It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. SartoriaJ Mini Part II

Aug 19, 2023

    1. @MB Lilac I love the little family! You are so good at pairing colors together too, colors I never would have tried together look so perfect. Matias and Agnes are a beautiful couple.

    2. @morganatron - Thank you!
@skyealloway - Thank you! It was total chance. I came across the gray velour and a pink lace scarf at Value Village one day, and thought they went really nicely together. So I made Agnes' gown out of them. Velour would have been too heavy for the little girl's dresses so I found a gray/green synthetic brocade for those. Then of course Matias needed something in matching colours so I went with gray and wine red brocades.

    3. So, I was just changing the eyes out on some of my girls and it was Yu's turn. So, I take her head off and just happen to catch the name inscribed in the neck opening turns out I don't have Yu I have Jenice *_*.

I bought her of ebay last year. She was listed as Yu. I always thought she looked a little different but I put it down to a different face up... I just can't believe I've had her all this time and I only figured it out now! :doh

Also, it says S Jenice, what does the S mean?

    4. Huh, how amazing!!! Now I'd like to see pictures of her! You know, I think my one says S. Jenice too, but I have no idea why - there's only one head type so it's not like one is Sleeping Jenice or something. Maybe the S stands for small? Instead of 61cm Jenice? I don't know!

    5. There was a head choice on the Tarot Empress Jenice. I ordered the S. Jenice. I'm not sure what the S stands for. Perhaps it's just for a second version.

Additional information: I looked carefully at the pictures and my doll. The Jenice head has slightly parted lips with teeth showing. The S Jenice has closed lips. Most of the pictures are of Jenice but the pictures of the blank head are S Jenice!

    6. Ohhh I thought I remembered the choice of two heads but then I couldnโ€™t see the option on the site so I thought I was mistaken! Good, I havenโ€™t completely lost my memory then! :XD:

    7. @nancy_schroeder_ca I just did an Instagram search for Jenice and found a picture that confirms what you said about the open and closed mouth.

@morganatron I think I posted a picture of her recently on this thread.

    8. I have a question because I will receive my first guy soon. Not sure when since I payed out my layaway recently
      1) He is coming nakey and I don't even know where to get him clothes aside from Sartoria's shop. Most Chinese sellers on tao don't make 1/4 clothes for such bodies and 1/3 or Uncles are way too big. Most of my friendly known seamstresses work with ID75 or Minifee girls :(
      2) If anyone got a Minifee doll (or something with similar proportions) is it possible to make a photo of them together? I'd like to see how SartoriaJ men look together with non-fashion BJDs

    9. @LazySeeker - Here you go.

I don't have a Minifee, but do have a wide selection of MSD size men, some of which are probably the same size. So I took a photo representing all the different sizes of MSD guys that I own, with an SJ 51 ATH Jude in the middle....

From the left: Doll Leaves Maya, Narin, Limhwa Mono, SartoriaJ 51 ATH Jude, Iplehouse FID Lawrence on a Muscle body, Iplehouse FID Baron on a Model body, and Iplehouse JID Kyle.
SartoriaJ men are by far the biggest. They also have a slightly bigger 52 Zeus size, but I don't have any of those. I make all my own doll clothes, and the only one Jude can share with is Lawrence. They have pretty much the same size torso, and can share clothes. Baron has a Model body, and although he can wear something from either Jude or Lawrence, neither of them can squeeze into anything made specifically to fit the FID Model body. Iplehouse JIDs have the same size torso as the FID Model, and they can share clothes, although FID clothes will be too long on a JID, and JID clothes will be short on an FID.

The three MSDs on the left can share each other's clothes. but there's no way any of the other four can borrow anything from them - not even the JID, who has a much chunkier body.

So, what it boils down to is that SartoriaJ men can only wear SartoriaJ clothes made specifically for them, or you have to make your own.

    10. Thank you! At least I see that my smaller heads Doll Leaves/Minifee Girls will look ok near him.
I noticed China started to make similar muscular dolls like Ringdolls, so I hope some artists will provide custom clothes as well. But for now, I guess I will try to find someone who makes them in the EU

    11. Apologies for the off-topic post but I'm shocked  from the photoshoots I was sure your knights were 70cm or so. I'm even more impressed that you made work this detailed on 1/4 dolls.

    12. Thank you for posting this! I'm planning to buy an Iplehouse FID in the future and already bought some clothes for him, so this is very helpful.

    13. I don't own any of the larger SJ dolls. I actually prefer making costumes for MSD size dolls.

    14. Hi. I have been collecting 1/4 SJs for quite some time. Normally, I only get their clothes, shoes, and wigs from SJ, Iplehouse, and Raccoon Doll websites. I also managed to get some decent clothings and wigs in Etsy. Can you recommend a site where I can get clothes, shoes (primarily), and wigs? Thanks.

Also, a curious question, who among your collection you consider your grail sculpt? Or maybe a grail sculpt you wanted to buy from Sartoriaj?

    15. Naomi and Agnes....

    16. It always makes me so happy seeing your gorgeous pictures!!!

    17. So the new doll of the month is Maya and they're offering her in cocoa brown skin too!!! She so beautiful but I don't think I can get her as I already have SartoriaJ on layaway and I just bought one second hand. I love the dress too but I'd need to get another SD to wear it.

Is anyone else planning to buy her?

    18. I never planned on ordering from Satoria, but Maya looks so cool! Is it same sculpt, they are offering in SD and MSD size?
I never had any of their dolls, how is posability od msd bodies? (Mobility thigh) is one more stable/posable than the other?

    19. Yes, it's the same sculpt in both sizes.

Posing... I never really expect much from my dolls, they just stand and look pretty :XD: . They aren't known for their excellent posing but I don't think they're terrible, but like I said I don't really do much with my dolls. It really depends what you want from them and what you're used to I suppose.

    20. As far as posing goes, they do have issues, and don't pose as well as Iplehouse FIDs. But like every brand of dolls they take some practice in figuring out what they can and cannot do. My pet peeves are that the men's elbows won't stay in position unless their arms are wired. And the lady's knees pop out when they sit, but mine all wear long gowns so it doesn't show. I do find the mobility thigh helps so the legs can turn. Anyways, their dolls are so gorgeous that I just deal with their posing limitations.
