1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Serendipity Mini including Sharmin discussion thread

Feb 21, 2005

    1. Ah, my doll friend & I were exploring K-Mart and found the mother lode of Teen Trends outfits. They have the full line of the new ones, plus the closet sets and shoe paks. (far cheaper than they're selling on ebay) KMarts are scare anymore, but if there's one nearby, it might be worth a trip if you're interested in those. The shoes are brilliant--I got the punk style ones: two studded slides and a pr of red tennies.

    2. Hi!
I'm new. I'm saving and have been researching for about 3 weeks trying to decide which doll to buy first. I think I've narrowed it down to Dollmore Sharmin or Narae. So next was to see what kind of clothes were out there. It seems as it is hard for both. I looked at Kid Dollmore Aidan but her head seems big but I love her eyes. I'm sooo confused!

      Help!

    3. My Serendipity Valencia arrived today (on a Saturday!) from dollmore.
I ordered him March 1st, and he arrived March 25th.
He was shipped on the 24th.

I recommend Dollmore all the way. They answered all my questions quickly <3

He came in a simple black box. No logo, or stamp, but very elegant.
The cushions are to die for. *___* They feel like silk, and are perfectly stuffed. There is two in the box, but one is the perfect mattress.
Then the certificate of authenticity. It is beautiful too, with a black marble back round, and a butterfly motif. It is laminated too. Mine begins with '06th'
Maybe Shuichi is the 6th Valencia in all?

    4. He was wrapped well in bubble wrap, and had extra padding around his arms, hands and head. They were held on by clear rubber bands/elastics.

Along wit being wrapped up in bubble wrap, his head has a bent slurpee cover, and a wig net over his face. His wig was attached with velcro, and he arrived with brown eyes!<3 They are acrylic, but very nice. They are full-rounds, and I would recommend those as the eye wells do not accommodate much other than the eyes.
His hands are gorgeous and delicate. He has fingernails, and his right hand is different than the left.

His legs are really unique. They are in four pieces: the joint, thigh, calf and foot. Instead of the whole thigh moving, it rotates just below it.
The joint has a locking 'edge' that helps him sit up. I think the MSDs do too?

The thigh is very hollow, making the resin pretty thin.

The feet and hands hook on with s-hooks. However, the side of the joints are drilled, and the metal bar is put through there. On the side of the wrists are holes where the resin was drilled.
His legs also have a locking 'edge' and indented thighs so they can do the suwarikko pose.

His head is a faceplate. There is two 'legs' on the back on the head, where the S-hook sits. The faceplate snaps on, but be careful, the 3 magnets are STRONG.

When I first opened the head, a resin chunk fell out. One of the legs that hold the s-hook broke, and had to be super glued back on. One of his eyelashes were coming off

His posing is okay, because his torso is not jointed. I had difficulty posing him on the carpet, but I think it has to do with how narrow and small his feet are compared to my Customhouse Bin. I got him standing on my laptop easily.
His hands are so perfect *_* They pose wonderfully, even better than DOD and Customhouse. You move them, and they stay
His resin is gorgeous. It is nice and rosy-pale, and compared to my memory of my DOD (who I sold) it is a lot better. It is so perfect and smooth, I love stroking him :3

The makeup is gorgeous, right down to the fine lips on his eyebrows and lips.

I fell in love with him instantly, despite being stressed out with gluing back the s-hook holder and his eyelashes. He is so pretty and full of attitude, he is definitely worth his money :D
Serendipity is a bit slimmer than MSD and DOD. He fits into Teen Trends, but the pants are the teeniest bit too small for him, and they open at the back when he sits down.

You can post here or PM me with any questions or photo requests ^_^

    7. I would suggest contacting dollmore for a replacement back head if one piece broke off that holds the bar on (which holds the whole body stringing system) superglue may come unstuck thats allot of pressure!

    8. Once you've had him for a while, posing him will become easier ^_~. I had a bit of a hard time with my Valencia at first because I was used to my DoC, but I love posing him now. Those three fold joints are fun!

Oh and, about the "06th" on the certificate, I don't think it means he's the 6th one because mine says that too.

    9. I'm still kinda new (okay, so really new), so sorry if I've entered this in the wrong place ^^;...

I am trying to order shoes for my Serendipity Sharmin, but I have found that shoes her size are near impossible to find ><... Does anybody know whether MSD shoes will fit Sharmin? Or any good Sharmin sites, for that matter?

      Thank you so much ^-^...

    10. Yes they do but they are big. But if you stuff the toes with cotton they will be fine.

DOC - MSD size shoes on my Alice.

Poor girl is waiting for her new CanCan wig.

Luts Mini Fee shoes fit really well, no stuffing necessary. Dollmore has shoes for Sharmin size dolls as well.

    11. i tried cutie delf shoes and they are a bit small but fit quite ok!
^^ some mini fee shoes are too big!
some Teen Trends shoes are perfect ^^
msd shoes are really big (DOC is smaller) angelregion shoes/souldoll/kid delf are huge on her!

    12. Great! Thank you so much! And MsHatbox, She's beautiful! I LOVE her shoes (I have the same ones for ME! ^-^) And thank you so much Stella di Carta!

Does anybody know about Leeke shoes? Too narrow?
      I'm off to buy shoes!

    13. I would have to agree about staying away from MSD shoes... they're way to big. Although sometimes it can look cute, when they're boots that are super clunky! :whee: Generally speaking, you can get away with anything Mini Fee or Unoa sized.

The one thing no one mentioned is American Girl Hopscotch Hill outfits--which are no longer in production, but you can find them on ebay all the time (and they still have some stuff for sale super cheap at americangirl.com, just go to 'shop' and search for 'hopscotch').

The postman just brought me the two I ordered (1 and 2) and they fit my Serendipity Alice PERFECT! And they're super cute too, very high quality. :D The clothes are too baggy for her, IMO, but the stockings and panties and other goodies that come with them fit perfect. A good deal, if you ask me, since most places that sell the right size sell them for $30-50 themselves, and you have to pay like $20 to ship them from korea~ *_*

And yeah, Leeke doll shoes should be too small, cause their feet are like 1cm shorter I think. Hope this helps~ have fun! :whee:

    14. I love this photo!! She really looks like she saying, "Okay. Sooooo where is it!!"
      She's so darn cute. ^^

    15. lol that photo is priceless XDDDDD

    16. Ai, I am so glad I found this thread!
I love Sharmin, I believe she could be my favorite mini ever. However, I have the "old type" body. I did not even know about the new body until I went to order the I.S.M.Y. Boy. I have to say, I prefer the old body... the new one, I feel, looks too pink and, like honeyedbiscuit said, plasticy....

Is the fact that the "new body" has more possible poses worth the drastic changes? Ugh... What do you guys think? Until I've made up my mind, I can't order my boy*tear*... Does anyone have pictures of the I.S.M.Y. boy? Please, I need some advice!
      Thank you!

    17. Okay, so I have had my Serendipity Valentine for a couple weeks now and I've tried various wigs on him... none of them fit.

      The only wig that fits is a fur wig I had made for him. Does anyone know of a place where I can buy wigs to fit him? They say he's a 7-8, but none of the 7-8 wigs I bought him fit >>;;

If anyone has a Charles or one of the other Mini's, please let me know where you get your wigs o.o!

    18. hrm... I ahve a serendipity girl and her head is SMALLL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try a 6-7 on him instead..... thats what she wears... and wickedwigs makes GORGEOUS ones :>

      Seek peace

      Carol

    19. Thats what I was always told.. but his head is BIG! He can't even be remotely squeezed into my Asha's 7-8 wig o.o; I don't get it (T_T)

    20. My Serendipity Alice fits about 6.5 to7 - a size 6 wig I got was way too small, size 6-7 fits best. Don't know if that helps. :daisy
