1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Gem Order Chance: Special Order - Speculation & Discussion Thread Part II

May 4, 2011

    1. She could be available again because of cancelled orders, or Soom changing their mind on the quantity limited. Be vigilant!

    2. Ooh yeah. I'll put a hold on my doll plans for that ^^. I hope i can get her though.

      :Edit:
      She's back up!

    3. Congrats to all who were able to get Breccia! After much deliberation, I decided not to go for her this time around. I have so many incoming doll projects that adding another SD to the mix will just get too overwhelming. And, I hate feeling overwhelmed, especially when it comes to this hobby, which is supposed to be a stress-free zone. I'm pretty hopeful that she'll be re-released eventually, and hopefully I won't have too many dolly projects on my hands when that time comes

    4. And I managed to nab her! :D
I found out about her release JUST after she sold out this morning and felt so upset I missed her. But I kept an eye out and got her when she was back up! :whee: I'm so excited for this girl.

Congrats to everyone who got her and I look forward to seeing you in the waiting room!

    5. Was she put back up because of cancelled orders or ?

    6. Probably cancelled orders. I've seen it happen with other SO's. Sometimes folks place an order because they are afraid the doll will sell out in minutes, and then take the time to think if they actually want it. Soom gives 24 hours to cancel orders without penalty.

    7. Ahh i see! Agh! I don't want to order her until i'm sure i'll have the funds for her.

    8. Totally understandable. Keep an eye on her page when you have the funds, as I'm sure she'll pop back up again a few times.

    9. Ahh, i really want her!! Lol. I CAN get her, it's just how long would i have to wait until after i've paid her off? I'd have to put her on layaway, which i should have finished paying her off in like sometime May. So how long would i need to wait for her to come home?

    10. I think it would be around from a couple of weeks to a month or two. I've heard of people getting a doll a week after completing layaway, and then I've also heard of people getting it after a month or so. It shouldn't take too long. I say try to get her! :) You'll regret missing out on her if you want her this much!

    11. So true! I was originally going to put her on layaway on Monday so i've got until then to think properly on wether to get her or not. But i do agree, if i don't get her i will regret it.

    12. Sounds like a good idea.^^ I imagine that perhaps there may be a little more cancellations by Monday; maybe Soom will have time to modify the cancellations etc. on a work week, and some people will have had time to change their minds. Of course, you can always snag her if she comes up tonight and then cancel if you change your mind.
I hope it works out for you in the end. :)

    13. Congratulations to everyone who got her! I'm looking forward to seeing the owner pics when she arrives!

    14. She's sold out again =(

    15. With the Soom limiteds, it's always the best to buy them and think then about him/her. You have one week to make the first payment/pay in full before Soom cancel the order. So if only need 2-3 days to send the first payment it's no problem with Soom.

About the time after the layaway. Usually it is, when you have completed the order according to your layaway plan it is only a short wait- 1day to 6 weeks (mostly 1 day to 2 weeks at the moment). When you pay off earlier sometimes the doll will be send out with the paid in fulls or you have to wait 2-3 months. It depends on the time, when you pay off. When you pay off before the paid in full orders, there is a good chance that your doll will be send out with the paid in full dolls.
So it's not that long with Soom. :)

    16. Uuuun 50 dolls in one day, is that a record?

I mean really, she's already gone.

    17. Lol! empty_fullmoon I think the record is still Beryl! The one that took the longest (I think) was Io.

    18. Vesuvia sold out in roughly 30 seconds, no exaggeration. Heliot sold out similarly fast.

    19. She's back up :)

    20. Somebody snapped her up again.
How I wish this happened to other SOs I missed...
