1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Gem Order Chance: Special Order - Speculation & Discussion Thread Part II

May 4, 2011

    1. I have an Amber whose default blushing is gorgeous, but she does have some very big seam lines. I've never seen seams so sharp! So I don't mind sanding them myself, it'll give me something to do :)

    2. The blushing is costly enough that it feels like a waste to me without the sanding, since... yeah, their seamlines are sometimes really great, but when they're bad, they're really, really bad. I either go with both, or neither. Epidos is still sitting in pieces, unpainted, un-anything, because there's no way I am going to assemble him or handle him much until I get him sanded, the seams are so ledgy. It's a shame, too, since some of the other recent dolls have been great on seams, but there's just no guarantee which you'll end up with.

    3. i agree when it comes to blushing if i dont get the removing seam service with it i feel like its a waste, i'd rather get a $2 exacto knife and a pack of sandpaper and do it and the blushing myself (especially when it would be free for me to do but $320 for soom to do it). on that note from what i can see of the faceup from the promo i really like it and for a beautiful Heliot-esque faceup i would definitely pay the $40 ^-^

    4. While in real life baby horses are spindly, I think chubby babies work since human babies are chubbier than adult humans. I have seen pics of the tiny centaurs with Epidos and it looks cute from Epidos's waist down so maybe they won't look too bad together.

    5. Zinc's pictures and price are up now! ^-^

    6. Seems like they've drawn a lot on MD Heliot! Not sure what to think of this guy just yet, I'm not overly wowed and I don't find him as pretty as Heliot...think it's his lower lip being sort of pressed in and the bridge of his nose maybe too wide for me.

Altogether, he's still a beauty though!:)

    7. Wow! He's looking a lot different than I expected. I like his ears a lot... I'm in the process of convincing myself that I like his face. It's stylistically very different to my super gem MDs, but... Dammit, he's cool! And less expensive than I expected!

I am so ordering him next week >_<

Not sure about the clothes though. I do want his wig and eyes, but I'm going to have to stare at the clothes for a long time to figure out whether I like them or not.

    8. i want him really badly i love his ears ^w^ i'm going to evaluate where my finances are at the end of the ordering period if its even somewhat possibly for me to get him on layaway i am definitely grabbing him up as it is i'm pretty confident i can swing it ^-^

    9. I ordered him, waiting room is here!
      he's so gorgeous, couldn't resist.

    10. He's story is nice, and I think his face looks good. I'm glad the bridge of his nose isn't to narrow, that's the one thing I disliked about Heliot and especially Euclase. At the same time I don't think he's a must have, but I shall think about it.

    11. I love the new body... But very unwowed by the face unfortunately :(

And I laughed a little when I saw Heliot's bow and arrow... I thought for a moment they were going to offer it with him XD

    12. Oh my. I have to think about this...I may have to put other dolly plans on hold. He is one gorgeous piece of resin...

    13. Oooh, I think he has a very gorgeous face - I love those eyes! "Luckily" for me they dont have him in human, NS version xD

    14. I've decided against him because he is far too big and I have nowhere to put him but I am so in love with that face! I asked Soom if they have plans to make him as a human Idealian 51. If they do...I am all over that.

    15. @fairyspit Just popped over from newsthread - and YESH, I am soooooooo full of want for a human Idealian 51 version of Zinc! That face is all kinds of gorgeous. When they reply, could you share please?

    16. Most definitely.

If I could get him on a human body with hooves and the uni head...*faints* lol

    17. He's really beautiful. He doesn't fit into the budget or the size groups for me, but the proportions here are so much better than Epidos that he is very tempting anyway! I think this is the finest centaur doll, proportionally, I have seen to date. (And I have Epidos and want to eventually get a centaur Chiron from Souldoll, so I'm not saying that lightly -- I already have/like the others in SD size.)

    18. The narrow bridge is especially what I LOVED about Heliot and Euclase! Guess it just means, I veer more toward the stylized look!

edit note: I think the outfit is sweet, but think the front would look better draped in some way - being cut off like that makes it look too skirt like. He looks prettiest in the nekkid shots!^^

Just read the storyline (too busy looking at pics before) and didn't realise, his tutor was Heliot and his mother Cuprit! His father is a fairy called Orphim - this sounds exciting, so we have a large male fairy possibly in the pipeline? :cheer Sweeeet! I also did not realise that centaurs were typically debauched, delinquent types...if anything, Soom is definately helping to fill in the gaps in my knowledge of greek mythology!

    19. Oh, I expected as much... :( He's a bit too much for me at the moment...
Well, at least, I'll have roughly 3 weeks to think about it - maybe I could swing combining, if Soom would let me have a longer layaway, but I've asked them about that in the past, and 6 is as long as they go, as long as your order is more that $1200. But that would still leave my layaway payments over 200, which I cannot do.
*sigh* Oh well, maybe someday I can find one second-hand... Or maybe they'll release more someday.

    20. There is something about him that I really love. When I first stumbled across his pics I wasn't interested. I'm not a centaur fan, which is why I didn't expect much. However, after looking at him now, I really do like him (including the centaur). His face is what attracted me - his face-up looks wonderful to me.

Alas, despite how much I would love to bring him home with me, I have not the fund.
