Soom July MD tiny: 'Keny & Silt – Little Shaman' discussion.

Gorgeous tan boy, right up there with my Beyla/Bygg, Alk and Afi as favorites, this one needs to come home too. Somehow. >_>

My only concern is they look chubbier, especially in the legs. I hope Soom didn't go and change a perfectly good body?

 

I'm absolutely in the love with Keny but, like others, I'm really disappointed in how little SOOM includes for his price. For $377, I'd get the doll, the buffalo skull and the (optional) hooves. For the same price, Afi (who's also tan) came with the doll, another head, another pair of hands, hooves, horns, and a tail.

I'm happy that SOOM made the hooves optional so that the people who didn't want fantasy parts could save money... but I'm so miffed that even though there's so much less pieces, SOOM didn't lower the price for Keny and Silt at all. :/

 

Muuuurrrrrghhhhh SOOM. I was so in love before. Something is missing ._.

Maybe it's all the price confusion that's messing me up

 

I am excited! I'll be getting a Keny. Lol I totally assumed that Silt was the tan one's name. Of course I won't be getting her noooow....*checks how much i'll have to pay if I put on a three month layaway*

 

I originally felt this MD was a little more expensive. No sleeping head and no wings/tail and no extra hands. That being said, I'll probably get one anyway. The face mold is just really sweet, I love each and every feature! I wish I could resist!

I can't believe how little they come with. It's making me rethink my purchase. This is a doll I can barely afford, so I don't know if I'm going to feel like I'm getting my monies worth :\

oh god, what if this is their new angle, more human based than animal/fantasy based. That's what Keny and Silt feel like to me D:

And yeah, if I was able to do a 4-part layaway, I'd be able to get away with less then 100 a payment! Urrrrrrgh! MUST! RESIST! TTATT It's so hard! I want it, but...shouldn't get it, but...it's so AFFORDABLE!

 

Ya know, I was a little :-/ feeling about my Iv. He cost $327 like all the others but came with no extra head. He did come with extra hands and forearms, and extra feet and shins, and transluscent ears. I guess he wasn't too bad but I felt like I deserved another head.

 

Did anyone else notice the little Chi Rho on Silt's belt? You know you're an art history nerd when you recognize that out of everything else.

 

I just checked layaway prices for me, and it's $134 for a 60 day layaway for a Keny blank with hooves. This is most affordable! I'll be bugging money off of my father, I suspect. xD I need me a tiny buffulo babby!

 

Maybe they're starting to do this because they notice a lot of people split off pieces? I think they want to reduce that, since they don't sell parts separate or anything, they'd rather just sell the human doll for people who only want the human. Compared to Glot/Glati this one seems to come with the same amount really, hooves and horns (aka a hat). I think people just got too used to extra heads and optional hands. I think they're really cute, though!

 

Yay! I'm glad that you can get him~ for us to get blank doll + hooves +wig is just over 600nzd, which is like, just over budget, but on the 4 part layaway that's like $150(nzd) a month. Hopefully we'll be able to get him all at once though~

 

Yeah, that'd be awesome, all at once. There is no way I could manage it, but hopefully I'll be able to pay off the layaway faster.

Does anyone know if Soom does that, allow you to pay off a layaway faster then normal?

EDIT: It's actually $154 Aus dollars for me. I know that seems excessive to America, but I am so happy. The Australian dollar is making a recovery! It's no longer one zillion dollars for me to buy doll related things! DD

 

You could always just put the money for the layaway into your paypal so that it's there when the time for the payment comes up, if you get paid more then once a month.

 

I like them, but I'm really, REALLY thrown off by the hooves. I hope I'm not the only one who realized that they're Glati/Glot hooves recast. I compared them, and I'm positive they're the exact same. As much as I was really looking forward to bringing Keny home, I'll be passing this time.

 

The option parts are often recast, that's nothing new. o_O I honestly don't think it's that big of a deal, personally.

And, IIRC, SOOM says that you can pay on your layaway any time, or at least you can pay it off in full at any time~

 

They are but eh. In a different skintone now. So if you wanted those kind of hooves for your Afi or normal skinned ones for any other doll or did prefer the jointed hooves, great. Besides, they're optional. I don't think I'm getting them either-- once I decide if I'm getting one at all hmm.

I've done that before, pay two at once and finish a layaway. It's all cool.

 

I'll be getting Keny... even though I also feel like they are, all things considered, more expensive than the other tinies. The fact that the hooves are not included in the $330 base price is throwing me off a lot! o.o If you compare that to a normal Teenie Gem ($250), that basically makes the skull cap $80.

 

I did that tooo! I commented on the teaser page that I hoped they were making Silt the same color as Afi lol. I think it was the name/ doll order on the teaser page.

I thought they were cheaper till I saw the hooves bit. hummmm Even Alk had wings & talons not just a skull and hooves. I might still be getting Keny anyway maybe, I think I need a matching doll for my Afi, layaway here I come?
