Short hair or long hair?

Jun 13, 2020

    1. Short hair I only have one doll with long hair, and she's the only one worth all the fiddliness of keeping a long wig lookin right lol Everybody else gets short, easy maintenance 'dos.

    2. Long hair always :aheartbea

    3. I put my dolls in both short and long hair. It just depends on what "look" I'm going for at that moment.

      Myself - Long hair .

    4. I love long hair for dolls, usually. Have tried a short hair wig on mine but didn't really like the look of it, but maybe it's just the doll or hair itself. I like longer hair on myself too.

    5. I don’t have too much of a length preference, moreso that its circumstantial depending on the doll. I guess it matters moreso to me about the style and color to me than length, but all three are important factors! Irl my hair length is usually just at the shoulders because it’s convenient so I don’t really think it influences my doll choices.

    6. For my dolls, the clothes dictate the overall look of the hair; either being long, medium, or short hair. In general, I don't have a length preference due to the versatility of wigs for BJDs. It is so easy to change doll's look by putting another wig. For pictures, I will even put on make-up on the dolls face and then quickly remove to not permanently stain the resin. LOL

As for me, I am a long-haired kind of gal. Although in the past I have dabbled with a short pixie cut. :wiggle

    7. It depends. I love short full bobs on dolls but only have two girls with that style right now. Most of my dolls have long hair even though I don't like it on myself irl. Human hair disgusts me, even my own! Doll hair is different somehow. I love to brush out and detangle doll hair and wigs. It's so soothing and satisfying.

    8. All the dolls I have with hair right have long hair. It's partly because they were the wig that came with them, or because the long unstyled wig was cheaper than getting anything else. I personally have shorter hair, that I sometimes will grow out, because after about a couple months of long hair I get frustrated with it. So it's kind of nice having the long hair on my dolls to live vicariously through them most of the time lol

    9. I have a weakness for long hair. I like to play with them (I have only boy dolls)

    10. I strongly perfer long on my dolls both male and female. But long curly wigs are the worst for staying un-messy so sometimes when I travel with dolls to a meetup or whereever I put them in a bob length wig or one that's straight. I do have some layer-y boy wigs for the guys.

    11. I find long wigs an utter nightmare to handle so I tend to prefer short(er) styles. Anything not to have to constantly detangle them! I do have one long-long wig that I put up with but I don't really keep it on any dolls permanently - it can be cool for photoshoots but maybe not for constant normal play. Curly wigs will be an absolute nope from me in any length, I do not want to put money on something that is so hard to maintain.

    12. I like both but enjoy playing with long hair ^^ Which I guess makes sense since I tend to grow out my hair till it’s too long then cut it lol

    13. More and more I prefer shorter wigs, and am always on the hunt for both male and female short styles. I still have some longer wigs because sometimes it depends on the doll's character or theme. Finding good shorter wigs is my challenge!

    14. I usually go with shorter or medium-length hair for my dolls, since it’s less of a struggle to maintain. I don’t mind giving a doll long hair if I think it suits them really well though :)

    15. Any longer than the shoulderblades is a pain for me (says the hypocrite who owns a Volks Murasaki :sweat)

    16. It depends. I don't like men with long hair in real life but with dolls all things are little different. But I like to make short wigs because I like to cut them. Often short wig expose a neck which is not very beautiful but recently I thought that it was a sculptor's fault, not mine and I don't want to care about this.:)

    17. For ease of styling and covenience, short hair (especially mohair material). For aesthetics (even though it is a nightmare to maintain), I prefer long straight hair for either male and female dorries.

    18. I'd say generally I prefer medium to long hair for my dolls. But I of course have wigs of all lengths that I love and use for specific characters and looks. I generally dislike how super short wigs look on dolls, and have never found a super short (like shaved or buzzed, or even just clipped short) wig that I the look of for my dolls. The shortest is probably a standard short fur wig. But even then I like it long enough to style. Though I love seeing new ways people are making and styling wigs these days. :)

I tend to keep my own hair about shoulder length, but have had it very long in the past (almost to my knees), just for funsies. I love the idea of long hair more than the hassle of actually having it myself, and I do think that applies to my preference in doll wigs as well. I had a doll with a wig that touched the floor (he is 72cm) and that...was a lot. So he got a slightly shorter and easier to manage wig.

    19. Long hair for my girls.
My boys have a mixture. It's whatever suits them.

    20. Both! It depends on the character/what the doll is wearing! But I will say I prefer my long hair wigs to be a bit shorter, at a more practical and realistic length that is porportional to the doll as opposed to super long fantasy hair. I cycle between long and short hair myself irl so I guess it doesn't factor into my dolls too much! ^^;
