How can I order this girl? Is there a layaway option? I'd love a tan Charlotte but the timing couldn't be worse (just moved plus Christmas time x.x )
I would email st.bloom and ask if theres layaway. (would be really awesome! i could use that lol) heres page to order for charlotte. http://saintbloom.com/eng/default/charlotte-b.html
Thanks for the info. What a pity... maybe I can pull the money together by the 24th but we'll see. I hate short/ short notice sells. haha
Has anyone else had issues with using ZM Finishing Power on their girls? I sprayed a base coat and it was hella shiny! I've had this issue with vinyl dolls, but never resin. What options do I have? Do I need MSC?
Congratulations Cherrily! Do you have a name for her? Holmes, I've never used ZM Finishing spray, I'm afraid I've had good results with Games Workshop Purity Seal on Unoa resin, but I've never handled or worked on Saintbloom resin, so I don't know how it reacts. Only just got the invoice for my tan Charlotte today. Paid up and now settling in for the wait. It's amazing how short it'll be, I'm used to waiting for dolls for a few months rather than a few weeks!
I've never used ZM spray either, I always use MSC. It's good stuff though. More expensive than the ZM but you can get a good deal if you bulk order from Junky Spot.
OTL Saintbloom is a man, I am glad to finally have that confirmation! Got news that he loves the brown so much, he's sending Betty and Diana for tan samples very soon. So I will be waiting for a Brown Betty (hehe) release! Hope that it's around the time I get a refund check from my school! Maybe we can convince him to make the tan sales permanent?
Hello everyone! Being a diehard fan of the Minoru world Juniors, I fell in love when I discovered these guys! I've heard of them a lot actually, but never really knew what size they were, or cared to investigate. But I saw one through atelier momoni, and my god, they're like chibi Unoa's! They're super cute! It's a shame I noticed them so late because now I won't be able to snatch a tan one up. It's probably for the better since I'm mentally debating with myself who to save up for, Charlie or Charlotte These guys are really cute, and I'm definitely getting one once I can afford it again, that price tag is hard to resist. I've gone through the whole thread in half an hour, just gawking at all your pretty girls, and they all look so adorable! But I see people are having trouble with wigs? Are they on the bigger size of 4-5 or? How are they at posing? I love double jointed dolls, but my Junior girl from minoru world is so cute I forgive her, and I think I could do that to one of the saintbloom girls. I'm merely curious, they seem somewhat mobile actually. I have two incoming dolls so I won't be able to scoop up one of these anytime soon, but I'll surely come back, and if you guys don't mind, I'd love to stalk the thread, lol
Please, join the thread! I seem to post a lot here They are on the larger size of 4-5. I believe their heads are actually 4.75" to be exact. Saintbloom also sends them in with 10mm eyes but I believe some sculpts look better with 08mm. Well, I've mentioned previously that they are not the best posers because of the single joints, but I am sure with some modifications more posability can be achieved. They sit, stand, and hold basic poses very well, they just can't go the extra mile that double jointed bodies can. Oh, one easy mod to for easy slouching is creating a a slot on the top of the lower torso joint so that the chest joint can fall into the groove, to allow for either a slouch or for the back arch. You can find similar grooves on Fairyland dolls.
i'm glad to see that Betty and Diana will be offered in brown resin. i think a brown Diana will make a great first doll for me :3
glad to hear that they are getting more dolls in tan! i just love the figures on these girls. for sure going to have to get one of these lovelies!
I'm holding out for a brown Betty. She'd be absolutely perfect for a mini-version of a character I have in mind. I'm looking forward to trying my hand at sewing dresses and outfits for her. The only thing I'm worried about is doing her face-up her head is just so tiny! ;^; For those who did their girls' face-ups yourselves, was the smaller size a lot more difficult to work with/paint?
Actually I have an easier time doing tiny faceups Word of warning, the watercolor pencil technique does not work as well on small heads as it does on larger ones.
That's a bit nervewracking to hear, but the practice will do me some good (I'm not really the best with either the acrylics or the watercolor pencils). I'm going to really try to take my time with this doll-- not just the face-up, but the clothes, accessories, almost everything because she'll be the closest thing to a project doll I'll have. ;^; I'm so impatient to see when they'll release her though. DX Btw, kayke-- you mentioned that you modded your girls so they slouched a bit more. Do you have pictures of this mod? I'm thinking of maybe possibly trying it out as I do like dolls that can slouch, even a bit.
I didn't clean it up like I normally do, but I will take pictures of the mod in the morning. I've also modded her to have nipples and slimmed down her waist a bit so that I could have a bit more variety in body types (I sold my NS charlie and I'm replacing her with a Brown Betty).
I'm a bit nervous now watercolour pencils aren't so great for tiny face-ups! Hmm. I will have to break out the superslim brushes and try to get a steady hand! I've bought some Yo/LTF sized leggings for my incoming girl, I'm assuming that because Saintbloom legs are longer that they'll look like cropped leggings on her? Is there someone who makes full-length Saintbloom-sized jeans and leggings? I've seen someone's doll in TTYA jeans that looked the right length but I would have thought they'd be too short.
Just to clarify- I've done the watercolor pencils on my (sold) Charlie- it looked perfectly fine in photographs but IRL up close you can kind of see the graininess. It really depends on your personal preference. Also, I made a pattern for skinny jeans, I am just bad at figuring out how to put it all together.
