1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. 1. easy come... not so easy go. Had I know how hard it is to resell dolls, I'd have avoided several dumb deicions.

      2. hobby= community. Community = mny different people. Some to be avoided. Sorry for being bitter, but some folks ruined a large part of dollying for me... back in the day. Now I am careful about how I socialize.

      3. large collections are cool but on photos. IRl those are anxiety inducers. Scientists claim that when planning the amount of time needed for making a BJD piece of clothing, one needs to multiply the time by 4 or 5. Or even 6. The scientists are unsure... Maybe forever.

      4. Different sizes feel almost like different types of dolls. You may not like all of them equally, sometimes it's the size that is the problem if others don't apply.

      5. Yeah, you may try out new wigs and all... but if a doll is to be sold... most likely it's just a matter of time. 95% of the time.

      6. Some dolls you may miss... and rebuy... only to resell.

      7. second-hand dolls are awesome - I agree with @CatWedding on that one :)

    2. Just because you love a doll in pictures doesn't mean you will love it in person. Try to see one at a meet if you can or just make sure to look at lots of pictures of the sculpt before buying immediately! Also, it's okay to have fomo, don't let it control you.

    3. Yes they definitely look different in real life, especially once you take away the professional lighting and angles!

    4. Hello, 18-year-old me: YOU ARE GOING TO WANT A DARK ELF SOO AGAIN IN 12 YEARS. BUY ONE BEFORE THEY DISCONTINUE HER AND SAVE 30-YEAR-OLD ME THE TROUBLE. Oh and, in general, don't buy dolls because the ones you want are unavailable and you crave the New Doll Excitement. It turns you into a revolving door collector and makes you feel like a heel every time you ship out a sweet face you promised you would take care of forever.
