Soom Idealian 51 Discussion

Does anyone have a picture of Narae girl and Soom Idealian 51 comparison? :3 Especially their head or faceplate sizes ? Thanks!

 

The clothes for the 19in Tonner males are a reasonable fit. The fit of tops is excellent. The pants just a bit snug and short. There are a number of patterns available in this size and there are people sewing for them.

Time to revive this thread. I've been fiddling with my new Soom Hyperon Dhampir (ID51) since I received him in mid-December -- two months from speedy Soom -- and I just love him. Love the poseability of this body and the size. I have nothing else in this size tho I think one of the Doll Chateau bodies would work well (see some photos in my Flickr stream) with a smaller head. What I'm hoping makes a most excellent mate for him is Nanyalin's new Moira; I ordered her almost the minute she became available. I am definitely going to keep an eye out for more ID51 releases.

I like the white wig on him! Mine is here but he arrived in January! I haven't gotten any pictures of him yet!

 

Did you order Hyperon with a faceup? Mine was blank (may be why he was shipped earlier?). Please post pics when you get him together! And as for mine, I actually bought three new Monique wigs for him (two of them black) and wouldn't you know that the fur one I like -- and another brown fur one that looks good -- was already in my wig bag! This is how I wound up with a huge bag of wigs. . . .

 

Yes, I ordered him with a faceup and a couple other items. I hear you on the wigs! I have so many I'm trying to organize then so I can find one when I need it!

 

Is anyone getting a Cuba in this next order who is willing to let me get a head added on (since it looks like you can get both heads for $80 extra). Or, barring that, would anyone be looking to get the body in a split? The Cuba head is great for one of my characters, and shockingly the right size for the body I'm considering for her, so I'd love to be able to jump at this chance. I just can't afford to get the whole doll when I won't do anything with the (admittedly gorgeous) body. I know this isn't the marketplace but I thought it would be the best place to put out some feelers.

 

The Romantic head is calling to me. But do I really need another ID51 guy?

 

Soom doesn't identify the heads on the website but I'm guessing the Romantic head is the one with the eyes half closed. That's the one calling to me, too. Unfortunately I never seem to have doll money in hand when Soom opens one of their ridiculously short order periods. This time is no different; I may just bite the bullet and put him on the credit card.

@nancy_schroeder_ca - Of course you need another ID51 guy. Just like I need my first ID51.

 

Man, coming back from a doll break and got hit so hard with Cuba's romantic head. I'm debating if I should find a split buddy to get that head or just get the whole doll (and sell the body after). I'm thinking to upgrade his body for a larger size instead of his 51cm body. Hmmm decision, decision.

 

Is there any clothing thread for ID51?

My Hornblend centaur needs some new shirts and tops. He's been wearing a little bit to small Dollmore Kid skull t-shirt since I first got him. Right now he's all naked

 

I just got a Hornblend centaur too! My problem right now is eyes. I see that the official Idealian 51 measurements lists 12 mm eyes, but I just tried my pair of 12 mms in my Hornblend (super small iris ones yet), and they seem too big. Sorry if it's been discussed before, but what eye size do you guys recommend?

 

So many pretty dolls in this thread :O I realise I've completely forgotten to post my own.
My Cuba isn't finished yet, so he doesn't get any photo time, but my Hornblend only needs some more handmade clothes and he's completely done. Here's my Hornblend, named Levin ~

Thank you! I look forward to seeing yours too, I get why you're excited if he's just shipped. Then it won't be long till he's home. Mine's actually from the much older release, I just haven't gotten around to get he finished yet as other dolls have always come first.

 

Grant (Cuba with romantic head) arrived on Halloween!

When did Soom replace the banana with a brain? Actually, it reminds me more of a walnut. Either way, putting his head on was an exercise I don't want to repeat anytime soon. Not good for my blood pressure.

We tried on a lot of clothes. Dollmore Zaoll pants are a good length, if a little snug. They'd fit better if he weren't so well endowed. As for tops, the only things I have that fit were a sweatshirt from Dollmore and the School of Magic set from DollHeart. I did order his Soom outfit: the pants are summer weight but fit. I made the mistake of putting them on him before attempting to attach his head. After that struggle I need to iron the pants before he can wear them. The shirt won't go on at all. It came with the following message: "This shirt is designed as not to be open. Since the fabric is weak we suggest you to wear it taking off shoulder joints for easy way to wear it." Remove his shoulder joints? Meaning I have to restring his arms to put on or remove his shirt? Sorry, Soom. I expect one of my thinner dolls can wear it.

The eyes are from Eyeco. His wig is from Iplehouse.

That's pretty idiotic of soom to make his shirt like that, but luckily you had stuff that fit at least

 

Thanks! I wasn't planning on portraying him as a Harry Potter wannabe, but when something fits I go with it--at least for the time being. I would have saved myself some money if I had known the Soom shirt wouldn't fit. They say the fabric is weak, but the shirt is fully lined and doesn't feel weak to me at all. I'm hoping it will fit my Soul Kid boy.

The news on the shirts is a bit disappointing. I'll have to make a decision when it gets here.

Congrats on Grant! He looks dreamy - those eyes are a nice size for him! And hey, a LOT more students than just Harry Potter went to that school!
