Actually they aren't total recasts, it looks like they just used Glot's hooves for a base. The actual hoof is wider and more angled inward/bugger toe gap like a buffalos as opposed to a sheep's.
Well Glot/Glati were reaaaally popular so there's no surprise to me they are doing them again. Plus one can get them in tan. I'm glad they went back to this design, however the bottom part looks a little longer to me. Happy at all the options, just hope Soom sticks to it, cause its gonna make a lot of people happy. I just realized they look like little siblings to Aphan.
I think the hooves are adorable.. I think I like them more than Afi/Ai's.. but I think I like Afi/Ai's head. I wonder if maybe I might hybridize with an Afi head. Hmm.. ideas. But Keny has such a cute face! But.. those deer ears!

I'd like to point out amisdt all this belabor about the pricing, this is also a new body. I personally don't know ANY company that doesn't put the price up for new bodies. The splitting of the pieces- well, there are a lot, A LOT of whiners in the Soom forums having little cries about the fantasy dolls and how they have to PAY for the EXTRA bits when they don't WANT them oh the woe and tears! So if you want to go kick someone for this new angle, remember, Soom is trying to do what the customers want and those whingers are what they measured this one by. Also, this style of hooves ? they are doing A LOT of dolls at the moment, and Glot and Glati sold well. How many styles of hooves can you DO? So what, soom is a Company, not an independant artist exploring their boundries. They're there to make money. They're going to go with the best option for profit, and if it's Glot and Glati hooves? So be it. But for me? SQUEEEEE! Hooves? so what, I didn't really care if they had hooves (or wheels or tenticles, as suggested) just so long as they looked good and yes, yes they do! X3 *sighs* WHY do all the good things come out at once?
I agree. This base price hurts, especially since I usually split off the extras and share the cost of EMS. This will definitely be the most costly MD Teenie Gem for me if I decide to get one. Which is funny because for the first time I felt certain that I would be purchasing this MD before the sale page went up and now I'm not so sure. I think I'll sleep on this one for a few days at any rate. I'll probably end up springing for Keny though. I'm already losing my resolve as I type this! Poop!
I feel much the same way - I was so sure I'd order him, and now I'm thrown... but I will buy him anyway, because I know I would regret it later if I didn't (like I am regretting not buying Alk). No matter how much they cost now, they are guaranteed to cost much more second-hand later on.

Oh I saw that now! Personally I think a little creepy when people put symbols on objects just because they look cool, especially religious symbols. I guess the little dagger isn't included in the outfit either, darn it!

I guess you buy now and if you don't like them later you can always sell them in the MP. So I guess you, me, and Leenikins are all losing our resolve together!

They aren't the same. Keny & Silt's toes are more split & pointed. And the fur is styled much differently. They are similar, but not the same hooves. THANK YOU SOOM. For FINALLY listening to me!!!!! I've been asking for ages now that they offer blushing options...I'm pretty much the only one who ever complained about this in MD threads *sweat* I usually only want body blushing, not fantasy blushing. It's great that the cost is cheaper now. The price does seem a little high if you include the hooves, but not by much since tan always costs more. Overall I think it's good that they changed how the MDs are sold. I'm curious to see what they do for extra heads though and how much they'll ask for them. At least they aren't selling the mask as an option. This should definitely end the overcharging of fantasy parts in splits. It will be pretty hard to ask for $100+ when they only cost $42-$47 blank.
Yes, actually they love that. I wanted to pay of my Aphan in three installments instead of four and they said to go right ahead. That being said, now that I gave them so much money for Aphan I'll have to ask them, if they accept a four months layaway for Keny. I'm not too thrilled with the outfit except for the cloak, which I really like. Does anyone want to split the outfit? ^^
They are quite cute, but I'm disappointed in what little they come with. I still adore the tan one's face (probably due to the similarities with Afi, who I really wanted but at the time said I didn't need any small dolls like that), but overall I'm happy that I got the skull mask for my Grit in a split, I'll stick with that.
Ugh, darn you Soom! I'm really unsure now. I like that you don't need to get the fantasy parts (I love them but don't have much of a need for them) and that they have a better jointing system.... but a soom baby wasn't in the plan! And I don't have money atm. Layway? Hmm... Gah I hate you, Soom.
Well, I'm gonna end up ordering Keny for the body. I asked Soom to make sure and they said it's they same "cepting for process difference". So my Afi will have a body! w00t!
Nnngh, having second thoughts. Have visions of an adorable little con artist/gentleman thief... Well, at least I have until the end of the month to decide... Although I promised myself no more impulse buy dolls until I get the few I've been wanting (Souldoll Shiva, Dollshe Saint...) so...
ooooh why must they be soo cute! D: i do love the new style of the cloven hooves though! (if you look at the glot and glatie hoovies, their less chibi-fied. and more sharp edged. :3 much more like tiny chalco hooves. its sad its only a partial re-sculpt, but then so were the heliot and the bygg and beyla hooves. i'm a sculptor i'm obsessed...) their faces are very adorable! but i do like the new hands! its such a shame :/ i think i'll be forever wanting one of them just like the breccia's.. and new arm joints! D: they look to acturaly work too. damn soon :/ but sadly one in-coming grumpy hoovie is enough for me.
