1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Shall - disappointment

Feb 14, 2006

    1. erk~! I asked for light brown... I hope she comes that way. I'll love her regardless of her face-up, but it will save me a lot of time and trouble if she comes the way I requested... I'm not entirely sure I would have ordered the make-up from them if I knew it would come as the default.

      However, it's a bit more like ordering a Royal Guard Yder with the special Art Delf face-up, and getting a regular Delf face-up. It's stilll the same doll shape underneath, and in a few weeks/months/years, when the face-up comes off, the doll will be waiting for it's perfect look.

      I think they are just over-extended ^_^ They seem to really be trying, but are getting ahead of themselves. ...

    2. aw im sorry that is very disapointing! id be very depressed if that were to happen to me T.T im sorry that had to happen!

    3. I agree. It seems like ever since they came out with the DOTs they've been racking up the disappointments. They have such beautiful dolls, it's a shame they've cut out so many things they used to offer. Custom face-ups, seam sanding, the big tanning doll fiasco... I still want a doll from them, but it's sad they can't be more on the ball.

    4. The sanding can be explained with too many people complaining about the wait... as for the tanning fiasco... not sure, since they had a tan before these DoTs... and as for the DoTs... it's an entirely new market. I agree, they are slipping a lot now because it seems that maybe the business is too much for a company as small as DoD... how many people work there now?

    5. Erm...the sanding thing ain't really helping the wait. I think the shortest wait time for a DOT since January 1, when the 4-week wait was to come into effect, has been 8 weeks. They also stoppped sanding before they announced it and didn't sand their pre-announcement orders. And realistically, sanding doesn't take 4 weeks so there's no reason cutting sanding should cut four weeks off the wait time. Cutting it is their choice, yes, but...having that be the reason of 'if we don't sand, you'll get your doll 4 weeks earlier!' doesn't add up.

      Personally as soon as my boy arrives, gods willing he isn't damaged in shipping, I will have nothing more to do with DOD until they improve in their customer service. A lot of what's going on is just down right unacceptable.

    6. same goes for me....ow god i SO hope my boy will arrive in good shape >_<;

    7. Actually, just from my point of view, when you put it like that, it makes me feel less bad. They cut a bunch of stuff that I didn't care much about anyway. ^_^

      If you look over in the Waiting thread, people seem to be getting their shipping notices faster and faster, so even if sanding is only a portion of the problem, they seem to be catching up and doing what they need to be doing to keep competative and become more efficient.

    8. I think they sound terribly overworked (Poor dears...) but it also seems that quite a few people are holding out on their orders until the waiting time goes down, etcetera, so maybe they're just starting to get on top of things with the reduced number of orders? It does sound like they could do with more staff, though.

      I'll still be ordering Too and Bee-A once I have the money, and the face-ups don't matter so much to me as I want to do my own, but I'd rather not wait three months for them...
