1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Idealian: Hyperon - Dhampir

Dec 20, 2010

    1. Okay then starting tomorrow, all HYPERON fans can move to a Waiting Room. I'm making the Waiting Room for him! ^^ Thank you and good bye~~~~~!!!! I'm leaving the room to the haters!

    2. Well, obviously, it's something that is being discussed enough that it DOES need to be talked about. More over, it NEEDS to be discussed because in the past, two other companies have been bullied by DoA member to remove dolls (RingDoll's Judges and Nobility Dolls Edward Moon and another doll that was inspired by Jacob from Twilight. It needs to be talked about because why should we, and by "we" I mean the dollfie community, get away with bullying two companies about homage dolls but not Soom?

And again, I'm actually saying this from the community point of view. I'm sorry to say but the moment the discussion about homage dolls left the forums and went to the email boxes of companies, we as a community decided one the issue, at least, a majority enough that it actually had an effect.

    3. yeah! why can't we have our special Hyperon thread fransyung!!! :D this one is about idealians, is it ok for us to have one on only *him* fabulous *him*? :aheartbea

    4. Quite frankly, I don't think 'we' had any business doing that -- this notion that once someone sends an email, they speak for the whole of the community is mind-bogglingly wrong-headed. The community did not email. People with their panties in a rageknot emailed. They sure do not represent me, and if they claim to, I have quite the bone to pick with that monumental arrogance on their part -- because that's exactly what it is, no two ways about it.

    5. My only reason for bringing the up the VHD mailing list that the translator frequents was to point out that if this was licensed (as someone wondered) it would have been brought up on the list. *shrug*

The author is a pretty relaxed guy, he'd probably have been willing to work out a deal. He loves the fans and fan art/fan fiction. It would have been great advertising for the series and guaranteed Soom would have a hard time keeping up with sales. In all honesty, the licensed figures/busts/etc. were not all that impressive.

    6. EXACTLY! Like I said, enough of the DoA members were offended and insulted that they emailed these companies and by doing that, they told these companies that DoA and DoA members don't WANT these kinds of doll.
It doesn't matter what you might think, the truth is, all these people have to do is search the web for usernames to find that those emailers are DoA members and HELL! Once they find that, they can find their usernames and past posts and read up on the posts about their dolls. Most of these doll companies have reps here on the site that DO keep up on doll discussions.
Hence why this IS something we have to talk about!

    7. Please stick to discussing Soom Idealian in this thread, not the general issue of dolls potentially based on other characters. If you'd like to debate larger issues, start a thread in the debate subforum.

    8. Huh? Did Surreality call you a Soom Hater? That doesn't at all sound like her. I did see her say that people seem to find it cool to hate some very successful companies like Volks and Soom, but I didn't see her call you a Soom Hater? Maybe I missed it? Surr is generally a respectable and well-liked member of DOA. It strikes me as odd to see people accuse her of being childish.

Oh, but I totally envy you for your Breccia! I couldn't afford her at the time! She looks utterly beautiful. I bet she's even better in person than she is in the pictures, right? :D I'm another person with countless Soom parts, I have few Soom dolls to go with them, and will probably buy this doll! I think he has a lot of SteamPunk potential!

Edit: Ooph. Just saw your post Moderator-san. With hope I'm on track!

    9. All I can say is I have been wanting an Idealian and missed the first because he sneaked under my radar, as first he was going to be made, then he wasn't. Then the next what 3 or 4 now were all wrong for what I like in my dolls. Now this guy. NS, sexy and have the perfect body. If I can swing him will get him. Only thing that would keep me from this one is weird left hand and costing to much for even my magical CC to afford. Will be looking at every single pic of him and read every detail come the morning of the 22nd.

    10. Maybe we need another thread about it, in that case -- but it is definitely something best suited to the debate forum, and not here. Really, this thread doesn't need the angst and bile and rallying cries to repeat the same nonsense again.

    11. *ignoring all the fighting*

animemom - If they do go with the hand I'm hoping it's an optional part. Or he comes with a normal hand also.

That way he can be D if I want him to be but also be the OC have have in waiting for him most of the time^^

And you can do a pretty long layaway with the bigger guys, will make the staggering fullset cost a little easier to handle :)

    12. If you don't have an ID already, you might want to buy a couple of weights to prep for lifting him out of the box. They are big boys! Heavy, and with astonishing detail! No way are you going to be disappointed with the sculpt, I'd venture. Soom pulled out all the stops making IDs like Gluino. However... they're pricy! :...( You have an excellent point there.

    13. Hear hear! Thanks, Dezarii~ ^^

I'm going to wait until January to order him, tho... Not too much funds left... And I'm still waiting on the Volks Lottery as well... Damn... oAo I hope Soom will allow the longest layaway...

    14. MagicBunny - Wow really? How heavy are they compared to my 5000g SD? You know I didn't even think about how heavy a doll could be.

    15. yeah they are REALLY heavy (heavier than my Mecha angels) and the stringing is like bungy cords. take your time putting his hands feet and head on - i hurt myself in the process really badly putting him together all in one day and then moving on to helping my sis. so i got kind of soured out on him but now that i feel fine and he's out and poses so magnificently (and thanks to $abbatha for supporting me and highly suggesting bonding with him) now i love him :D so my sis and i are looking forward to getting this new super smexy thang Hyperon! ;)

edit: woot Fransyung, we are free to :drool and swoon! Cheers! To bringing in the New Year with these gorgeous boys!!!

    16. Hey fransyung. :) I've never owned a Volks doll. I don't even own Volks clothes, though they're excellent! They're pretty expensive! Good luck on the Lottery though! Soom's pretty reasonable about layaway's though, from what I've seen. I don't generally use layaway. I don't have any direct experience with it with Soom. Usually I'm saving up and holding money in reserve for in case that 'special doll' shows up.

So of course he only shows up after the most expensive holiday of the year.... :...(

    17. Yay for Hyperons... oAo I still have to make one payment on my Gluino and then I'll be all set... for... another jump into the Soom abbyss... =A=

Oh, and MagicBunny... I'm still a newbie inside the Volks pit-of-doom. XD Hopefully I will end it all with Reisner. =A= I will not want another doll from them... evaaarrr! *scratching her wishlist*

    18. Welcome to the Volks pitt of doom! Oh no......Reisner! I luffs him :aheartbea...our Ceciles need him! I have roughly 20-ish Volks dolls...they are the ones that got me started on this! Is there a room where you are discussing the lottery doll you entered for? I'd love to see it!!! And i can't wait for more Hyperon pics!!!

    19. i'll answer my own question XD They weigh 2900g according to the sight which is lighter than my current doll.

Gonna be interesting comparing weights when he finally comes home :)

Edit, it's strange that he would be lighter because comparing measurements he's bulkier than my spirit doll in every way *_*

    20. Tagi: Yeah, no jokes! If they weren't so eminently worth it you'd be like 'Holy crap - exhausting!' Keep hydrated! ;)

Ladyemrys, the line 'and the stringing is like bungy cords' cracked me up! I'm sorry, though, to hear you got yourself hurt putting him together and then helping out your sis re. the move. Oddly, I helped my sis put her Gluino together. The strings had the draw weight of a little wee recurve bow. I was working up a sweat, and it wasn't even because he was so hot (entirely). ;)

Okay, I'm exaggerating! He strings like any Soom doll, just big (almost Mecha size), and it's actually easier to put the head on with the way they've designed the strings around his brain. It just works so cool I sat and marvelled at it once his head was on. These are really excellently designed dolls! Heavy, yes. Worth it? Oh, I strongly recommend an ID if you like larger dolls. They are doll art!
