I just payed off my doll, so hopefully she will come home soon. So excited to see her.

Thank you! She's wearing a size 6-7 "Charlene" Monique Gold wig. I found the 6-7 works really well. I was lucky not to have to buy a new batch of wigs since my DC kids wear the same size

Have people placed clothes-only orders from Serenade's website before? I was just wondering if they've gone smoother than the doll orders have been, because I'm thinking of buying some of these clothes and stockpiling them for when I get around to ordering an actual doll - there's more than a few pieces I'd hate to miss out on. Perhaps I should just go through Jeeryama to get them instead. Vesuvia you'll have to report back on how your order went

The Artifical Bird is completely gorgeous!!! The carving and embossing on the body is just beautiful. I wasn't actually expecting it to be a buyable doll, I just thought it was a personal project. Makes me want a Serenade doll even more that I already did. Although I can't work out how she's strung through the torso, I can't see any elastic in the photos. Unless the leg string doesn't actually go up to the head at all, just up one leg, through the hips and down the other leg.

 

OMG I've been waiting for these outfits to come out ever since I saw the first picture circulate around Tumblr. I'll definitely buy some leggings and maybe the translucent backpack. Don't see the striped trousers or the sheer jacket up yet so I'll wait so I can buy them all together.

Does anyone dare order her from the site? Has Serenade started reliably filling orders again?

 

I ordered her directly from the site. My payment went through without any issues, and my order was confirmed. Now to wait anxiously and hope there are no problems getting her.

 

I ordered my girl directly and there were no problems. Everything went smoothly, all my items were there (I basically ordered everything), and arrived exactly on time - a week early, actually.

Just uh, don't expect any sort of communication. It feels a little impersonal, but you know, maybe they're just the creative silent type...

Vesuvia, that's good to hear. I don't usually expect any communication from companies apart from confirmation and shipping emails and even then I've had times when I didn't get either. So long as my order actually arrives intact, I don't mind too much.
So if Serenade are starting to fill orders smoothly then I think I'll start saving for my girl... and ALL the option parts...

 

I couldn't decide between the hands! And you know, $7 is not to bad a'tall. The prices are good.

Also, as an afterthought, I never received any communication from them. Not even a confirmation of order or payment email. So, just in case anyone orders directly, they don't send you anything...at least they didn't for me. I just checked on my online account status. That was updated.

 

I think making the order and paying has never been an issue- just getting the order filled. But maybe since there is a limited number they won't have so much difficulty. The doll is gorgeous...and the extra hands and clothing are so inexpensive.

My first order arrived exactly on time, but my second order they lost, and didn't respond to any communications until I had to open a paypal dispute. Kind of a bummer actually since I love the company.

 

I just placed a second order the other day, hopefully they've gotten the tweaks all worked out by now. I'll keep y'all updated. <crosses fingers>

I am very tempted by the doll. She is amazing, but it is not very clear to me. They said that the full set doll with everything is 1023.00, but then when you start adding shoes, clothes, make up, wig and the chair the price is automatically growing.So, what is the real price?

 

I haven't been able to find any info on the sites and I'd like to know before she is gone, but do they do layaway? I really really want Artificial Bird but that's a lot all at once!

 

I can't believe the price of the extra hands and the clothing really, especially compared to other doll companies - I've already spent way too much on alternate hands for my current dolls. The only problem is that all those little bits add up; I added a doll and all the parts I wanted to the basket and checked the price and with shipping, I've already hit $850 BEFORE adding any clothing!! I hope their resin matching is good from batch to batch because I think I'm going to do it in several separate orders!

Wow that's terrible, what was in the order they lost? Not a doll I hope!

How I think it works is this:
When you choose the 'Full Set' option on the sales page, the price goes to $1023 and your order will then automatically include everything listed further down the page under the 'full set' part. (Doll, faceup, body painting, clothing, shoes, wig, resin accessories and the free gift of the painted chair) You wouldn't then need to select the other individual options as well, except for maybe the extra Nightingale head as that doesn't seem to be part of the full set.
Similar thing if you chose 'Full Set without makeup... etc" You'd then get everything apart from the faceup, body painting and the gift chair. If you did want the chair then you would select it from the dropdown menu and add $75 to the total price.
The other options are likely there if you wanted a different combination of things rather than everything, such as if you wanted just the basic doll and the wig for example. I'm not sure what happens if you do choose 'Full Set' and then selected another option as well, such as the shoes. Whether you'd get an extra pair or not I don't know If all the parts are limited, then maybe not.

That's how it all reads to me anyway. I hope that made sense, I'm not always the best at explaining things!

Their ebay agent Jeeryama has already listed the Artificial Bird and they do layaways on the other Serenade dolls, so I'd recommend contacting them and asking

 

Just noticed these girls, wow they are perfect in every way!

Does anyone know if Charlotte is a limited head that is sold out, or if she a side project that was never available.. or maybe she will become available soon?

As far as I know, Charlotte hasn't be available for sale as of yet. Of course it could be that I missed her completely which would be a shame as I'm intrigued by the little vampire teeth that she has on flickr.
Perhaps she's going to become another special limited doll, the same way that the Mugen head is now the Artificial Bird head.

 

I want the Charlotte head so bad. I like vampire teeth, but I hate the teeth sitting on lips look most every company does for "I'm not that dextrous at painting" reasons hahaha

 

Zaliayn, thank you so much for explanation. It makes sense now. I am so tempted, but i just payed off my Serenade doll. The layaway would be nice at this point.
