Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD.     1. Ooo >.> I am curious now too... My Spinel is from fall of 2010, and his hands look like this:

      (This is a particularly bad photo :sweat - it's after dusk and cloudy, and my flash made the veins not show up so well)

      They aren't as flat as hannahnoface's photos, but they are also not as poppy as fransyung's. I may send them a question about this too; those Super Gem veins just make me drool! I have Chrom on layaway, so maybe they can replace the mold before they get to mine! And everyone else's, of course! I'm not greedy! :D

    2. I agree with gelfling9uk. I love detailed hands but I don't think it would stop me from getting Chrom who has always been on my wishlist. But it would be a really big shame... T_T

      Hopefully, like AirimirOfGondor said, they'll replace the mold or something before working on our orders. Though I don't think it is very possible, we can all hope right? XD

    3. ^^ They have postponed replying my report. Hopefully we'd hear from them today. Yes, I love those veins. I only have a few Super Gems at home (including the ones in my friends)... the newer ones are IO and Epidos. IO hands are not that veiny either, and he's from 2010. But not as flat as Epidos. Epidos hands are the worst. >.> I still want their boys in the future, too, but I wish the veiny hands make a comeback! XD

    4. I thought I might take a better picture, I used the flash on the last one which washed it out a bit, they're still not super nice and veiny but.. here

      @.@ its super disappointing they're not as lovely as others. I'm hoping for the next soom I buy they've rectified this :(

    5. This hand discussion is making me a little sad. I mostly buy girls, but I always figured if I ever get another boy (the only boy resident in my dolly world is Delf El), it will be a Soom Super Gem because I fell in love with the detail of the body sculpt, especially the hands! I am just waiting for that irresistible Soom man to come along... but, I'm discouraged by the news that the amazing detail I was always so fond of is not there anymore. I hope that it's something that will be fixed in future releases.

    8. Just looking at the promo pics of DH Heliot, the last pic clearly shows veinage as does VOS Euclase, KIR Io has less and VG Sard you can't really see...not sure what this all means, but I thought it was interesting! :)

      I would hope for my lovely Chrom to have some veins, but if it is not to be then I won't be sad...now if it were a Dollshe boy, that would be different! ;)

      And because this is a speculation thread...I'm wondering if Coquina will be next?!^^

I'm thinking Cass and then Breccia must be the next SO females, so I'm going to message Soom and make a plea for Breccia, who I thought was SUPER BORING in her promo pictures, and then absolutely died when I saw owner pics that took her in a different direction, because she has such a lovely face under Soom's bland face-up. I think I'm going to make a case for tan, even though I know they won't do it, but it would just be so terribly spectacular if they did.

    10. I agree with Breccia's custom faceups being pretty outstanding in comparison with her default look. I've seen some gorgeous Breccias around the boards.

    11. rottedgirl - I agree, especially with regard to Breccia. Owner pics really showed her off in a much better way than the promo ones. I remember just not feeling an-y-thing for her but a big, fat, blank...(:| ) then the owner pics turned up and she looked amazing! :)

      So apart from Coquina in bronze tan, they haven't applied this to any other female have they? I think it would be great if they started offerring dark tan females in the way Iplehouse has embraced this with Ashanti and (the incredible, edible) Lahela for example.^^

    12. Coquina was released in both bronze skin and normal skin... I think maybe this time it would be white skin? Or fantasy skin? I'd be thrilled if they release her again... I'm in love with the face... ^^;;

    14. I don't think we will ever see a doll from Soom with African features. They clearly have an "ideal" aesthetic that they work towards which is why all their men are so pretty-faced and all their women look so demure. African features clearly don't fit into their ideals. I think we'll always see samey sort of literally "beautiful" sculpts from them always.

Anneke - I understand what you're saying here and agree! :) I think Soom have their aesthetic agenda well in place, for them a certain look sells and sells well maybe, so no point rocking the boat as such...I think with ID Pangen and Chrom perhaps they took a slight chance at making a more ethnic-asian looking doll, but I can't see them doing anything quite so avant-garde as to produce a doll with a more pronounced/striking ethnic identity!

      But who knows, maybe one day...!;)

    20. Yea, I keep myself on the lookout for Alk/Yrie... Even though my fiance teases me for liking what he calls their 'chicken feet,' I find their faces adorable. ^_^
