Soom Idealian 51 Discussion

Have they? I didn't know that. I've only ever had a Super Gem and a Rosette from Soom. Not a brain between 'em.

As for the shirts, what I want to know is why Soom couldn't post that info on the shirt's sales page. Maybe they wouldn't sell as many, but people wouldn't be disappointed with what they received.

Thanks! The eyes are 11mm. Soom was selling 10mm acrylics with him and I prefer soft silicone, so I figured my Eyeco eyes would work. And you're right about Hogwarts! Grant is just a fellow Gryffindor.

 

Yeah, I don't understand that about it being "fragile". I have an older idealian51 T-shirt of the thinnest fabric ever, and they still put snaps on it. An invisible zipper in the back or something would for sure put less strain on the shirt than restringing the arms onto the doll while having the shirt on...

 

Newbie here. I am really looking for a more mature mini male, so I was looking at the idealian 51. Is it even possible to order just a plain body and head? I am having trouble with navigating the website.

 

SOOM Idealian" makes ID51, ID72 and ID75. Unfortunately, they only release one of the three dolls per a month, depending on their schedule. For instance, last November they released a ID75 doll and this month in December, they released another ID75 doll. It's best to message them and ask them when they are expecting to make a ID51. (Log in to their website, scroll your mouse to the top tab that says, "Boards" and select "ShoppingQ&A".

Their sale period is short and only last for 2 weeks per month, after that the doll is "sold out" and you will have to wait until they release their next new doll sometimes next month.

To answer your question, it is possible to select just body and head - you simply don't select face-up. (Scroll your mouse to "Idealian" tab and underneath select either Limited edition or Special doll.)

Looks like your prayers has been answered... the next Idealian SOOM will be rreleasing will be an ID51 according to their instagram account "Idealian_studio".

 

And the next ID51, a version of Gluino, is now up for pre-order till January 5th. Who'll be getting him?

 

The "new" idealian is up, it's a 51 cm Gluino...I'm tempted

I love Gluino in this size.. And they offer GREY with romantic vampire head T_T and X-mas kit. Like, I first wanted a Vito guy but now I'm unsure. It's hard to find good comparisons, as his head seems more like yosd sized than msd, which makes him very difficult to imagine in person next to msds. But I hope google and Flickr helps me..

 

The ID51 heads are smaller than regular Volks Yo-SD, at a 5-6" size. But they work well beside 6-7" MSDs. Here's one photo I have, with a Hornblend to the left on the back row (guy with swept back hair on one side and braids on the other, blonde), and a Volks Yo-SD four sisters in the front right. Most of the others are 5-6" headed or 6-7" headed minis.

I don't like stringing big dolls, but this guy I could manage. does Soom send detailed instructions? how do they ship them?

I think we should ask which head is the romantic head. Since the most pictures are of the vampire head, I was thinking it was the basic head and the closed mouth was the romantic head.

The kits are delivered with all the parts individually bubble wrapped. Soom's instructions are not great but there are instructions on DOA and blogs. The 51 guys are strung like the big guys.

I was hoping for a unicorn or some horns sticking out to suit that faceup. Otherwise, the human faceup makes him look sickly and suffering from premature aging.
Also, those photos make him look very tiny! I was hoping for some body shot since I really cant remember how tall he is compare with a ID72

It would be great to have a picture of this face up on Gluino grey skin. I will ask for it on their Q&A.

 

The vampire head is romantic eyed and the human head has normal eyes. I'm definitely getting both if I order

@Tangmalangaloo Why wouldn't you glue him a horn by yourself? They're easy to make, buy some Cernit ^^

And about those "unicorn" horn-head sculpts terrifies me (or just holes alone actually), I hate that hole on the face idea so much, I'm glad they did not put a horn on precious original Gluino head.. it's hard to sand off if the character doesn't need it. I have skipped few cute dolls bc of those horn holes ugh.. horns are okay, but gosh if the horn is taken off *shivers*

 

@Adalwolf - the partially closed eyes are usually Romantic, but they don't say so.
therefore, I want it in writing.
Come to think of it, both heads make the most sense.

has the 51 body been updated since it came out? I was posing Jules (London) with some other dolls and was reminded how basic his joints are. At least he stands well and sits up straight.

 

@petiteballerine Soom sometimes forget to write things or mention details, so I trust the photos and my own two Gluinos this time as it shows he's definitely romantic eyed, but if it somehow helps, feel free to ask (I love the fact he seems r. ver! ) Which one is tempting you the most?
