Sculpts you love (but will probably never get)

Volks Suiseiseki- I cant justify the expense :/
Volks Elena- I dont like Volks poseability/body sculpts
Iplehouse I and Tania- Decided to make them Mnf sculpts instead... Still love them though
Iplehouse Carina- EID is too big/had a Luna that bit me/squeaked/etc
Soom Topaz- Beautiful but I already have a Soom dream girl
Soom Saiph- still trying to talk myself out of... its hard to come up with a good enough reason not to get him

Iplehouse Chase: he is so gorgeous and I love the look of the EID model body, but I know that the posing would drive me absolutely nuts.

Volks Jun T: I have always loved this girl, and even owned her for a couple of years, but ultimately she did not fit the character I had her as and she is simply too expensive for me to get just for the heck of it (unless she happens to be re-released).

Minifees: there are, oh, a half dozen I adore, and their bodies are nothing short of amazing. But between my pickiness about scale and my desire to have some large height differences in my crew, the 1/4 scale just doesn't work for me.

 

I have several, Soom Sabik and IH Akando, I've owned both and sold both and periodically think about them but they just weren't for me. A Luts Vampire Elf Soo, love the face which is odd because I normally don't like Luts (no offense meant there), but I do keep looking at her knowing I'll never own one. The most recent is IH Benny. When I first saw her promo photos I loved her! For two days I was plotting way to afford her (even though I was saving up for a Saint) but something in the back of my mind just kept saying: "no, she isn't for you." And that little voice was right, I have my Saint on the way and I'm so glad I didn't buckle. Especially now seeing owner photos, I still think she's gorgeous, but just not for me.

 

Iple House EID Tedros. He's too big, and the Nocturna Circus version is already sold out, but he's SO gorgeous.

 

The first doll I ever really went crazy over was a limited edition Iplehouse from the Noctarcana Circus. I still love her, Luna the Tamer, and still occasionally come back to that page to fangirl over her XD Although, I will never be able afford a limited edition, probably never a 60cm, or anything more expensive than maybe at best 200$. Still, the ones I want, the BBBs, are gorgeous and adorable and I would be thrilled to have. ^__^ That's for different reasons.

Character-wise, however, dolls have always kind of dictated themselves as I meet them, even dolls outside of BJDs. Characters I have as muses in my head and in my pixel-work could never be reproduced through a doll; My dolls refused to be fit into a box of a character; I must make the box FOR the doll. If that makes sense. XD

 

Such dolls exist and the fact I'll hardly ever get them huuurts me(
One of them is UD Jace which is not produced anymore - well, that's not a secret.
And, I guess, I will never have Mecha Angels. I just can't afford them. That's a pity!

 

This is a great thread and I've enjoyed reading it. Some of the choices I am not even familiar with. I tend to just ignore expensive dolls. Once we get around 1K I just can't justify a doll for that much money but I always wanted the Volks Yukinojo and he has remained my holy grail of male sculpts. I don't go for the really large guys even though I enjoy seeing them but they are just too big for me.

I saw Dahlia mentioned and having just returned from BJDC 2010 I finally can say I have seen one IRL. Beautiful doll but more than I would ever spend, and larger than I would ever want. I had some large porcelain dolls, as I have been collecting, for many many years, before BJDs were popular here. I mostly have sold or given them away as gifts or to charity. They were toddler size too and I just sat them on the living room furniture as they're too large to just put on a shelf. The Dahlia I saw had a stroller which was a cute idea for not having to carry that much weight around and it still showed her off very nicely,.

 

Anything from Loongsoul. I adore their sculpts, and I adore the poseable body, but 60cm and 75cm are just way too big for me. :'( *sadface*

 

Its Vesuvia,From Soom.she is my fav. doll and i thinck that she can be affordabel for me only if there will be THe ORder Cahnce for her on Soom like for Beryl and Io......T_T

 

Chiron from Souldoll. Because he fits nowhere in my Doll storyline. Goodness. I have no idea where to put him so sadly he will not be bought..........

 

The one doll I really want but will "may" never get because she doesn't exist, I don't think:

A Volks Suiseiseki in White Pureskin!

But I should never say never because maybe Volks will offer another one! Hint! Hint!

Like others on this thread, it's the Soom MD for me, especially Onyx and Topaz. I was struck by (Shadow) Onyx's face, and Topaz's translucent resin is so beautiful. But for both, cost is a big factor, and since they're monthly, by the time I saved up enough, they wouldn't be available anyway! @_@

I love all the Bishonen House dolls. They are expensive and extremely limited but the bodies! OMG! I'm hoping that one day the Bishonen dolls will be produced in larger quantities and more options of body parts etc. Until then I just go to their website and sigh.

 

I really like Volks Chris but he seems very hard to find and a bit expensive for what would be my first BJD.

 

SOOM Saiph, the sculpt is just so pretty with those lips n all, but ofcourse she's sold out. I just want her so badly. ;____; I don't have that much money at the moment either...but anyways, if someone is selling their Saiph someday, I sure hope I notice soon enought and get to snach her away before someone else does. I'll get her someday, I will. Surely.
And ofcourse there's a bunch of other soom dolls I'd very much like to have, but as most of them a monthlies I don't have much of a chance than getting them. I can desperately search DoA, sure, but still.

 

I would totally love to one day have these, though I doubt it'll happen.
