1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Sartoria J Design Group - Part 2

Nov 22, 2020

    1. Now that I've read through the other posts in this thread, I indeed saw the similarities of Silvia with IH Rebecca (still regretting that I wasn't able to get her during the discontinuation sale). :...(

My Yvonne currently uses 12mm small iris eyes, but they have a visible gap on her. I'd still have to get her some better-fitting 14mm so they wouldn't be so shadowed all the time.

    2. Ornella eyes are a bit larger than "standard", I needed to sand the 12mm eyes' edges to make them fit some (non-SartoriaJ) dolls that use 12mm from all other manufacturers without any issues.

    3. I'm absolutely in love with the new Juliet elf SartoriaJ teased on their Instagram page. I think based on these images, it is hereby safe to pronounce myself as the future owner of a third SartoriaJ girl. I know the huge ears are not for everyone, but they definitely appeal to me since I always wanted an elf girl with big ears I could paint in ornaments. I really hope she will be SD sized, but seeing as all their releases have so far piloted as SD sized dolls, that seems to be quite certain.

That being said, I do wonder if they plan to release her in the summer event along with the special skintones or already sooner as her own release in the natural skintones. I would quite take either. She seems to be in half-sanded 3d print stage in the images, so I doubt it will be before May...?

Boy am I happy my husband doesn't read my Den of Angels, because I would so be busted for breaking that "I'm not intending to buy any new dolls before I graduate" promise. But, this is a force majeure case, I of course meant all the dolls that existed at the date I gave that statement! :XD: At this point I should prolly get a box of those "it's a boy/girl" banners except with the text being "it's a new doll!" and hang them up in the house every time the mailman is about to arrive with something I promised I wouldn't buy, lol.

    4. Lol that's funny @vauhtikatti ! I love elf Juliet's huge ears too, she has a wonderful glamour shot up on their Instagram this morning:) I'm so excited for the summer event.

    5. @Ashemanu Yes, at least Matias will be available one more time this year as msd, even I ordered him already in SD version but I do wish to grab a Jarrad or Jude before SJ's discontinuation.

For everyone who haven't had time to check yet, SJ announced to put a bunch of sculpts on discontinuation. Here's a list for their SD size sculpts:

      71 ATH & 73 Zeus
      - Jude
      - Jarrad
      - Zakary
      - Dominic

      61 Aprodite
      - Yvonne
      - Naomi
      - Serena
      - Yu
      - Luthien
      - Sienna

I was very surprised to see Sienna to be included in this list, as she seems to be a very new sculpt that has recently just been released? So did Vittoria as MSD size, too.

    6. @Khlovera I was shocked to see Sienna on the list too, and it pretty much threw my dollie plans awry (I was hoping to get a 45Aph version of her eventually -- but not because my hand was forced by a discontinuation). Poor Yvonne, at least I already got her big version on the secondhand market and wouldn't have to lose sleep over missing out on her.

    7. The email also stated that they will now on release all dolls as time limited release, only once per sculpt. From the wording of the notice it remains unclear whether that concerns all their dolls or just the MSD versions, but if it concerns all of them, I think this means goodbye for waiting on an event to pay 10% less on the doll and to get free shipping.

I wonder if this also means that when they do release the SD elf Juliet this summer, it might be the only time of them releasing her at all. Remains to be seen. Well, in the case that it is the only time they sell her, for my collections sake I wish they offer her in natural skintones too in the case that their chosen summer event fantasy skintone is not what I'm after. I'm fine with most fantasy colours while purple is my favourite, but I don't think the character concept could accommodate strawberry pink or green for example.

    8. I wish I could get a tan Yu head with faceup before she is gone. No funds though.

    9. I wish I had gotten this mail. I cannot find anything about it on the website. For some reason I never get their newsletter.
Maybe Sienna just wasn´t popular. I cannot see any other reason why they should discontinue a new(er) mold. And I have to admit, I liked their older molds better than the newer ones, especially Yvonne.

    10. Tbh, I don't understand what's going on with this discontinuation message ._.

Are the aforementioned sculpts already gone for good or will there be one more opportunity to get them before they're discontinued?

I've been looking to purchase some of the sculpts on that list for a while now but they've always been marked as "sold out" - is there no more opportunity to get your hands on them at this point?

I apologize for being a bit confused >.<

    11. “From April 15 - April 24, we will be selling discontinued dolls for the last
time. This is a permanent decision and discontinued dolls won't be
released again for any reason so if there is a doll you have wished, don't
miss this last chance. If you have any other questions, leave it on Q&A
board and we will get back to you soon.”

    12. So (since they are not re-releasing sculpts) I guess SJ won't have any big Summer or Holiday Event sales with several sculpts offered? (Boo...)

And since this is the last chance to get a Elf Juliet...that negates me getting any of the discontinued sculpts...as I have to budget dolly purchases...afterall.;)

    13. They haven't dropped all the sculpts, so perhaps we'll have a second chance at some of them. I don't like the one release only of new sculpts!

    14. I think the most upsetting thing about the sculpts slated for the chopping block is that, at least for the 61 and 63 ladies, their most iconic and unique faces will no longer be available, while a number of heads that feel like slight variations on the same theme get to stick around. Once Yvonne and Yu are gone for good, all I have left to look forward to is Jenice and Sarah, and neither of those I like nearly much the former two. :( It's great that SartoriaJ is scaling back to something more manageable, but doing it like this is awful.

    15. I didn't get the newsletter (unless it went to spam?) but I saw this in the facebook group! I'm so sad to hear that they're going to limit releases to one and done. Budgeting for these dolls is hard enough as it is without having to panic buy because of even more rarity.

I was going to get Jude next, but I don't have the funds right now (I was wanting to try to save up for the summer event with the colors.)

I also agree that it seems the more 'unique' sculpts are the ones they're getting rid of. Maybe the molds are harder to maintain somehow? It's just unfortunate all around.

    16. Thank you for sharing the exact message!

I'm also super disappointed >.> Serena, Zak and Dominic were definitely on my list - Serena especially; she was supposed to be my first female doll. But I don't think I'll be able to squeeze her into my budget, especially when it's such a short-notice, tight time frame :/

    17. I wonder if enough people pestered them about selling the discontinued sculpts as heads only for the final sale if they'd consider it. Or even a full doll with an extra head option?

edit: ::goes and posts on the Q&A::

    18. Ooh that would be a great solution. A option for a head or as an extra with a doll.

    19. Here's what I got from Jay regarding the discontinuation list

" No, all discontinued dolls won't be included in this summer event.
We are going to destroy the mold itself and we won't be selling them again in any way."

So it's kind of confirming that this is our last chance I presume? :atremblin
