1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Sartoria J Design Group - Part 3

Jun 26, 2023

    1. I'm sat so firmly on the fence over this Versailles release, I'm getting splinters :XD:

      The dresses are so beautiful and absolutely my thing but, do I want to deal with the hassle of having to change the torso whenever I want one of my girls to wear them? I don't think my budget would stretch to getting an extra body for these outfits specifically just to keep in storage - the release dolls are lovely but not for me, so the head wouldn't be staying... which feels a little wrong on a Marie Antoinette ^^;;;

    2. @Ishamael Haha I feel you! I usually change my dolls' clothes every few months, so while it can be a pain I don't mind switching out the busts. Honestly at this point I have so many Sartoriaj clothes that look best with the corset bust I just switch between those. :XD:

I bought the Madame du Pompadour and Marie Antoinette looks, but I've noticed a bit of a quality downgrade the last few clothes I've ordered, so depending on what these look like I'll likely hold off for awhile on Sartoriaj clothes.

    3. @Wittyilynamed - You already have corset busts? If so...how do they look without clothes made for the corset bust?

My problem...is...if I get a corset bust body...the resin color will limit who can use it.*_*

    4. @luluna Yes I asked Jay when they originally offered Freya if they would mind me purchasing the Belle bust and then also getting a corset bust separately and they let me. Honestly don't think I've ever put on a non-corset bust outfit on with it, any in particular you have in mind? I may or may not have it available for a try on haha.

    5. @Wittyilynamed - Thanks! I was just wondering how odd (or not) it looks...without a corset style clothing.:)

    6. Next try with Xylane ... this photo is heavily edited with Photoshop to get anywhere near her real skin color. She has gold make up below her eyes which reflects the light. My camera is just not able to handle it. But at least she looks more like herself now.

@luluna thanks for the tip with the indirect light!!

    7. I bought the same two outfits and the Marie Antoinette wig :D

I think switching the busts out and dealing with the elastic and other dolly innards will be good for me actually. I've always had this weird, almost fear of doing anything with my dolls, beyond changing their eyes and hands, but 40 year old me has a lot less fluff's to give than 20 year old me did so it'll be fine. Probably

@Ashemanu - Xylane is absolutely beautiful :love

    8. @luluna I'll take a look through my clothes collection and try something on my Freya, who currently has the corset bust on. Unfortunately a lot of the clothes I have from SJ that aren't intended for the corset bust usually look best with the belle bust, so it'll be interesting to see for sure haha.

@Ashemanu She really is gorgeous!! She's one of those dolls that I don't regret not getting, but I DO regret not having someone who lives close and has her so I could see and play with her in person haha. Her skintone is mesmerizing in every photo you share!

@Ishamael Haha, one thing I never had that much fear of was taking my dolls apart and putting them back together. For some strange reason, it helps me bond to have to struggle and bruise myself by hot glue sueding them or take hands off for outfits.(one tip you don't see often: don't be afraid to use your feet to grip if your arms are weak like mine :XD:)
Excited you got the wig, it's so fun!

    9. @Ashemanu - She looks great! I find darker resins very hard to photograph. You did terrific! Bravo! :3nodding:

@Wittyilynamed - Thanks! I have this image of a doll with the corset bust and not having an outfit for that particular bust looking like she's taking a deep DEEP breath and holding it.:whee:

    10. Thank you all :) She is my absolute favorite atm. Just looking at her gives me immense joy. Now it´s just eyes (ordered) and a wig. I have a hard time deciding on the hair color, either black or dark gray. I think I will go for dark gray :3nodding:

    11. Wow!! I'm so happy many of us are receiving our dolls!!

I'm coming out of the woodwork of burnout to announce my Malena came in last night!

Nothing says bonding with your first doll ("what are these red smears?") like realizing you've made a blood sacrifice from getting slashed by an S-hook, am I right? :sweat

Cori is wearing her gf's stuff at the moment. I wanted to see sonoran beige in person before I decided what color of blonde wig I needed for her. She's surprisingly nearly the same skin tone as me

    13. @luluna sorry for the delay, I took some quick pics of how the corset bust looks with malenas fullset top. Honestly better than expected!

    14. Question for you guys: If SJ forgot a part of your order and said they would ship it after speaking on QA, did they send you a tracking number? Jay forgot to include Audrey's ram horns when they shipped her order to me. I know shipping to the US is a nightmare right now, but it's been 2 months, and I've reached out to them twice on QA about this. They've promised twice they would send it out "next week" and I've got nada. Just wondering if I should poke them again, the only other time Jay forgot something in my shipment they sent it out super promptly.

    15. :love:D wow!

    16. @Wittyilynamed - OH THANK YOU for photographing your corset bust lady! That is very helpful and does look way better than I imagined! Thank you!!!! :abow:

What sculpt is she? She is gorgeous!

Oh and I would message them again about the horns. Ask for a tracking number.

    17. @sageyufi Can't wait to see your Malena with a face-up! I love that wig and am jealous haha, I need one stat.

@luluna Sorry I posted it the day the corset bust closed, in my head I thought it ended May 1st! And thank you, she's a Freya. <3

    18. @Wittyilynamed - Oh no need for apologies. I really couldn't swing a doll this month as I wanted to get a few of the outfits...but now I know...I "need" to order a corset bust...in the future. (And decide what resin I will get her in when I do.) So, my thanks again! :)

    19. @sageyufi - Late to comment, but your Malena does look gorgeous in that wig and outfit, even if they're not hers. Really cool eyes too!

    20. @Sianserais Thank you! I commissioned the lovely @ashuradark for the two unique pairs of eyes.

Even though both my girls are human with natural eyes in my story, they were originally inspired by nightmarish characters from an existing IP. The black sclera eyes are a little hard to photograph, but they are cosmic with glinting pupils that also eerily follow you. Amara, my Natalie, can't come home soon enough!

Every SJ event is really special so I'm hoping their next Halloween event (a long ways off) will knock me off my socks. Because I have horror outfit ideas but no sewing skill to speak of yet :sweat
