Senior Delf girls ANNETTE + BLANCHET

Sep 4, 2007

    1. I've been reading thid thread and sighing away =(.

It's really upsetting for some of you that the Senior Delf Girls do not have a body shape you find attractive, but I think it's unfair to categorise it as 'cheap Chinese' or 'annorexic'. Neither of those words are meant for offense, I know, but I don't believe they should be used in this manor.

I love the slim body, myself. I think it's very proportionate and I like that it doesn't have a huge backside or a chest that could poke someone's eye out. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade my Lishe's mature body for the world, but I am so happy the SNR Delfs are this way. I'll bet she looks fantastic in jeans!

I am slightly dissapointed in the hands as I think there is something 'off' about the way they are structured, but I doubt it'll matter too much. Yes, the joints are a little unnatural looking, but any double jointed doll generally is - it's the sacrifice you make for such great posing. The only way to keep bodies proportionate and have them bend that far is in the case of the Flexi body, which a some people are put off from the indents left for posability.

If you pose the SNR Delf girls in a way the old ones were posed, you would see it would look just fine. Most joints would be covered by clothing anyway.

I think it's very upsetting for Luts if people start telling them they don't like it. Why wopuld Luts want to resculpt somehting they were already proud of because a few people don't like it?

If the trend continues, I can forsee that there will be future body options for SNR Delfs as there was with Delfs - such as a less mature but same height of boy body and a smaller/larger bust body for the girls. Hands are something we've already have a glimpse of, as the boys have had two options so far. Patients is really required. It won't happen right away, but feedback especially from owners might make Luts consider selling other versions.

My personal oppinion is that Luts should not be made to feel bad about the creation before people have even had a chance to buy one - I am in love with Annette. I'd hate if Luts thought there was so much dissapointment it would be needless to release her!

And besides - maybe the washed-out photos are hiding more detail then we know. And maybe once we get owners we will have a better perception of the body?

I am not trying to police people on their oppinions, but I think calling them names and suggesting people tell Luts they don't like it is unfair for something they've worked so hard on. =/ I would think hard before even displaying constructive critisism - ie, leave positive to, such as: 'I adore Annette's beautiful face and the features of the Senior Delf girl body are beautiful! I wish her legs were slightly longer though.'

I am pleading - do not make a thread or e-mail specifically to list the pros and cons, or to say 'will you sculpt snother version, cus we don't like this one'.

Once more, I am speaking from the side that adores the bodies, but I would still hate to be a sculptist and recieve an e-mail like that.

    2. *drools* Annette is beautiful! Her face really has a shushu-ness to it...but i guess maybe thats why I'm gonna stalk this one... ^^

    3. I was never "out to get" anyone, and your body can't resemble that of a doll, because the doll's is almost per definition an exagerration of nature.
If you are skinny and healthy, that's fine by me, and then you are not in the group the Senior bodies made me think of immediately.

I have had two girlfriend with anorexia, and the bodies of Sen.Delf Girls reminded me of them immediately, and did not remind me of someone skinny and healthy/beautiful like say, Christina Aguillera. Had that been the case I wouldn't have a problem with the bodies at all.
One of these girls died, so I know it's NOT just a 'look'. Thank you for implying I'm totally ignorant. That was pretty uncalled for. *_*

Let's just say it's a matter of taste, and in this case more people dislike it than like it... and everyone has their own associations with the new body proportions from their own life's experiences.

    4. This isn't true, it isn't like "double joints looks bad and you can't make them look good" looks at Gentaro Akari Unoa zero double joints, I see just poor efforts putted in this doll body, like if the sculptor just wanted it to be posable but didn't care if the joints looked bad, but it's just IMO.

So now customers can't say they don't like a product and suggest some changes to improve it? If you don't accept criticism how can you improve something?

It's not like Luts(or must we say Cerberus Project) will not release something because some people said they don't like it, but if they release something that few persons like and don't sell well its just a loss of money and a damage to the company. There isn't anything wrong by suggesting some changes.

IMO they are very little detailed but its hard to be 100% sure with such pics.

Sorry, without offense but it's like you are asking us to pretend to live in fairy world where nobody say what he/she dislike, Personally I really dislike when people just tell me something I made is nice without the will to criticism it fearing to offend me, it's something people usually do with kids, an adult should accept constructive criticism, he/she may agree or not but be offended by something like this is just childish.

      Yet all is IMHO

    5. I dunno....thing is, I'm 20, I eat normally, after having 1 kid I kinna have a body like the Senior delf girls so I want her for my minimee head.... (Does this mean I'm anorexic and have the body of a 13yr old 0_o? Well, I am "only" about 49kg 167cm and in UK considered anorexic type weight vs height vs BMI, I can assure you I have no eating problems, I just hardly put on any weight...) and I like the body 0_o......maybe it's not the western norm body type but I think that sort of frame is common in oriental women at least....

.....And if we start talking about proportions in dolls well....that's a bit silly as all the dolls are out of proportion....

I do admit the knee joint looks ugly....ew....

But I still like it, for me poseability>what they look nekkid

I would like to see what they look like from behind....hmm...

ETA: And anyway, imo Seniors all look on the skinny side, imo the men look more "anorexic" then the girls do, you can clearly see their rib cages.....so really I think seniors are meant to be very skinny in general.... ._.

    6. Sorry to OT,

I second on what you have pointed out too.
It's true that this sort of frame is common in oriental women. Generally, asian women are on the smaller, skinner side and it's perfectly normal. Most of my friends are like what Senior girls are and they are all healthy and normal. but unfortunately, i'm on the bigger side, or you call that, big bone structure compare to those petite girls out there. :sweat

    7. Oriental should not be used to characterize people, it is not PC, please use Asian.
As my mamma used to say "orientals are carpets, not people".

    8. fitz: I guess not all people's first language are english ^ ^;;;, so they don't intend to mean or refer Asian = Orientals = Carpents.
I speak chinese more than english. Thanks for the enlightenment.

    9. Well I'm so sorry not to be PC lolz..... *roll eye* well thing is, some asian countries, there are different avarage female body shapes that are not what I mean (like I dunno, India is asia but they have different body frames to us) that is why I didn't say asian. >_>

    10. i find the bodies alright! i've seen some of my friends having such nice bodies. XDDD

But the boobs are totally LOL to me. too sharp >.>

    11. The thin bodies or her young appearance don't bother me as much as the fact that her head is somewhat proportionally off and looked bobble-headed on said body. Although I guess if she has a wider frame then the head won't look as large >_>...

I do still think the knees are poorly executed and take away from overall aesthetics, even when she's just normally sitting down. They aren't curved like single-jointed Delfs are, but has this gap between the kneecap and the peanut joint that makes the knee looks more broken and flattened out when bent.

That said, the head sculpts are still beautiful for both girls, and I agree with WolfeClaw that Luts shouldn't be spammed with emails negatively criticizing their works even before a doll's release. We should however, be able to make some suggestions to them in the future (like, Elf Moons XDD).

    12. Uh... I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying ><; Sorry, I was very tired when I wrote thst... let me make it more clear:

As an artist, anything I showcase is something I am proud of to at least some level. When someone comes along and list the faults, it hurts. But if it's something I REALLY poured my heart into, it's even distressing.

When Luts released the Senior Delf girls, they were clearly something they (or CP, whatever) had been very proud of - or they would never have released it.

No, I'm not saying we should live in a 'fairy world' - as you said - and not complain about the things we like or dislike. But this is something several artists worked really hard on for several months at least. I don't believe people should send them e-mails etc. listing their faults, before they are even released. People are less likely to e-mail specifically to say they are great, and besides, the down always seems bigger than the up.

I just think if people are going to send a critisism to them, they should wait to get the more true owner pictures first and at least let the girls be out for a little while. As byouyuuken said, the doll hasn't even been released yet, give it time!

And I agree that suggestions could be made - certainly!

      'I would like a bigger/smaller busted version'
'Any plans for Elf Moon? Elf Seniors?'
'It would be nice if there was a version/add-on with...'

      etc.

And the double joints - I've never owned a double jointed doll (although I'm waiting for my Dion). The ones I have seen do not retain a realistic shape. I have seen very little of the Unoa Zeros, but withoput looking, their sculptist has simply amazing talent. I can imagine he would have spent years developing something like them and has tried several methods specifically to achieve this, whereas I know Luts had posability in mind (I believe because there have been comments made about Delf posing).

Anyway, I personally love the girls and their beautiful model-like figures. The things highlighted in this thread that people do not like either don't matter to me or I know it will be irrelevant to me ^_^

I can't wait to get my girl in jeans!

    13. I love the annette so much the more I see her the more I like her, but the body drives me nuts. I have nothing againt the body type itself, its very cute and diffrent and more real in many ways, but its those darn joints, they make me cringe whenever I see her posed, elbows and knees don't look like that, now I know people have said tis easyer to pose, but to me it just looks wrong. I don't expect a doll to be perfect but the ball knees and elbowd worked the soft edges squares though look like there are bones and joints that don't exsist :(

    14. annette has such a cute nose

      *_*

actually i think the body proportions are fine but the neck's too long.

      I love annette!

    15. Hey it got a bit off topic there with everyones opinions and trying to validate opinions, let's get back to the general senior topic and leave all the other stuff for the dolly debate threads.

Any more Blanchet love yet? *tumbleweed*

    16. I love both Annette and Blanchet equally, but I think I'll be perchasing Blachet first and then Annette ^_^ Then send a head to Yumedust to have fun with ^_^

    17. Really? Can I ask what makes Blanchet appeal to you more than Annette initially?
(Please everyone don't start fighting about which one is better!! lol)

    18. I like Annette. I've been poking around for a girl to go with my Abio Angel San for a while, and I think she'll go perfectly.
It's not that I want them to "match", I'd just rather they look somewhat proportionally the same. This is a bit difficult, because Roland has a wide mouth, long fingers and feet, but he's rather skinny and leggy - Kinda Clamp-ish. Annette has a wide mouth (compared to most girl dolls) and just looks more "grown-up" than Blanchette. She also look like she has longer hands and feet, which is just what I'm looking for! ^_^

    19. I wonder what boy bodies would match for Annette's head?

      Maybe the Delf ones...?

As much as everyone doesn't like the female Senior Delf bodies, I don't like the MALE Senior Delf bodies. Not at all!

    20. Agreed!

I am going to have my girl body modded into a boy. Yay transgender dollies.
