1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Sacramento KCRA Channel 3 ABJD Story [ON AIR NOV.15th]

Sep 7, 2007

    1. Wow...I've been keeping up with this thread for a while, waiting with anticipation for it's final release, but this is extremely disturbing and wrong. The fact that they would twist the interviews is a (personal opinion) violation of the persons interviewed. I doubt anyone agreed to be portrayed in that light. Especially, since it appeared to me, that the person within KCRA seemed to have sincere desire to learn about the hobby and post a news story about the hobby itself; not a freaky tabloid-esque short about how insane and unheathily obsessed bjd owners are. I hope, for their sake, the actual news run is not at all what the promo suggests it is. :barf :evil: :barf :evil:

    2. Well, it says something about a news "reporting" station when their top stories on their web site are a video related to a woman finding her boyfriend dead in a cat door, and a miracle smiley-face bell pepper.

    3. I am absolutely SICKENED by this promo. I cannot believe it. As if doll owners don't look bad enough because of the shallow people that boycott us because of little details in the BJD hobby. For example, the price, the fact that they're anatomically correct which somehow makes them "sex dolls", the fact that eyes and hair are removable, and most of all, the fact that there are some strange people who do very strange things with their dolls. But that doesn't make them bad people, and it's never necessarily bad things. But narrow-minded, shallow people view these things as wrong, crazy, or just plain icky. And because of that, they start to boycott.

      It's utterly disgusting.

    4. I can't believe that promo. I was actually EXCITED and looking FORWARD to watching it. That promo? DISGUSTING.

    5. Actualy it's mine well i recorded it. I will recored the news segment as well if every one wants it....(Thank god for tebo):)

    6. Please do...I don't get this channel. ^_^;;;

      The promo was pretty misleading and upsetting the first time I watched it, but as long as it doesnt affect my access to dolls, I'm fine. XP

      Now, if I had been interviewed and someone had edited it to make it look like I was insane or unstable, I'd be pretty PO-ed. I'd probably attempt to sue. XP;;;

    7. It was mentioned that the woman contacting us for the interviews was interested in the dolls - this is true. Millicent was VERY sweet and purchased a few items from myself and Juubei (not randomly,but I'm not saying anything incriminating as the items are a GIFT).

      Unfortunately, Millicent isn't the newsperson. That other woman is and she was, from what I understand, fairly rude and disinterested.

      However, the spin they put on the video is insulting and upsets me very much as Lyssa and Julia are very dear friends of mine. >F Hoping the segment is better. Otherwise I will be typing up some rather unhappy letters - polite, but unhappy.

    8. Ah, media drama, lulz. I don't think theres much need to worry about how the segment will go, nothing about them being "creepy" or an "unhealthy obsession" is mentioned, nothing negative at all is said. Anyways, Millicent and Pamela both sincerely apologize, neither can post on here for legal reasons (Something about that would be "admitting", it confuses me but whatever). Millicent actually likes dolls and is planning on buying one for herself and Pamela is gonna be holding mine for the live shot. Its coming on in an hour on my58 and at 11 on KCRA, so we'll see how it goes!

    9. That one guy with the piercings! Utter shame.

      The actual broadcast wasn't too bad. Not necessarily as positive as it could have been, but not bad.

      Yay KCRA for not making me hate you!

    10. I wanna know if I was on thaaaaaaaaaaaaar

    11. Heh I'm waiting for it to air right now. I actually work for KCRA too, even though I didn't know about this segment until a few days ago. I find it kind of amusing. I told a co-worker of mine "Haha they don't know I own 4 of them!" XD

    12. I don't remember who was featured...but it wasn't a bad segment.

    13. Just saw the segment. It was much more positive than the promo led one to expect. Juubei you were on. Pamela (the reporter) was very positive about the hobby. Not something I'd do again, but it turned out fine.

    14. Cracks me up that there are 17 of us waiting for updates on this thread. I'm really interested in seeing the segment. The little article on the KCRA website had a crappy tone and the fact that they gave Julia's full name, her location, and the number & value of dolls horrifies me - and doesn't give me high hopes for the tone of the segment.

      I'd love to be wrong, though. ETA: Yay, Julia! That's great to hear!

    15. I can't wait to see the segment. It seems by other people's reactions, that it isn't as crappy as the promo was.

    16. Wow, I just saw the story 0_0 It was actually very good! My mother watched the segment with me and when Noah was shown screamed, "He's famous!" Lol, it cracked me up. I couldnt help but giggle when they were explaining the dolls' anatomical correctness. Tad got a smiley face pasted over his goods! Overall, the entire story was very cute I thought.

    17. I'm waiting for them to up it up on their youtube account. x_x'

    18. Me too! :fangirl:

    19. I'm still not happy about this part, but the segment itself was nice. There were quotes from multiple people. Unfortunately, during the part of the segment where they were saying I collected primarily Volks dolls, they were panning across our Luts collection.
