Sleetwealth Briar Discussion

Oct 29, 2008

    1. I think she looks beautiful and I so like your story behind her. I hope that Moonstone is going to be everything you ever dreamed of. I love my Briar, her delicate face and strong body, she is just lovely.:aheartbea

    2. Thank you so much!! She has been cast and will be shipped soon! XD

Does anyone know if she will fit into Azone clothes?

    3. Correction: twigling has cast a custom Briar (for Nathansgirl1989) and the funds went to cover the cost of making silicone molds that I made for Nita Collins/Sleetwealth, and to shipping said silicone molds to Nita.

Your photoshopped idea looks great, and I think the doll I've made for you will suit her character perfectly:)

    4. I honestly don't know. She is an inbetweeny size, MSD stuff is too large but Barbie sized doll stuff seems too small, with just a few exceptions.

I'm having to make my own.

    5. She can wear some 1/6 stuff but it seems to be too short in the sleeves and legs. Cy girls and other female action figures are a little bit bigger than Barbies etc, but still shorter than Briar. Tonner Tyler things are a little bit big, but some of it may fit. She is a very unique size, and I think the original masters shrank a lot when Sleetwealth first molded (and remolded) her, so she may originally have been a bit bigger.

    6. What about Dollmore (off-topic for this forum) Fashion dolls? would oufits from either of them work? I'd imagine the 12" would be to small, but the 16" too big. I know they wear the same size wig. I'm planning on making my own clothes for her, but I might ask for something for her for Christmas. :)

    7. dambuster pastels really suit your Briar's gorgeous skin tone- I love the rainbows falling across her collarbone & her little sceptre :aheartbea

Nathansgirl the vision you have for your Moonstone is so unique! I'm sure she will be a beautiful and resilient guardian angel!

Re. clothing I think Briar looks gorgeous in items made especially for her petite & shapely figure, but I tried some Tonner ballerina outfits on her (as they have a smaller bust than the Tyler line), but the torso was still too long and wide :( Not sure about Dollmore?

I bought a few wigs for my Briar and wanted to share my favorite- it's a Monique Tori, and I think it really suits her (she also has new blue eyes):

      Here's a close up:

And another (it's a bit dark, but I like it :blush ):

I picked up the little cane chair at the local op-shop for a dollar- finally something store bought that's the perfect size for Briar :dance !

    8. I wondered the same thing a little while back on here, but no-one was able to answer.

Thanks for the nice comments on my Briar, Saba.

She's so pretty Saba, the close up shows just how soft and peachy her complexion is, really really lovely.

I have a little wicker chair for my Briar, the only thing I've found so far that fits her! My neighbour found it thrown in the street and immediately thought of me and my dolls!!! *_* So a quick clean up and it was perfect for her!

    9. Haha I'm the same way dambuster! I made a video for my first opening cause I was too impatient.
I have some photos of the finished (bald and blank) Blue Briar!! She is beautiful!!! I hope Twigling doesn't mind me posting a photo of her. She is french resin so she is kind of translucent, She shimmers too!! :D Well here is moonstone my beautiful angel! :)

    10. Thank you! :) I have never bonded so much with a doll so far away! Honestly, I must say my favorite part about her sculpt is her cute little belly! I made a full dress for her, but I'm thinking I'm going to have to let that little belly peek out to show it off! She has been a dream of mine for a long time, and finally she is real!! I just can't believe she is mine! :D

    11. Oh WoW :D I adore the french resin, she is just divine :aheartbea wonderful double jointed knees too, I love the way she is sitting here- congratulations Nathansgirl!

    12. Oh WOW! She looks like she's made out of jade, how unusual! I can't wait to see her all painted and done. Congratulations on her safe arrival!

    13. Thanx everyone!! :) I just LOOOVE her!

    14. Went to see your box opening, looks like you were mega excited opening that box! And I see you had a little 'helper'!!!

She is really interesting and lovely, I look forward to seeing more photos of her on here when you get the chance.

      Hugs
      Sharon in Spainxx

    15. hello,
how well does Briar pose? Anyone know when double jointed knees on Briar will be up for sale?

      Nathansgirl1989: she's beautiful. Glowing too :D
      :)

    16. Hi there
I have a Briar and love her to bits, she is sooooo beautiful in my humble opinion!
As for posing, I think that she poses very naturally, she is quite loosely strung and tends to stand rather like a dancer, with her arms held in a natural way too. I've never tried standing her on one leg or anything really fancy but when she stands or sits in a chair then she looks really very natural and elegant. With the regular knees obviously she hasn't got the range of movement that a double jointed knee would have, but I think once that is released she'll be more than perfect...if that's possible!

      But then, I am prejudiced!!!!

    17. danbuster01: hahaha, thanks for your humble opinion! :P More than perfect sounds nice.
I like the way Briar is constructed to hold herself as well. Her face is a very nice sculpt too, especially her cheek bones.

    18. Her double jointed knees are great for posing, but do look a little odd when bent. I wouldn't want single jointed knees at all though. She stands like a rock too!! :D

    19. Here is a photo of my Briar, her name is Rowan (tried to keep to the 'tree' type theme!!) wearing a catsuit that I made for a friend, but I didn't think it was good enough so Rowan gets to keep it. My dolls get to keep all the 'cast offs'!!!
