1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Selling all of your dolls to buy one or two?

Nov 3, 2010

    1. This is how I feel, I've done exactly that. I've gotten rid of all my old dolls to replace them with two and I see nothing wrong with someone else wishing to do the same.

    2. My opinion on this is, if you WOULD sell all your dolls to buy one or two, you'll APPRECIATE those one or two more than you appreciate all the ones you have. So, go for it. It's also your stuff and your prerogative.

    3. I've done this...sort of. As a student I have next to no money for dolls so if I see one I want, I have to look to my curent collection. I've sold about 4 of my dolls recently to get some money together.

It has had the useful side ffect in that I have whittled away to the dolls that make up the core of my collection; there will always be those who never leave and it's a good way to find out who those dolls are.

    4. I'm currently selling all those which I..I'm not going to say I don't like them anymore, I just want a different look from the dolls I have. I am selling quite a few of mine to buy not as many back so...I guess you could say this is true for me!

    5. I think I may be about to do this. I have a doll collection that has been building for about 12 years, and is out of control. I am finding the BJDs are more fun to play with, so now I have to decide who goes, who stays...

    6. To be blunt, dolls are objects... though they feel like much more if you've gotten attatched. I probably wouldnt do it myself but i think its acceptable. To some people, some things matter more than others :)

    7. I am thinking of doing it right now...

    8. Maybe I'm weird... O.o But I don't think I could sell any of my current dolls, even for the opportunity of getting my dream doll(s). I don't condemn anyone who does this, by any stretch of the imagination, but I guess I'm more likely to try and save up for my dream doll(s) and keep the ones I have, rather than sell. *shrug*

    9. I prefer to have fewer dolls that are truly exceptional rather than break a shelf with tons of mediocre ones! I'm now consireding selling out my fashion dolls collection and investing money in BJD's. I believe that the less dolls, the better! I don't have enough time to share it between 70+ dolls...
