    1. Has soom sent anyone a pic of him without face-up? He's gorgeous and I really want him, but I'd like to see him w/o face-up before I decide. I've asked soom for pics & they said they'd have some available this week, but still no email...*goes back to waiting*

    3. I wonder why Soom didn't include the name(s) of the artist(s) who made the sculpt in the description of Obsidius like they did with other MDs. Anyone an idea why? And who the sculptor might be?

    5. I was thinking he looked like a Sard, but with a closed mouth. And this is why I love him so much. I love Dia and Sard, but I was never a big fan of the open lips.

    6. Originally other than those gorgeous tallon feet I wasn't terribly impressed with this boy because of his uninspiring default face-up which do nothing for him. However, looking at the head sculpt itself & the fact that being he's Natural skin resin Obsidian has great versatility & it would be easy enough to find a replacement head if the blank sculpt really didn't impress. I'm very tempted!
      However, won't be taking the plunge. If he'd been available in Cream white & / or with a MegaGem body then I'd have been Soomed for sure!

    7. The more I look at this guy's face the more I like him. He is much more like the Idealian boys than the other more recent MD boys. For the last year or so I have liked a few of the MD boys but kinda found their prettiness sort of samey-samey if you know what I mean. This guy is different and I see a lot of potential. I would just rather see him painted by someone else.
      I can't wait to see him once owners start giving him custom face-ups!

    9. I think he would look great with a darker face-up and maybe dark brown or black hair. The angel-like styling distracts from his real look a bit - but it is pretty ^^

    11. I admit I've been trying to read through all the Larger Doll threads like a good Virtue and trying not to really look at the new dolls at the same time - I already have plans that come ahead of unexpected love for new dolls.
      On top of that, Super Gem bodies are not my favorite so I tell myself "No more Super Gems!" but I keep going back to look at this guys faaaaaace. <333 It's a bad sign right now but maybe he'll work into the plan someday!
      I can't wait to see what you who have purchased him end up doing with him! ^___^

    12. I received an Obsidius today courtesy of the wonderful 2ndhand marketplace, and have a question. This guy is really, really *really* pink compared to the other Sooms I own. He's almost red-tinted instead of pink-skinned. It really shocked me when I opened the box and saw his color.

      Is this the enw normal for Soom's NS resin? I know they vary a lot from batch to batch (none of my NS Sooms are remotely close to one another in shade), but I have never seen them lean this startingly towards pink before. Is anyone else's Obsidius this color?

    13. I've seen in piccies Obsidius and i must confess that he seemed a lot pinkish,but i love his color,i guess that Beryl special order is a shade similiar to Obsisdius.
      Other question,it's just me or his special ankles looks shorter than usual?

    14. Aceinit :: All of the Obsidius' seem to be really pink, mine included. I'll have to report back here once my second split arrives, but I'm sure that he'll be just as pink as the others. I'm not entirely pleased with the pinkishness because I'm so used to the more yellowy SOOM normal skintone, but I love the sculpt to death and will just have to try and get used to it.

    15. Yeah, mine is pink, with peach undertones.

      Do you mean the fantasy leg parts? They are shorter than the normal leg parts, but sunce I don't have any other fantasy supergems here I cannot compare ^^ He is MUCH taller with his fantasy legs though, so maybe the leg parts just look short compared to those claw feet?

    16. Thank you so much for the answers, everyone. Wow, Soom's really changed their resin color, then. It looks like their head sculpts are gradually skrinking, too. His head looks so tiny next to my Io.

      I have one more question: what size eyes are you finding works best for him? All of my 14mms are too large for him (the iris fills almost the entire eye well), and I was curious if he looked better in 12mm or maybe as small as 10mm before I start shopping around in new sizes.

    17. Yes Dear i mean this exactly,thanks so much for the infos..from piccies to me seems that the Obsidius ankles are shorter than the chrom ankles and sphaler anckles..just my impression of course :)

      I would suggest 12mm or at least 13mm from eyeco..i don't know about the eye cause i prefer the smaller sizes.
      Regarding the size of the head:
      do you referring to IO wind walker?Cause my Io scarface head is definitely bigger than my chrom and heliot head ( owner my twin sister $avage) and also my beryl head ( beryl special order) is bigger than the romantic MD head of Onyx ( owned by $avage) and the migma hollow head..so i guess that the newer heads from soom are a tad smaller than the 2008/2009 heads.

    18. I prefer smaller eyes as well for a more realistic look, so I will definitely poke aruond Eyeco since they have served me well in the past. I was thinking 12-13mm for them, so I'm glad to know that size will work. Thank you.

      Most of my Sooms are older, and they are all the MD versions as opposed to the re-releases so, yes, Wind-Walker. (You can see them in my signature ;) ). I've never noticed much of a difference between Beryl and Onyx, though now that you mention it, my Topaz does seem a smidgen smaller than either of them and Cuprit is actually larger than all of the others.

      But Io and Chrom (Chrom especially, now that I think about it) definitely have bigger noggins than my Chalco, Sphaler or Obdisius. To me, the newer models are starting to look a bit pin-headed on those wide, Super Gem shoulders. I may have to downsize my Obsidius onto a smaller body...IF I can find a resein match. Blank and nude (his current condition) he looks a tad disproportionate to me.

    19. UHM..regarding the bodies:i could suggest you angels doll standard male body in angel normal color?
      Now the company offers discounted price 300usd the full male doll,and i do own several bodies for this company and are amazing.
      I'm not sure if the match is perfect with obsidius,the AD body is 72cm taller.. i don't know eother if the size is the one you're looking for,i'm keen with 72cm taller bodies but i know that everyone have their own preferences regarding the size od bjds ^^ but i just let you have this further info :)

      Regarding the heards:my beryl heads leave a gap a small gap,on her own neck,i've tried the bery SO head onto the AD male neck ( 10,5cm circumference) and fits just fine,while onyx doesn't even fit...chrom head is a tad larger than the heliot one, and heliot head is just a tad bigger than the onyx head..^^"

    20. My Obsidius has Eyeco Platinum in 13 mm. Works great ^^

      Obsidius is my first Supergem and my first "big" doll in general, and to me he appears rather bobble-headed compared to the thin arms and very slim body >.> I was actually thinking about getting him a bigger body. LOL.
