1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Skinny Dolls

Feb 15, 2018

    1. I like the super-skinny dolls from DC and I like Popovy Sisters dolls a lot but I have not bought either one (yet). I also like Volks SD10G and Souldoll Zenith girl bodies so I guess I prefer a variety. I prefer slim mini size to MSD size in the 1/4 range for sure but that's more about maturity, I think.
Some really skinny dolls do seem to have more trouble standing sometimes, I've noticed.

    2. I think it really depends on the character.. I prefer skinny dolls because most of my characters are very petite, but there is definitely a limit to how boney/underweight they appear (for me personally) :P

    3. For my collection, I like both skinny, normal and chubby dolls, as long as they are realistically proportioned. No Doll Chateau, or art dolls for me :).

    4. At first Doll-Chateau sculpts made me a bit uncomfortable, but now I see them from a complete different perspective. In fact, the character I want to shell (the character that brought me into the hobby at first place) is from a cartoon-tv-show... and he is really skinny, but the cartoonish way. In the end I had to admit that doll-chateau-bodies fit perfect for him and now I really have fallen for their sculpts. I have struggled with my body and my weight all my life and to me there is a huge difference between real life and doll-body-sculpts. There are so many sculpts out there that I adore and they come in all formes and shapes, from muscular to skinny, real-proportioned and some kind of artistic creations.

To me it depends from sculpt to sculpt. And of course it depends on what fits best for the character, I want to shell.
I can understand that someone dislikes very skinny sculpts, as I did myself at first, but I have no problem with it. This is an aspect of the hobby that I like the most, the endless variations ins sculpts and what people make of them.

    5. I suppose it depends? Doll Chateau's dolls, imo, are beautiful and I do hope to own one some day. I think they look really graceful and I love their aesthetic so, so much. However, I'm not sure I would go any skinnier than DC, because they'd start to look very skeletal beyond that and I have no idea how I would shell a character thinner than a DC.

    6. I would also love to get a dollzone death, but I really have no money at the moment to start any additional expensive doll-projects
