Soom July MD tiny: 'Keny & Silt – Little Shaman' discussion.

Damn. Soomed... well, the prospect looks black - especially since I consider sticking a little Silt next to my NS Chalco and kinda melt with the cutness...

Damn SOOM and every other bloody "We have a June Event" company.

 

I have to say that I'm disappointed that there's only the human head. I really like the pouty look, but either I have to find someone who'll mod the ears so that he looks more like Aphan, or I'll have to buy an Afi head and mod the eyes open. :/

 

Hrm. I am on the fence. I love the idea of NS and tan tinies and they are cute but . . .

I agree that they come with so little for the price. ; _; I think they may be even more disappointing than Hati & Skoll in this area! IMHO, the new body is no excuse for that as Soom was (again, IMHO) seriously overdue for body updates, and many companies do not raise the price for "new" version bodies. And I wonder . . . are the human legs even double jointed? They made a big effort to show that off with Aphan.

What with Volks trying to get their hooks in my wallet too, I will have to think long and hard about these little ones. They are so tempting but so pricey. Congrats to you lucky people who are bringing them home!

 

From what I've noticed companies do tend to raise the prices on new bodies, at least just a little bit. Though I haven't ever been in the market for tinies until recently, so I'm talking from an SD point of view. I assume it's the same, for the most part. But I could be wrong. *shrugs*

I'm a bit thrown off by the price as most people are, it just feels like there isn't much to them. But they're so darned cute. and Soom has been releasing a LOT of dolls lately, we can't expect them all to be super amazing with extras attached at every joint. Sometimes less is more, and I think these little guys would look simply adorable with a little buffalo tail attached to their kilts.
T ^ T I however was not expecting to like the tan. Same with chalco, but when I got my chalco in the mail I was amazed at how dark he was. Hmm, ponder ponder...

 

Even though I didn't expect to see a fantasy head I'm pretty
disappointed.....I don't really like plain ears/OE heads.
I wish Soom would let me buy only a body LOL *sigh*

 

Sigh, nice that soom have changed the bodies, but they are still not jointed enough for me. Looks like I will be waiting and buying parts again sans body. I just cannot convince myself to like Soom bodies.

 

hmmm, I'll agree that they don't seem to some with a lot of extras. If you add the hooves to Silt it brings the total to $327 which is the usual base price for a teenie md, and Keny's base is sorta usual for colored resin. But the only extras are the hooves and the skull. They don't even seem to come with an additional set of hands?
Ah well. I'm still set on getting the Keny body for my Afi head.

Yay they really are quite boring! I'm thrilled! ::laughs::
The feet look exactly like Glot/Glati's, and since I already have Glot there's no need for a doll with identical fantasy parts. (though I do like the painting on the tan one's hooves, very nicely done).
The skull is cute, but not enough to bother with the doll.
The headsculpt itself is adorable but very much a boy and thus not at all for me.

This is my first time EVER being safe from a Soom tiny! It's a really great feeling!!

The more I look at it, the more dissapointed I get. They actually have no extras ecxept the bull-head, and I so, so, so wanted their shaman cane
Well, I think I will buy Keny anyways, I just love him, but... yhea, slightly dissapointed....

 

ahh im so getting the little tan! the color it's just the same as chalco and he's lovely
also wig and clothes!
and i don't care if he has hooves similar to other tinies (just because i don't own any) they're so cute XD
at least with those tinies they gave the option to get hooves also in NS and Tan (others was grey and white i bet).

 

I'm actually quite liking these! Too bad it's only the elbow joint that got upgraded.
Their faces are nice, and I'm actually quite happy that the fantasy parts are optional!

The more I look at them, the more I'm loving their faces. They're so understated it's just deceiving! But they're very versatile- they pout, look grumpy AND smile deviously depending on the angle they're photographed at.

 

Optional fantasy parts work great for me too, because I already have talons.
But, no WS doll ;___;
So I'm not soomed this round, I need WS. Too bad.
I do agree on the expensive-notes stated above, for the things you get, they are greatly expensive.

 

I'm actually not so sure if I agree with the expensive comments. A regular non-limited Teenie Gem costs $250, and Silt (the NS one) is $285.
Just because we DoA-ers split the price of a doll differently over the parts on the Marketplace, than Soom has now done on their website doesn't make the doll expensive. You could actually speculate that the price of hooves on the Marketplace here will go down. Soom is prone to making hooves every now and again, and if they are continuing making them optional for $47 unblushed, people would rather wait a while and join a split than pay $100-$200 for hooves on the Marketplace.

But ofcourse I could be wrong. I'm only human, after all

After coming back from the movies and buying dinner, I have $47 in the bank, so I shall be certainly be asking my dad if I can borrow enough for the first layaway. After that I should be sweet because I can time it with my paydates. I really want Keny. A lot of me really wants Silt as well, but not enough to actually get one, I think. I don't care about the outfit and such, it's nice, but whatevs, but I think this is the Soom tinie whose face I have liked the best.

 

OoO I just noticed, by some insane co incidence, they have a very similar wig to my Appini! That's just... awesomely perfect! (In my lot, dolls from the same company are always siblings XD)
Maaan, gunna HAVE to get him now. What's that I hear? Was that the sound of my will power breaking?

 

Thanks for the link to the Soom picture palartok. It actually makes me
less interested in buying Keny (ugh...why keny?)....but the new joint does
look really nice! I'm just not sure I need another tan teenie gem body since
only the elbow is new.
I always thought a lot of people had really high asking prices for fantasy
parts in splits, hopefully people won't try to ask for much more than Soom
has the hooves listed at.

 

Hehe. We've decided to go for a Silt rather than Keny :3 my girlfriend saw Silt and went 'o.o I like that one~' and we talked about it, and Silt is just so adorable but definitely more feminine. So, she's going to be a girl. But if I suddenly win the lottery between now and the end of the ordering period, I would so get both XD

 

I must admit I wish they came with at least another set of hands... but I do love their faces and those hooves are lovely... I didn't think I would like a set of hooves more than Glot and Glati's...

Another set of hands would be nice, but if you get Keny, you could always pick up up a set of Ai hands, possibly. It's a shame there aren't more NS SOOM tinies ;w;

And I agree, their hooves are adorable! I can't wait to see them naked~
