SC doll *Flower and Junior* discussion part 1

And I ended up buying Yabi second-hand, with Luts white skin Kid body. Body is much whiter than the head, by the way. Soom msd body in normal skin suits the head quite fine.

 

does anyone know if any of the doll chateau 1/4 bodies fit any of the heads? :3c
or just have a neck measurement? especially for kaka, but i love all of them so i'm still wondering which i should get first! ^^

 

I have my Mizi head on a DC kid body! It fit perfectly with no mods needed.

Yup it's the K05! She is a Rokurokubi, so I'm gathering more neck extension pieces to elongate her neck a whole bunch. Lol

what skintone is she, is it normal pink? i have some ws DC and i feel like it's probably too light to match right out of the box? or did you do blushing? (her faceup is sooo lovely btw!)

She is in NP yes, but most extra neck parts people have left over are in white. So i might just buy them new from DC instead.

i have a few dolls with space/science names, my DC Jupiter is Cassini~ ;3 maybe i'll give my kaka a space name, since i haven't decided on a name for him yet..!! maybe Sirius or Polaris? those could be cute..!

I just got my Mushiyi head in! she is adorable and I'm over the moon with her! I haven't been able to find any owner pictures of the skulpt yet so I was a little nervous to see what she was gonna be like, but she is perfect



However I'm afraid I received her in WS and not NS as I ordered. I'm not completely sure though, It has been such a long time since I last had a WS doll. but when I put her next to my fairyland NS girl the difference is so Noticeable.



Can anybody tell me if she is WS? could it be that their NS is just very light? I was planning on getting her a Dollzone b45-012 girl body in normal pink skin. but now I don't know what to do, since i'm not sure if she is NS.
Does dollzones WS match Flower and Juniors WS??

I have contacted the company but I haven't heard back from them yet.
I hope someone can help

 

Judging from your photos, I do think you got WS... >_< Small's NS is also light, but it's different to her WS. As for the dollzone match, DZ's WS is paper white...Small's is creamy...it's not a HUGE difference, but there is a small one. I wish I could get a photo for you but I can't right now, my camera needs to be shipped off for fixing...to -me-, the difference wouldn't be a bother, but that depends on how picky you are about this.

 

About the Dollzone skin colors, they've recently changed. This was being discussed in the Dollzone mini thread at the bottom of the page here: DollZone mini 43cm Discussion Part 14 and there is a chart showing that the new Dollzone white is now creamy...not paper white like before.

i think it'll suit him since mimas has this big ol' crater in it and kaka has that endearing wonky eye..!!

@mangameow haha, I think I can spot the similarities!

I managed to score a reasonably priced secondhand Yabi head! Not entirely sure what I'll do with him - I keep thinking he'd look cute on a 30cm body, but here are so few companies that offer this size! I may open his eyes a tad, as well, since I've noticed a lot of Yabi customs use very heavy eyeliner to compensate for the small eyes.

Could I request some more SC doll spam for inspiration (doesn't just have to be Yabi!)?

if i might recommend a bluefairy shiny fairy junior body? they're like ~33cm i believe? i don't have one (yet!!), but i have several other bluefairy dolls and they're my favourite company. ^^
not sure on the resin match though..? if you got normal skin i can check vs my dolls when my kaka gets home. :3

 

He's supposedly coming in WS, but thanks for the offer! I would like to ask if you could share a photo of your Kaka head next to one of your standard sized Bluefairies when he arrives? That would help me figure out if a more petite body would work or not (and I will check out the junior fairy body straight away!).

 

Got my Yabi! I never received a confirmation email from small, but he got here safe and sound in the end~ ^u^

Still no ideas for him yet, or a name, but that'll come to me eventually. For now he can just sit on the shelf and look pretty~ Aaand very badly matched to his body :< I knew it would happen though haha, I'll have to blush him to match (which I've never done before so wish me luck! >^<)
He's on a Dollzone B45-009 in Old NPS. The new white skin from DC/DZ actually looks like a great match, though! Since it's a lot creamier than before, not paper white. (If anyone wants some comparison shots, I have a DC doll with the new white skin made this year, and one in the old white that has mellowed somewhat. They're actually almost identical in colour now haha)

He needs a new everything, but I do like these eyes in him! :0 The wig looks a bit sad, though haha..

my kaka arrived too btw!! i had to reglue in one of his magnets and.... holy frick the one at the base of his head is one of the strongest i've ever come across!!
it's drying now, but when it's done i'll get @Kimchi the comparison to my bluefairy boys that you wanted! ^^ the skin colour is def. different from my older ones, but it's not terribly so? just kind of average.

they're really hasty pictures and the lighting in my room is terrible (plus it's a total mess lol) but that should be good! i actually really like the hybrid body i think the proportions look nice, if i do end up getting another kaka someday i'll probably put it on a bf body..! but i'm set on DC for mimas, so. ^-^;

 

@mangameow Thank you! ^u^ Yes my Yabi is white skin, it's the only colour available on the site for this sculpt (though it's usually easier to colour match a lighter head to a darker body than vice versa so I'm kind of glad haha)

Apologies for the lack of natural light (it's dark out), and the phone pic, but it gives the general gist of how well the colours match.
DZ/DC old white on the left (the Ada head), F&J is of course in the middle, and on the right is DC/DZ new white (I took the headcap off for a better comparison but it's all one doll there).



The new normal is pretty much a perfect match with F&J, the old normal (it's more noticeable in the photo) is a little lighter still, and ever-so-slightly more lemony(?) in tone. The others are a more warm, creamy colour~
