Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD. Would you want to find out your doll's past history?

  2. No. I'd let the doll start over - like a reincarnation, a fresh slate.

    1. I think it would be interesting to know. I just bought a second hand doll, but he didn't have anything done to him. I do know that was planned to have him modded, but it never happened. I doubt I'd go out of my way to research a doll's past history, but if something struck me as interesting I might.

    2. I don't bother. My doll now. :D Although I am a bit curious how a couple of dolls got so horrifically filthy. What on earth was done to them that resulted in so much dirt and grime, and why couldn't the previous owners take a moment to wipe them off before shipping them?

      That said:

      I did have the now-former owner of one doll I recently adopted ask me to send a photo when I have the little thing fixed up, to see what's become of her. And so I will once she's done (in-progress dolly). :)

    3. I have one second hand doll I know almost nothing about. I would love to find out when she was originally made, but my search has turned up nothing so far.

    5. I voted 'other' -- I'd be curious, but I wouldn't really go trawling for every last detail. With my Mera, I did ask her previous owner a bit about her character. I kept her face-up, but the character I have for her is very different and that's how I see her. With the others, I know pretty much nothing about Ace's background, and I know Tommi was a girl before I got him (AE Peppermint is a genderless sculpt). I'm fine with that, but it's not like I'd be adverse to finding out more about their previous characters. To me, my dolls represent their characters, but they're not irrevocably linked to them. If I decide to reshell my characters, the old dolls are just blank dolls again, and can shell other characters no problem.

    6. I would be curious but i would not stalk the previous owner and find out every last little detail about them. My girl Yua, is a second hand girl and though i am curious about her past all i know is that she came with a really bad face up:lol: , she is in her third home currently , and her old name was Evie. I am very curious though and if i knew their name i would ask.

    7. I have two second hand dolls. A KDF Summery 2010, and a Luts CP Soo.

      My Summery.... I've found photos of his previous life. He's had at least 2 previous owners, but I don't know what his name was, or what kind of character he used to be. He currently gets posted a lot and has a ton of photos. He'll have a loving forever home right here :)

      My CP Soo, I believe I'm her 2nd owner. I've only seen nude photos of her from her previous owner and I have no idea what she's done in her past life, but I believe she was loved. She still needs some restringing, but she is definitely loved here as well :)

    8. Sometimes I do. I've also looked up some of my dolls that have been sold. I like to see how different they look I guess. Some of the ways they cycle around is funny. Like an off topic doll I have, gotten from a friend who bought it secondhand who bought it from an auction etc etc... Original owner/painter? My boyfriend. Had her since before we started dating. Now she's sitting next to one of her sisters from his collection.
