Sleetwealth Briar Discussion

Oct 29, 2008

    1. I've loved looking at everyone's beautiful Briar's :aheartbea and I want to thank you all for enabling me! Here is my Briar, she is a Captiva Briar and is simply stunning...I don't think she will be wearing many clothes around here because her sculpt is far too pretty to cover up! Little laces and floaty fabrics for this delicate girl :D

I adore her resin, it is so smooth and matte- here's another pic:

I've got some brown mohair weft lying around, I think I'll see what she looks like as a brunette :daisy

    2. I bought few days ago this amazing authentic embroidered sari.
Heavy fabric with gold and silver threads and beads !
      I've finish today this dress.

    3. Wow, Saba, your new Briar is gorgeous, congratulations on her arrival! I just totally agree with you, the resin is beautiful and so is the sculpt, I can't fault it her in any way!

Human_doll, your outfit is soooo lovely, what a wonderful job you've done with that pretty and unusual fabric. Very very nice.

I'm sooooo glad to see a bit of life here on the Briar thread! I think she is such a lovely doll that it amazes me that there seem to be sooo few of them about!
Here are a couple of photos of my girl that I took yesterday.....

    4. Yes, I did indeed make it and thankyou for your nice comments on her Saba!
Yes, its the pattern that was in the Haute Doll magazine last year, but I haven't yet adapted it, although I'm going to do so soon (I have so many things to do at the moment!!!) but I just pinned it at the back to make it look nice for the photos. I was actually rummaging around in my MSD sized box of clothing to see what would and wouldn't fit her.

I have made a couple of dresses for her using a pattern for a 16" fashion doll that I found in Haute Doll a couple of months ago. I am also making the pattern for her jeans as we speak, so she'll have jeans soon too!

    5. When I first saw Briar I envisioned her as a brunette...

I made the Juliet cap for her out of guipure lace and glass beads

pictures just cannot show how delicate and beautiful Briar is, in case no one has noticed, I am smitten :aheartbea !

    6. Here's Darcie in a new wig. She seems to have a whole new personality now, so I am changing her story.

    7. Thank you for the lovely comments PandaGirl, dambuster, Blossom & Tuvie :D

I've named my Briar Sophia, she is refusing to wear anything not made especially for her ;) so I made this to match her lacey cap:

(please excuse my Tonner girl to the left *blush*)
I love how naturally she poses, and her little womanly belly :aheartbea Briar is so inspiring!

    8. She is beautiful, any chance that she can be made in grey resin?

    9. Saba, your girl is gorgeous. Does she fit in Tonner 16" stuff?

    10. Such gorgeous dolls! Are they still available, and I would love to see more pictures of everyones Briars.

    11. Ivy4Mdvanii have you seen this thread http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=327716&highlight=Sleetwealth+Briar ? Very exciting!

Thank you Stella Maris :D I have seen Briar wearing some Tonner 16" stuff (I think it was a stretchy sweater?) but she doesn't fit into any of my Tonner gear unfortunately :( most of mine was tailored, non-stretchy clothing, so you may have some luck with stretchy stuff ;)

toydogz4 they certainly are still available, the standard and the Captiva Briars :aheartbea

    12. The girls are so graceful!

    13. I found this lovely barbie "Sugar Plum" to fit to Chimère.
And not so difficult to close the back :)
      Like Degas dancer :)

    14. Wow human_doll, that looks gorgeous, I wonder then if she is too slim for Tyler clothes. I have a beautiful Dollmore off topic fashion model 16" and it is just so great that she fits Tonner things, for a variety of reasons. Looking at human_dolls etsy site though I realize what beautiful things I could get for her there! And for my other dolls.
I am still holding out for Briar to be an elf, I think she is beautiful.

    15. human_doll your Chimere looks so soft and pretty, just gorgeous :aheartbea !

I have the Peppermint Candy Cane outfit from this Barbie line, must find it and try it on my girl :D

    16. Ah, unfortunately I couldn't get the waist over her hips :(

May I ask did you have to adjust your Sugar Plum outfit at all human_doll ?

    17. Shame that the peppermint candy cane doesn't fit ;(
I didn't adjust the sugar plum because the cut of the waist was over the Briar 's waist. The tutu hide the waist....maybe if we found other barbie outfit that the waist are not tight it would be ok ;(

    18. Beautiful photo Saba, she is sooo exotic. And I love her horse.

Well this morning I was taking some photos and noticed that the sunshine was filtering through the window and falling nicely on Briar, so snapped a couple of photos of her to share. I love this girl!!!!

    19. I have a sketch/painting that I have been working on for the past year or so that inspired me to make a doll. I saw the chance to make a custom color Briar and Jumped! I used my photo shop "skills" to show how she will look. Her name is Moonstone and Twigling has cast her especially for me. Sleetwealth briar is a slim, but mature short almost mini-size doll. (38cm) she has a long, lean, muscular build and a beautiful face. She was sculpted by Sleetwealth, a very talented artist. She is going to shimmer and be a light blue/ teal color. She is a guardian angel who has been through a lot so she is covered in stitches and scars. She is supposed to have an eerie beauty about her. Let me know what you think of my photoshopped Idea.
