Yes, by most bjd standards it is. As long as it lends itself well in a natural way to the other features bigger noses don’t bother me, it’s all about balance! I’d rather see the nose he has than one of those pinched ski-slope upturned noses that only really belong on anime/manga style faces. They’re not my cup of tea at all!

 

Hmm, yes, all the Standard dolls seem to have disappeared with no announcement - how odd! I presume they'll be back? Maybe they're just in the midst of changing things up on the website.

I think Joshua's nose is interesting and wonderful. It's nice for variety too.

 

The la poupee is gone too.
I had lost one of Lilis ears in december but I finally found it. I can get back to painting her now...I was so stressed about it, they arent selling the fox ears separately at the moment like they were in the spring or summer.

 

I panicked for a second there....La Poupee is now listed under the 1/4 dolls.

 

I'm hoping so bc one of my friends wants a mini from them

 

Looks like a reorganisation - there’s now a “collection” category (maybe that’s what standard will be called now?) and a “doll of the month” category. Fascinating!!! Nothing there yet though, so it’s all still coming I guess!

 

@morganatron I noticed a category called "doll of the month"... Perhaps they are moving to a monthly schedule ?

 

Oh, good if he's reorganizing! It was awkward to look up dolls sometimes.

Doll of the month sounds interesting....maybe he will highlight certain sculpts each month?

 

Is anyone thinking of getting Malena? Or does anyone here already have her? I read the notice and saw you could put in a request for a doll you'd like to see, so I carefully went through the gallery and ya know what? Other than Luthien, which I already have, my favorites might be Malena and Elf Agnes. I don't know that he would include an elf in the doll of the month since his release says he wants to show the dolls in casual clothes.... Maybe I should get Malena?

 

Malena is very pretty!!! Im really excited to see what they release each month! It would be wonderful if some of the elves came back. Or I’d be very tempted by Jenice - I already have one but I really love her!!! But mostly im wondering if it’s at all possible they could bring back Jude??? If that happens, my “no buying new dolls this year” plan will go right out the window! I think it would take me approximately 5 seconds to hit the buy button. I wonder if I should ask?

 

Am I right in thinking that there will be no standard dolls anymore? So, we'll have doll of the month and then a special limited release of a few dolls at certain times of the year?

 

Hard to say! I don’t think it’s been announced either way yet, unless I missed something?

 

I wasn't sure if I was just missing something in the doll of the month statement. I did see someone ask (on here on the thread SartoriaJ were announcing Malena) if the collection line would be permanent dolls and SartoriaJ replied saying they'd be limited. I guess we'll just have to wait and see

 

I do hope they are just sorting things out a bit and maybe playing catch-up on orders, bloody typical though that the moment I decide on something it’s no longer available though!

You know what, I’ve been looking at these dolls and admiring them for a few years now but only just realised where I’ve seen their rather confusing and frustrating sales model before…..SartoriaJ are the Lush cosmetics of the BJD world (and I used to work for Lush which was both great and really annoying). They bring out lovely products you fall in love with then for no apparent reason suddenly discontinue the most sought after ones, claim they’re gone for good only to be rereleased sometime later where again your joy is short lived and crushed by yet another discontinuing of that item.
There has to be a better way than Dolly roulette though.

Luckily I wasn't planning on buying any of the standard dolls and just kept a look out for the limited releases, which I felt like I could keep up with as they weren't too frequent. This doll of the month though... I'm dreading and anticipating it in equal measures!

I love Melena in the Amber beige skin and the older face up but now I'm like what if I like next month's doll of the month better? I already have Stella on layaway, I could get Melana too but there is no way I can push for 3 dolls on layaway. I think this might be my most ridiculous problem

 

I ordered my Derek last July when he was suddenly offered. I'm glad I was able to get him then...as he's not been offered since.

I do agree with the idea of dreading and anticipating the doll of the month in equal measures! I do like the option of getting a doll "ready to ship".

And I just noticed that Malena is now also available in MSD size too.

 

They are all so beautiful!!! And I just love their matching outfits!!!

Ha, and I know what you all mean above with both dreading and anticipating the doll of the month - I wasn't planning on getting more dolls this year, but if a limited one comes up it might be the only chance to get it - so I don't know whether to hope for amazing dolls or to hope for ones I don't want that much (or already have!)
