Shinydolls are worth every cent. I can't explain the joy I get just from seeing how my girls feet position, lol.
Me too, I have to wait until the beginning of the year to order mine, but she's first on the Wish List.
I too am waiting until after the new year to order more dolls. Hikali is on my wish list and I'm looking to get her around April-May.
Hey, DOI SHIN, I have something to ask you. How often does Shinydolls resin color change? If I get only the heads sculpts I want and get the bodies like... 5 months after the heads will their resin tone still match (not counting possible yellowing, of course)? And I see Hikali head is not avaliable on your site, when will she be avaliable again?
Hi, Arisha-san, Basically ShinyDOLL's color recipi has not changed at all. But "color" material itself changes very little according to their production lot. even if the differece is much smaller than that of between different companies'. The reason Hikali head is not available now is the stock number of Hikali head is very small and all of them are now connected to Fragille bodies. But if Shinydoll got an order of the Head, ShinyDOLL can manufacture it , having some days. Please send an email to shinydoll or dealers about special order.
Dear Stella Maris Before I got my much loved Fragille Hikali, I had size 6/7 wigs ready for her, but none of them fit! Since then, she has acquired many more, all in size 7/8, from various makers. I think that size 7/8 will be best for the Hikali head.
Shin-san, you mentioned over in the Thaasa discussion thread that you gave the Fragille body better stability in the lower half. Will you release a new Fragille body? If not can you tell us how you tuned the body for more stability? My Suzune is one of my favorite dolls and I would love for her to have just a bit more stability in her lower half. I'm still saving up for Hikali! Maybe my husband will help me get her for my birthday in May. He uses a lathe at his job and was very interested in the making of the Fragille body on a lathe. edit: I just re read your post and realized that you didn't just tune the body but made an entire new lower half! Still I would be interested if you have any tips on increasing the stability of my Suzune.
renee_chan san, Thank you for your query.^^ Exactly saying, I remade only ONE part. It's lower body part, which has NAVEL. I also exchanged the rubber strings for body-leg to stronger ones. ShinyDOLL is happy to offer them as option for the first Fragille body by 4500JPY&shinpping(1200JPY to north America). In case of Fragille part exchange is needed. In case of Pricco grinding of hip parts and lower-body are needed. I decided to call the improved Fragille as " Fragille-e"(elegant) About lathe, I use lathe many times while I am making the original sculpt. After molding, I use lathe for digging the rubber string hole aculate, becuase the hole of casted parts are closed in molding pricess.
Shin-san I am looking forward to seeing the new Fragille-e lower body part! I may try to find some stronger strings for my Suzune to see if that improves the stability but if not I may decide to replace the lower body part. It is so nice that you are always trying to improve the bodies that you make ^^ Do you know if you plan on making more heads for the Fragille line? Maybe an elf head, like a little sister for Yakki or Eefee? I love my ShinyDoll elves so much and would just absolutely love for them to have a little sister!
renee_chan-san, if you try to exchange rubber strings, please follow the line below. ..string with excesss diameter will ruin the stability. it will be floppy or kickky. ..I recommend not to exchange ARM strings. Only body to leg strings, please. ..I hope the diametter is less than 120%. ..locate the KNOT of the strings to remain inside of UPPER TORSO. The difference between old and new LOWER TORSO is a very suttle thing. It's hard to show the defference by photo. but the posing difference apparently exists. babytarragon-san would be the first preson who check and experience the improved posability. I hoope she would comment it here. I would deffinitely like to make elf fragille head this year. ^^
Shin-san, I can't wait to see the improved Fragille body Like renee_chan, I am also wondering about future heads. Are there any plans to make more mature looking heads for Fragille? Are there any plans for making jointed hands for Fragille (or Thaasa)?
miravisu-san, I am now making the first Fragille-e, now. Outer look is almost the same. But the stability is different. I am now interested in ELF fragille head. Does jointed hand means "right and left hands jointed together", I am afraid I do not have the plan now. Anyway, head making needs months of time... ^^);;
Shin-san, yes, improved stability is always a good thing. I hope head making will progress well! I am sorry if I was not clear enough. With jointed hands I mean hands that have bendable finger joints. So to be more exact, hands with jointed fingers, but most call them "jointed hands" Using google's image search function, you can see examples here
