1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Serendipity Mini including Sharmin discussion thread

Feb 21, 2005

1. Thanks Ann. That will be fun. I just have a thing for wigs and I can't wait to buy her some. tAre you going to make the one in December?

Laura

2. I'll have to check how far down in NJ that one is--the long drive can get me, and what my schedule is.

I'll be trying to. :)

For people not understanding this, Laura & I are both in the "tristate angels" yahoo group for meets & socializing of the NJ/NY/CT tristate area & anyone else who might make it to one of our meets. Our last meet had someone fly in from California, but that isn't typical.

3. Just wanted to let you all know that I got my Noel the other day and I just love, love, love her. She poses like a dream, stands easily, is go adorable and I just adore her. I've bought her some Teen Trends clothes to start her off and they fit great. She doesn't have a face up yet as I bought the head and body separately without eyes, wig, face up. Even without face up she is adorable. Now i really need to get her wigs that fit and give her a face. Thanks everyone for your input. Anyone know if the Ajumapama wigs fit in the Unoa/Sharmin size or the MSD size?

Hugs,
Laura

4. Congratulations on your Noel. She is such a lovely. :D

5. Thanks Rinabell. Your Stasia was one of the reasons I decided to get a Noel. She is so adorable.

Hugs,
Laura

6. Hi Grace, I hope you can help I think it was you that had some Willow and Daisy clothes for sale a while back. Can you still get them or was it a one off.Sorry if I have the wrong person.Hope every one had a nice christmas and all the best for 2006.Jackie;)

7. Along with what everyone else has said, another type of clothing that is commercially availible are Mattel Teen Trends line. All the Teen Trends clothing will fit her (even the shoes!). ^^
Just about anything branded for Unoa will fit, though sharmins hips are a tad smaller. I bought a skirt made for Unoa, and it almost falls off her.

8. Groovy Girls will fit her as well. Also, SOME Tonner Tyler and Gene fashions (tops only) will fit too.

9. Who are Willow and Daisy? Are they specific dolls?

10. Yes, they were made by Somers and Fields a while back. They are not being made anymore but their clothes do fit Sharmin. Cute, too!

11. I have squeezed my Kristamin into Tyler pants--she just cannot sit down:D I have a pair of Becky Colvin for Tyler jeans that Ijust love on Kristamin, keeps her legs from going all spastic-y too!!

Some pics of her in Tyler duds:
I especially like the orange-y outfit on her!!

12. Well, another question about shoes for Sharmin. Shoes that I do find are attractive, but isn't the proper size, and ridiculously out of proportion. I have a few shoes that are either too big, too wide, too long, or just all of them. I'd really rather not sand down her big toe in order to fit into Cutie Delf shoes, but was tempted to buy a pair just to see if I'd really actually need to. But she'll end up wearing socks/stockings, so it might really not fit. I just don't want to buy yet another pair of shoes, and end up in disappointment.

The shoes that I bought "MSD" sized were just all wrong.

Any help and consideration is greatly appreciated.

13. I've got several pairs of Unoa-size shoes from Ajumapama, and they all fit wonderfully. I've never had any problems with them being to large.

14. Those Luts high heel pumps are a little big on MiniFee, too, FWIW!

Good luck!!

15. There's a thread called "Mini Product Review" that you can add your reviews to if you find yourself writing more in the future. It helps if everything is all in one thread, so people don't have to try to search all over the board if they have a similar question. ^_^

16. Ah okay. Sorry about that. I'm still kind of new to this forum. I just wasn't sure where to put what since I was talking about more than one thing. Perhaps I should have made more than one entry then. I'll keep it in mind next time.

If they are made for Mini Fee, why would it be too big for them? Hmm..

And no, I haven't tried the Sharmin shoes from Dollmore. I just...really don't like any of them...ha. Have you? It would be nice to know if certain shoes for certain dolls actually fit who they are suposed to.

17. I bought some of the "lace dream" mini feé shoes in brown, and while slightly long, they still fit because of the ankle strap. I haven't tried any of the other ones, but if I buy others and they're too big, unless they look wayyy out of proportion, I think the good solution is to put socks.

Part of the reason a lot of unoa specified shoes don't fit sharmin is because Sharmin's feet are a bit slimmer, and her heel is less round, making unoa specified shoes usually a bit spacey, even though if you draw a line around both dolls' feet, there is hardly any difference. So really, the difference is more shape than size.

You seem to be getting a bit frustrated with how hard it is to find shoes for your girl, and that's understandable, as I've gone through the same thing, and it is really hard to find shoes that fit her well. But that's just part of owning a less popular doll, that it will be harder to find things that fit her. The challenge of finding suitable items is just part of the territory. IMO, your best bet is to find out what people who've tried the shoes on a sharmin say about them, even if it's rare, and you may even have to end up spending money just to research what kinds of shoes fit her (unfortunately). It sucks, but that's the only surefire way to make sure you'll have shoes that fit her :/ (and if there's shoes you buy that don't fit, you can always sell them).

18. Haha...I guess I am a bit frustrated. It shows too much?

Thank you for the information, though. Hmm...but since it says that those "lace dream" shoes are 5.4cm inside, and still a little long for her, and the ones I want, the "tiny angel" says 6cm inside, I guess I shouldn't get the "tiny angel" ones then?

19. Forgive me if this has been addressed elsewhere, I tried searching and turned up nothing...

Kitsune's a serendipity Sharmin. I love her to pieces, but am the first to admit that her body's not the best or most posable. I've been intrigued looking at people's posts of their ISMY boys and girls, and was wondering how similar in scale they were to Sharmin. Has anyone tried switching heads to see if Sharmin will fit an ISMY body?

...alternately, what modifications has anyone made to the Sharmin body to make it more versatile? I sanded at the backs of her ankles to make her a little bit more high-heel friendly, but haven't had the gumption to attack anything else in/on her.

Thanks in advance, everyone!

20. I have the same problem, actually. :( I looked into the ISMY body, but although the head will probably fit perfectly, the resin doesn't match at all. Serendipity changed their resin to a very pale rosy shade that's nothing like the old yellowish colour.

I'm planning on buying an extra Serendipity body from Dollmore and using it to practice on. I have several mods in mind, based on what I've seen of some of the super-poseable dolls like THAASA and Volks' SDC. When I get around to doing this, I'll be sure to post all the information I can about how it works out.
