Hello ! I am looking for the link about the limited Briar... Can you help me? I want to buy one with a facial tatoo...
http://www.enchantmentdoll.com/captiva.htm This is the link but better contact them to determine which of the dolls are still available. The one with the white facial tattoo is mine, she's been home for several weeks now but as far as I know still shows on the site. They are very helpful, just let them know what you're interested in.
CLAWIMMIN AND NATHANSGIRL!!! I am so in love with your girls!!! They are GORGEOUS!!! I am VERY new to sewing, and had ordered some vintage Barbie patterns off of e-bay. The pattern has to be modified, obviously, the vintage Barbie bust is huge...so I took it in for briar. Also, the vintage Barbies waist is much smaller than Briar's so I compensated in that area leaving extra room. It is so much fun experimenting!!! TAKE CARE AND HAVE FUN EVERYONE!!! EJ
Congratulations SweetChristine! They don't seem to take very long at all from what I have heard, so hopefully you will have your girl soon. ErikaJ, your Briar is just the coolest most trendy girl with her wig and new outfit. I'd never have thought of adapting Barbie patterns, but I did adapt some others....I'll have to think hard for the name of the doll though....when it comes to me I will post it here! (Senior moment )......EDIT: Gene, that was the name of the doll!!! Well as we're doing some spam thought I'd share photo or two of my Rowan, she gets neglected when it comes to new clothes, so she borrowed this tee shirt from my Minoru World Junior. Actually I was trying it for size really and it fits her quite well.
SWEETCHRISTINE, CONGRATS!!! You will LOVE her, and I can't wait to see your pix!!! DAMBUSTER!!! You are such a sweetie!!! Your girl kills me, with her bright green eyes, and cutie outfits!!! You are a brilliant seemstress, and I will definitely be coming to you for commissions in the future!!! Take Care!!! EJ
EricaJ, I love her outfit! Especially the colors, the combination is just wonderful. I too love tweaking Barbie patterns to fit Briar; mostly they just need a little extra length in the body, a lot of extra length in the legs/skirt and a tad more width in the right places. I'm currently working on an outfit from the 1910-1911 era with those fabulous, outlandishlly large hats. Will post pictures when I'm through and have the hat.! Meanwhile, I just noticed () her shoes -- where did you get those great shoes??!! Grown-up looking shoes are so hard to find for Briar, so far all I can find are those round-toed kiddie style shoes, Mary Janes and such. Those little slipons are perfect, where on earth did you find them??? Cheers, all
Claywimmin!!! I can't wait to see your girls outfit!!! It is sure fun experimenting!!! Anyway, I got the bow flats from a totally awesome lady named Dale Rae. Her shop is here: http://www.dalerae.com/index.htm. They are VERY tight, I really had to squeeze her feet into them. I don't think that they would fit with tights. My Briar has on the footless tights (from the awesome Dale Rae also). Take care!!! EJ
Thanks for that link -- those are the most adult looking shoes I have seen for her -- so far all she has is a pair of YO-sized sandals which sort of go for any age. Has anybody else out there found good shoes for Briar?? Let us know!
Thanks to Inamourada Flux, who parted with her Darcie, Sleetwealth Briar moved from "maybe-one-of-these-days" on my wishlist to part of my dollie home. I just love her. She is every bit as graceful and beautiful IRL as she is in photos. She will live atop my printer, right next to my computer monitors. I snapped a quick photo (in a Monique 5-6 JoJo wig I have):
Congrats AnitaS, your Briar is beautiful....and you're right, they are very graceful young ladies! They even look graceful when dressed very casually, as Rowan demonstrates here:
A totally different look for Briar -- I've long admired some of Michele Hardy's fanciful creations but never had a doll I thought they'd work on. But Briar's not part of any other group of dolls in my house, and she has that incredibly sculpted sophisticated face. I thought maybe she could pull it off. So got a new outfit today and I LOVE this look for my Briar (pardon the mess, I was changing a lot of dolls' clothes):
I LOVE HER ANITAS!!! This outfit is sooooooo gorgeous!!! Her wig shoes EVERYTHING, I AM IN LOVE!!! What size is the outfit/shoes, BTW? Thanks for the super cute pic!!! EJ
ErikaJ, the outfit was originally made for a Creedy Melodi, a slightly chunkier 13 inch doll. But Michele's clothes are pretty adjustable so it fits Briar well. The skirt is a tad too big but I can fix that later (didn't want to take the outfit off once I got it on <g>). Briar has the chest/waist dimensions of the skinny 42cm Resinsoul girls (Mei/Ju) tho her hips are smaller and she's shorter. So I imagine that she can wear some of Michele's outfits that would fit those dolls, depending on the style. . . .The wig is also a Michele Hardy wig (I have a lot of her wigs). The boots are ones I got from Dale Rae for my 27cm Resinsoul body. On this page, I think. The other shoes on that page that I have for the RS body also fit her, tho I like the slimmer style of the bow shoes that are 47cm for fashions without socks. I got the 47cm ones from from JuJus Dolly Mall here.
AnitaS, that is a very different and coooool look for your Briar, she looks really great in that outfit!
OK, can't resist posting some Aria spam! Here she is in her 1910 outfit inspired by the movie Death in Venice. The hat is by Feltrope Studios on eBay - I just love these hats and wanna gather a whole wardrobe of them! This makes Aria very happy, as hats are really her thing!
