1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

So, How often do you have nightmares about something happening to your doll/s?

Jul 28, 2017

    1. I've never had a real nightmare about any of my crew... About the closest I've come was a dream that involved a neighbor's child with jam all over her hands and a few of the gang being unusually animate in their efforts to stay out of her sticky, toddler mitts. It was about equal parts horror and humor.

    3. I had dreams too before I bought my first bjd. I was very careful on which company I wanted to buy from because at the time I really believed I would only buy one bjd and never buy again due to the cost. In the beginning I just thought bjds were too expensive for a doll, but after I got my Rosen Lied. I wanted more. That's how I ended up finally joining the hobby officially. Before that I browsed dolls for years. I dreamt of mainly nightmares though because I decided to browse more companies other than Volks and Luts and the companies I randomly chose to look at were the creepy cute kind like Dollmore and Doll Chateau. At the time I really wanted Volks or Luts because it was the only two companies I looked at frequently. The other doll companies I glanced at, but didn't look into to them as in depth.

When I started browsing dollmore because I thought the cost for a first doll was decent, but I had scary nightmares about their dolls. Then I discovered Rosen Lied and knew I wanted for my first doll. I was planning to only buy from Rosen Lied, but they went defunct after my second purchase. I was really sad, and decided two dolls was enough when they went defunct then I discovered Peakswoods and that's how I ended up continuing the hobby.

    4. I dont have bad dreams about anything happening to my bjd.. But for some reason, i have bad dreams about people really disliking him ;^_^). It must be some thing i worry about in the back of my mind… because im not concerned about people disliking my doll in the waking world.

    5. Never in over 16 years of having BJDs.

    6. The only times I have ever dreamt about my dolls have been while waiting for them to arrive after purchasing or if I sent them away for a face-up; they weren't exactly nightmares, but just bad dreams. It involved them arriving to me warped/disfigured or as a completely different doll than what I ordered. In other words, they were not at all what I expected and I was really upset and disappointed about it in those dreams. I'm sure the reason why this happened is because, after each purchase, I was generally very anxious for my dolls to arrive to me, both excitement and nerves! Being disappointed was (and still is) a genuine concern due to the idea that I could be overhyping it for myself. They were stress dreams as a result of overthinking things!

Since I'm planning to buy another doll within the next month, my first one after about nine years hiatus, I can almost guarantee it will happen again. *_* It could possibly happen multiple times during the waiting period since it's been so long since I've bought a doll, and it doesn't help that this doll will be a shelling of a character I've wanted to bring to life for a very long time, so there's kind of high expectations! However, I think it will be alright since I've never been disappointed when a doll arrived to me. :)

    7. I actually had a dream the other day, not about anything happening to my current crew but something that went wrong with an incoming doll. I've been waiting 9 months for a Dollzone Merlin, in my dream he finally came but his head was on an MSD body. He's SD sized. His faceup wasn't anything like the pictures and he didn't have his body blushing. NGL it hurt cause of how long I've been waiting and how much I love him lol

    8. I've only had a few dreams that included my dolls, and only two of them I would call "nightmares" (you'll see why in a moment.)
In the first dream, someone had replaced her with another doll and everyone was acting like I was crazy for asking about it.
In the second, she had come alive and was trying to kill me, so I loosened her strings so she couldn't do anything. It was more funny than scary!

    9. I had a nightmare in the early morning when my Granado Noah's 75Adagio body was due to be delivered. I dreamt that there were two dolls delivered, one appeared to be one of Granado's mature tinies in a really dark resin color that I knew I never ordered, except that it was funky-looking with a lot of marbling and obvious seam line sanding. Even more disturbingly, instead of feet, he had an extra pair of hands attached to his ankles!

I woke up a bit then fell asleep again, and the horror continued. This time, I dreamt that Granado sent the body unstrung in a smaller box, which wasn't too horrifying for me because I can string dolls myself. But when I assembled him, I discovered that it was the wrong body, and wasn't colored evenly. In my head, I was already drafting an email asking for an explanation for the fiasco before I woke up and realized it was just an anxiety-fueled dream.

When I received the actual parcel later that day, it was to my delight (and relief!) that not only did Granado get my order correct, they also sent the body pre-sueded at the neck, shoulders, and hips. No chips, no seamlines, an even color all over, no funky hands in place of feet. Thanks, subconscious, for getting me worked out over nothing!

    10. I live in Armenia for some years and there is no masters who can solve bjd problems and also post working awful, so bjd trauma is my real fear.
Two days before my nightmare I've been hosting guests and all of them were about 17-20 years old and they've never seen bjd and also didn't understand when I told them that at least they are expensive and not to grab them like child toys. So my beloved copper oriental Venitu was rudely grab and thrown on the sofa by one guy and I remember how my hands turned cold, tears filled my eyes and I shouted at this naughty annoying as if I was a Banshee))) After that day no guest are allowed to touch my dolls if they don't want to pay for them.
After that day I saw a nightmare that my doll was again thrown on the sofa, but he slided on the floor and broke down. His face shattered into little pieces and all thin fingers broke off. I cried a lot in nightmare and even waking up I was mad, so since that situation I'm still angry a bit at this guy))

    11. Never.
But once, years ago, I dreamed a friend’s doll was 1:1 scale, came to life, and tried to kill her. I ripped off the headcap, twisted the s hook, and took off its head. That stopped it.
      That’s about it.

    12. I guess a the moment my biggest fear is sending my first boy through the mail to get a new face and then the post office losing him....I think about it a lot and I've just kind of come to the conclusion that he's probably just going to keep his default face until I can personally escort him over there lmao.

SECOND fear however-- house fire, back in 2017 my grandparents suffered from an electrical fire and since then I've been super paranoid about one happening at my current house I have a lot of things that I can't just replace (perks of having niche hobbies) so its like... double whammy...

    13. I replied earlier that I haven't had any nightmares about dolls, but last night I had a dream about selling a doll which was scary.
The dream involved a person I had recently sold a doll to in reality, and had actually gone perfectly. But in the dream the buyer phoned me and complained that I had sold her the doll using a priority mail box instead of the original box the doll had come in. She had already agreed to this before buying the doll, because shipping in the original large box would have been very expensive. I reminded the buyer of this in the dream, but she was angry and adamant that I had cheated her. I tried so hard to reason with her, but she got more and more angry. It also seemed scary that she had called me on the phone, because I don't give out my phone number to buyers.
The dream ended without a conclusion, and I woke up feeling tense and uneasy. Very strange.

    14. i’ve never had a nightmare about my dolls, at least not that i remember! that’s a really interesting question… maybe i will now that i have given it thought… lol

    15. I've never had a dream about my dolls or their characters, which is disappointing honestly! I tend to dream vividly, and some of my favorite dreams have been from my OC's perspectives. Hopefully one day I'll have one.

    16. I dreamed that I took my Sandor Clegane Doll to a convention to get him signed by the actor who played Sandor and a picture with him too. In the dream he said, "I'm not 2$@%R@# signing that," and then he got up and walked off WITH MY DOLL!

    17. That sounds very disturbing. In real life I'm sure the actor would be flattered and kind. I would love to see a picture of your doll of him. :)

    18. Slightly OT, but when I collected Barbies I used to have a recurring dream that I had all of them lined up and was having a conversation with them. I had a similar dream when I was a child, that I sat all my dolls in a row on my bed and had a chat with them, telling them that I KNEW they came alive when I was asleep, and that it was ok for them to come alive when I was awake too. LOL nutty kid.

    19. I have to find a way to share pics. There's pics of him on IG but I have my IG locked so you have to follow me to see anything. Maybe ill make one for just my dolls.
