1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Single doll owners?

Jun 18, 2018

    1. In the beginning, I planned to own one doll and treat him as my son:lol:
      But now I have six:shudder

    2. Dear Mia_S, your comment made me smile. Maybe you can think of it as having one son plus quintuplets.

    3. I was a single doll owner for at least the past half year. I thought that would be the rest of the doll hobby for me after culling the collection down to my favorite, then I got a couple baby dragon dolls for my birthday. No regrets  They're more like pets though, they don't need clothing or wigs.

    4. LOL
      Sounds good:lol:

    5. I thought so before, I just want to have a doll, so he is the only one for me. But now I have a new doll I like, and I don't want to give up my current doll, so I may have two dolls. I think two or three are OK, the big family is good, but it needs a lot of money, and each doll will distract your energy, taking care of them can be a little tired sometimes, I think.

    6. This made me laugh so hard...it really did!

But in all seriousness, I truly admire single doll owners. What a wonderful thing it must be to be able to focus all of your attention (and hobby funds) on a single doll. I’m sitting here with a collection of 40, and my hats off to anyone who can be so beautifully focused and content with only one!:abow:

    7. Sometimes I wonder what is would be like to have just one special doll that you do things with and take pictures with. I think it might be super fun to have a doll buddy like that! A bestie dolly friend!

I can't even imagine myself being like that. As long as I can remember, I have been surrounded by dolls, they were a major part of my childhood, and I just grew into collecting them. I love them all, but I can't always spoil them all. They have to wait their turn for me to make them things. I don't buy them the most expensive stuff, they get one nice wig, and a decent pair of shoes, clothing is sometimes made and sometimes bought, but they have to share.

A single doll would certainly be more spoiled, but I just couldn't give up my small army.

    8. I only have two now and at first I only wanted one before I bought many and ended up sizing down. It can be easy to want many molds and planning many characters so I have to restrain myself or think whether or not I really want a doll.
