Lol! I am on Nell's side regarding amphibians. I think they should be left to hop in peace, especially if they remain in the swamp and not where I can see them. I rarely see them in my yard; probably because there is a large Texas bull snake lurking about (which I see occasionally, gliding across my front porch) and I expect the froggies know he is here and wish to avoid him.
They are arent they.. she doesnt even need to wear them, they are just plain glass. She wears them for dramatic effect/affect
I think the glasses make her look very studious and a little annoyed, as if we have interrupted her study of amphibian behavior.
She sure doesn't look like she is wanting to share that donut! Yes, definitely a "why are you annoying me when I am trying to eat my donut" look. (I'm a little surprised Nell would eat such a donut! Isn't is awfully reminiscent of her great passion? Maybe she should stick to the pink iced ones. I'm pretty sure there are no pink frogs unless you count those blind cave ones!)
She didnt say she could not eat frogs or bits of the same, just that she objects to her "subjects" indulging
LOL! Oh, no, Nell! Say it ain't so! You wouldn't really eat a... (I can't even say it!)? Maybe she is sneaking up on him to surprise him and invite him for pancakes?
Nell looks too sweet to gig that froggie, but at my house, I keep my distance if I happen to spot any of the Secret sisters looking purposeful and carrying weapons. They have a small armory that they think I don't know about and I suspect they make use of the contents when they are out adventuring. I overheard them the other day having a lively discussion about sails and rigging, but they changed the subject abruptly when I walked into the room. I am very much afraid that something is up with them.
Nope, looks like frogs should be very afraid. Nell and the Babyfairies don't have some sort of secret frog trap in mind with snailbait, do they?
Okay, true story. Last night, a friend of mine's big bullfrog (she keeps a frog pond every summer and this guy is a couple years old and a monster) ate a chipmunk! She doesn't know if he got it alive or dead because she didn't find him, um, "indulging" until only the hind legs were going down his gullet! She even got some pictures. So, Baby Fairies, be VERY careful around bullfrogs! If one could eat a chipmunk, you would barely be a snack for one!
OOOh NOO!! I LOVE chipmunks! The ones who live here are so tame they sit on my back step and make noises until I come out and give them sunflower seeds. I suppose this doesn't bother Nell at all. I have never heard of a frog that eats small animals.
I guess if the frog is big enough it can pretty much eat what it pleases! But if that chipmunk was alive when he got it, I can't figure how he'd eat it without it ripping him to shreds - they've got sharp little teeth and claws. Maybe he found a way to drown it. I don't know that they go for prey that isn't moving, so if it was already dead he probably wouldn't have been interested in it. Ewww. It gives me shivers just thinking about it!
Yikes! This story grosses me out more than I can tell you. I'm glad that big old snake is gliding around through the underbrush at my house.
