Soom Gneiss- Birth of A Goddess

Mar 6, 2012

1. That dress. She is beautiful. Not quite enough to tempt me, though, I'm afraid. My wallet weeps with joy.

2. She is normal bust size btw, I think the dress, and the fact that she is on the new body, makes it look bigger, but it is only slightly bigger than the other body.

I think she is gorgeous, mind you, I don't collect female dolls, but if I did, I would buy her instantly. I love her pictures in high light, they make her etherial look too much to handle >,<. I kinda don't mind that she doesn't have fantasy parts, I think Soom is wanting to go in a different direction, and not that they won't do more in the future, but they want to set a certain tone for this line, which in my opinion is a good one. I hope this girl sells a lot, as I don't want Soom to be discouraged on their first outing away from their old lines lol. Also, those clother...are awesome!

3. Not Soomed. She's absolutely stunning though! I love her gentle face. And the new face-up artist did a fantastic job. I don't really like the staff (too cartoony) or the snakes, but the wings are beautiful. I second Artemos. I like her, but I won't be getting her. I hope Soom doesn't get too discouraged at the "no fantasy parts" cries.

4. The base model seems expensive to me!

5. i am disappointed :( ♥ i was so sure that she would have some outrageously great fantasy parts. i am not a fan of the mew body.

i think soom would do better to sell the staff and the hooded cloak separately.

6. She's pretty, but I'm a little underwhelmed by her. I think I was expecting a more wise expression. I mean, she's gentle and serene looking but I was hoping for a more wise expression, I suppose. Stronger, more intelligent. She has a lovely faceup, her dress is equally pretty, and the new body looks good.
Ah well.

7. Gneiss is gorgeous.I do not get all these complains about the missing fabntasy parts.I agree with Artemos, the body sculpt is just lovely, soom was also sensible to leave the choice of the upper thighs jointed body or the simple thigh.
Her face is truely ethereal, the face is just flawless,to not mention the gown that is just to die for.
I think that is just time for soom to walk on different path, not that i do not like the fantasy dolls with anthro parts but really it's from 2008 that soom put so much effort into MD line,at least let soom free to try something new.
Take a note that Gneiss is a limited mold,so to me her price isn't that high.

8. Whew, I'm safe! She IS stunning but she reminds me a bit of Migma..... I too was looking for a bit more of a wise expression, but whatever the reason, I love her, but not enough to WANT her. Thanks the gods...!

9. I certainly wouldn't discourage Soom from continuing down this path - I think their redesign of the SG body is utterly fantastic. I'm just really into fantasy parts and so I was a smidge disappointed to see she didn't have many of them, but that doesn't mean the next Legends won't be just as stunning as Gneiss is. She's really breathtaking, but she just isn't for me. <3

That's just my two cents to clarify my previous statement.

10. I really dislike her faceup...it's almost too much. Mostly her lips. Her face is pretty and I love the dress. Favorite part about her is the dress. Not for me and I'm happy I am saved...phew.

11. I bought her, with the new body. My spouse gave the ok :D I didn't buy the dress, the staff or the wig--I sew, and I would rather make her a more classical greek gown, and I have wigs here (and my dolls never cooperate with the wigs I buy for them anyway). But I did get the eyes and for 50.00 I thought I would gamble on the faceup--it looks like the same artist that did the Galena SO I have, and I love that face.
Sooo...now the waiting begins!

12. I like Gneiss so far, i think she's gorgeous, and the full-set indeed worth the price, i expecially love the face-up, surely as mentioned previously there's a new artist that works with Soom, i guess also that this face-up going well with her younger mold.
Anyaway i like the new improved body, it's time that Soom change something and try different aestetic vibe, i surely support Soom from going on in this direction, not that much upset about the fantsy parts missing, just my two of course ;)

13. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels "underwhelmed" the painting on everything just seems so rushed to me as well.

But I hope that if Soom is going to cut away the legged fantasy parts, they keep coming out with staffs and the such, Actually I'm waiting for a nice big metal sword from soom.

14. A sword would be every kind of awesome, especially a fantasy sword that you couldn't buy as a "letter opener", which is what my guys have now. I liked the staff, but I would want a wooden one, not a resin one;and again it's something I can make here. (we have a woodshop, though it is in disarray right now).

15. I find letter opener swords to be too small for my big 70cm+ boys.

And painted resin swords just look "painted" to me.

SO if soom makes a awesome huge sword ( mega gen size) I'll be all for it!

16. Congrats Fishcake :aheartbea

17. Congrats from me too Fishcake :D
I can still dream about a scythe right :sweat ?

18. I like the vivid face-up. Agreeing that the staff seems a little cartoony for her, though.

19. LadyoftheFae and $abbatha Thank you so much! And I think a scythe would be amazing--I also think it would look fine in resin, since they tend to get a little rusty and not shiny-perfect.

20. I like Gneiss and I'm very excited about the new body but I'm unsure how the new body will do. I have a lot of fantasy parts and I would be happier if they could work on it. I like the sculpt but may pass on this one as I was hoping more for fantasy parts. The body does remind me of a sooms version of a fairyland body which is great because they pose wonderfully. I think I may sit this one out and wait to see what the other girls are for the line. Akso, the Neck seems odd when to the side.
I really hope they Show the new body next to the old for comparison.
Though I am a softy for romantic eyes and gneiss has them....gah!
