that to people who know nothing about the hobby, it could definitely come off as sounding kind of strange. For example, you all know what I mean about "living", but the people who watch me on the program, might think that I mean truly LIVING.

(Okay, kids, settle down in there. I'll come in and change all your wigs in a minute.);)

I have to agree with Juubei that I'm a tiny bit worried about the pricing getting out, but I think that they handled it well. They actually knew about the $8,000 Bermann, but I'm glad that they decided not to mention it.

Anyway, thank you, Neon Addiction for organizing the event and to Lizzegirle and Greg for asking me to come along.:)

    16. oh! were you the one who said you had 21 living with you??
i cant imagine having that many!!! wouldnt you have a problem with choosing favorites and such? i know i would!!
man.. i keep asking my mom if she will buy me one as a gift for christmas and my birthday for the next few years, and she said hellz no... she doesnt even spend that much on gifts for our whole family, and she says its not worth it TT^TT

    17. :sweat :sweat :sweat

You will before you know it. Like they said -- addiction.;)

    18. ahh..so the sweatdrops mean it is you! xD
i think i would only be able to own two.. cause i think 21 would be waaaay to many for me >.> dont you have a problem with favorites?

    19. Hm, no, I don't have a problem with favorites and if my dolls do, well, they don't say anything about it.;)

Eep, and here I am getting all off topic. otaku_drea, you should check out one of the "how many is enough" threads that are here to see how people deal with favorites, etc. You can PM me if you want and I can track them down for you.:)
