1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

SD/MSD relationships?

Jun 14, 2005

    1. I have a MSD girl and SD boy, but I want my next MSD girl to be his wife, sine the first one turned out to be like a sister to him. I personally like the height difference between them. It's boring to me to see a couple at the same height.

    2. I think it's OK when the age is similar... (not like a 9-year-old and a 24-year-old)

I also think the height difference is cool, and it brings some dynamics to the relationship! :aheartbea

Here's a pic of my Dollmore MSD boy, Jinlong (right) next to a Luts Junior Delf. (left; he's not mine) They're not a couple, but I liked the cool size difference. (Especially since their heads are somewhat close in size.) :)

And yes, there is a brownie on the Junior Delf's arm (She's not mine, either) :3

    3. I think it depends on the doll. Certain MSD scale dolls are designed to resemble children in body-type and facial structure. With a more Mature mini (which can be done through some of your own styling), it usually looks perfectly fine for an MSD girl to be paired with a 60CM-ish range boy.

Most of it falls onto you, and what you want.

    4. if it helps, I only reach under my husbands chest...he is 7 ft and I am 5ft 2...soooo..yes I am the MSD and he is the Super Senior SD i guess... so, according to how th edolly looks adn how you style it.. i think is perfectly ok... my DikaDoll Blanca dates an SD LoongSoul Ye fei XD..yet i styled her as a mature petite woman from India.

    5. I'm with most people here - it can definitely work! I mean, I reach to a little below David's shoulder. and I have friends taller than him (one is bordering 2 meters, lol, and I'm 1.58 meters)
It'd look a bit odd, perhaps, if the faces were hugely different in size, tho. But you wait until she arrives, and you can decide then. I would. :)

    6. I think it'd be a cute relationship, as long as she is a mature MSD. I think the height difference is realistic. ^^

    7. Yeah realism, even in real life couples is a bit weird XD...I know I look like a kid next to my husband, BUT i do style myself to look my actual age. So, in the world of BJD, is the same principle... she is petite, small boned and small framed, BUT a little woman nonetheless. In real life, I always get the odd looks when I walk with my daughter and husband...so...yah!

    8. I see no problem with the combination. I'm a fan of the girl looking a little more petite or a bit younger, as all my MSDs are girls, and I'm not a big fan of the feminine sculpts that most MSD boys seem to have. I agree that one shouldn't look too young, which sees like it could be frustrating

    9. This depends hugely on the scale of the dolls involved. I find most SD/MSD relationships to look inappropriate because it's not the height that matters it's the scale. The heads have to be similar sizes and they have to be in proportion, regardless of height.

My partner is almost 6 feet tall and I'm just under 5 feet, but I don't look like a child beside him because we're in the same scale.

    10. Also there's no reason you can't have a taller female doll. Everybody focuses on the tall man, short woman idea, but there are plenty of guys who still date tall girls. Not to mention, it would be okay anyhow, since they're dolls and you can do what you want with them.

    11. I find them cute together. My MSD Boy has a lot of SD friends.

    12. Is personal taste.. to avoid anything? I would NEVER post anything photo related... as with people depends on the doll and the personality infused into it... SADLY I am not in scale with my husband... therefore... OUCH.
