Soom August Monthly Doll: Obsidius Discussion Thread!

    1. I spent all day Friday casting She-Ra characters using Soom's monthlys *lol* Versuvia can be Scorpia, Amphibel can be Angella.. Epidos is some sort of Bow love child with his horse Arrow.. I dunno.. XD

      You have to do one thing for me though, get an old He-Man figurine and put them together in a "I stomps you little man" type shoot!

      A tiger!!! A green tiger no less!

    2. Well I'm a dressmaker as well so what about I do up a simple He Man cossie for him in a photo shoot? The only skull I've got is a pink light up one that I got at Dreamworld though.

    5. I was pondering about him and the other Soom guys, and was just wondering why he was the one who got a Sgem body. XD
      I mean, most of the guys who had the MegaGem body were all more feminine...( I would've LOVED Ender/Anubis on a SG body) and a heavenly Griffon I would imagine to be more bulky on the body rather tha slim. So I just wonder how - or according to what SOOM decides which character should go as a SG or MG. :lol: huh
      As for me... I will really try to put him together on a bulkier and wider body. *^* <3

    6. Oooo la la! I fell for this "pair", seeing as I got the extra body when I ordered him. I love his beautiful face and full lips. I don't know why people think full lips on men can't be masculine. In any case, I don't think Obsidius is using his sword to spear bon bons.

    7. Sorry to bud in so rudely, but does anyone know the size of that wig? Would it fit Idelian? (I wouldn't think so, but the wig is just too perfect for one of my characters).

    10. Soom wigs are usually huge ( and too big for even their own heads they're made for) so I think it would most likely fit an ID, yeah. :)


      On Obsidius; Indeed! A pretty, pretty man! I'm strongly walking down the path to just leave the thinking and calculating and bring him home in full. No matter how I look I love every part of him v_v; .

    12. oh my word. i actually hadn't seen him yet, which is unusual. i've stalked the SOOM website like my life depended on it.
      those wings and those TALONS are fantastic. i adore his expression, but i am a little dissapointed by the lack of musculature.

    13. @kazejustfelldown Yeah, he's not the manliest out there from Soom, but he's also much more masculine than the previous MD's, which actually made me happy! :lol:


      Anyone else seeing him to look like Dia's 'older brother' from the same gang but a more grown up/calm face and personality? XD

    14. He's lovely, and somewhat different from the other Soom head sculpts. He actually reminds me very much of HZ's later style - perhaps FengWuYa, Guhu, or the new Boss. Anyway, if I had the money Obsidius would be highly tempting. He'd make a great mature female! Sadly, as usual, I'll have to pass.

    15. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The payments for Migma are obscene, so if I can get her covered... I have a maximum I'll ever put on a CC for dolls in a 'slow work month', and his first payment would fit that bill barely as a blank... but not unless all hers is covered. *finger crossed*

    17. I have a lot of blank resin in the house. I could likely create a zombie army of blankness at this point. ;) ...come to think of it, that could be an amusing photo... *scratches chin* Once work lets up -- which sadly could be a while -- I will see if I can clear a corner of room and give that a shot.

      (I still want to make a Frankenstein's Lab some day out of all the spare parts. Ah, lottery dreams...)

    19. Just wondering...I'm assuming that if you buy the extra body and head then both bodies will come assembled? Is that a reasonable assumption or does anyone know for certain?

    20. That is exactly what I have thought when I first saw him.

      @ Spring: if Soom treats him the same like my Soom RS Shale with his two bodies, then yes. The additional body came with its own box and assembled. But the second head was not on it. So all you have to do is probably put the head on the body ^^
