Soom July MD tiny: 'Keny & Silt – Little Shaman' discussion.

I've been considering the possibility of getting a second tan body too actually as I have the second Afi head just sitting around.
Though knowing my luck I'd end up wanting all the fantasy parts, and the blushing, or something annoying like that, so I'd end up with practically a fullset price wise ANYWAY.
If the lighter one is NS, I'm totally safe there anyway because I really don't like NS.. it all just depends on whether I want to go for the tan body.. or go for a totally blank doll (would have to be NS I guess?) and dye it...

Or I could just STOP THINKING ABOUT THIS, be content with my Nenad and the probably female Little Gem release next month, and leave it at that!
I already have one of every Soom teeny up to this point except Hati or Skoll.. this cycle needs to STOP. xD

 

Oh man oh man oh mannnn....I wasn't planning on getting another doll until august (I just bought a pipos cheshire with our saved up spare change last week...) but I can't resist those little skully helmets! Its like something I would draw, and that's what makes me want it.....at least they have layaway.....
I will probably be totally sold once I see their cute widdle feetsies....I just know it.

 

As others have pointed out, considering they are the companion tinies of Coquina, and she was available in NS and tan, those're the colors they'll be offered in too. I'm ninety-nine percent certain about it.

 

Now here's a thought..

What if.. they DON'T HAVE HOOVES?
I mean, I saw tan and what I think is normal skin. I'd heard that the next dolls were going to be Coquina like. Saw the skull helmets.
I just ASSUMED hooves and left it at that.

Now, I don't know that much about shaman so maybe I'm missing something here but, do shaman have any relation to hooves AT ALL?
Could we be seeing something TOTALLY different here?
I'm not sure why, but shaman makes me think more of a bird than a hooved animal.
Plus, the skull hat now no longer needs to be a representation of that animal as with it was with Chalco and Coquina, it would just be a shaman doing what a shaman does.
I don't know nearly enough about shaman to speculate properly here. ^_^;;

However, if they DO have something not hooved going on down there, I might be interested after all.
I'd just have to really think about what to do with them this time because the eyes, wig and clothes are all quite dull to me so far.

 

Midnite, Whenever I think of a shaman I think of shape shifters ^^; Mostly because of WoW. I think, in RL, shaman-like rituals have to do with all kinds of animals. I highly doubt Soom would deliver regular feet, and to match with the helmets I'm certain they'll make little buffalo hooves, or something of the sort, to go along.

 

I was kind of hoping for something really crazy here. ^_^;
Like for some reason I can imagine totem pole feet! ::laughs::
Or strange bundles of straw or something. Feathers!
If it had to be an animal, I can imagine bird feet the most.

I guess I'm just hoping they won't go the hooves route again when there are so many more amazing ways this could go!

If Soom somehow doesn't give them hooves, though, I hope people don't go "baaawww"ing all over the site :/
I'd be happy if they surprise us with something really unexpected~
Also, It's quite embarrassing reading many of the comments. If they have hooves people will complain and if they don't, well.. people will still complain. I usually wonder if the Soom staff actually reads or understands over half of what is said/suggested. lol

 

I honestly hope they don't. :/ It makes me want to beg them to remove the ability to leave comments, just because of all the hateful things people say, but I figure if they felt it was a big enough problem, they would. We probably make more of a big deal out of it then they do.

 

I really don't think people are complaining to Soom though is the weird thing.
I think people are complaining to all the other customers who read the comments! ::laughs::
It's like, everyone feels the need to have their opinion heard to the rest of the doll community. Rather than just writing it here on DoA, they go to the board.
It only takes ONE person to do that and then someone else feels the need to back it up.
For example, the first comment might be someone saying, "Wow this doll is great!". Someone who really dislikes the doll reads that and thinks their opinion should be up there too and so writes, "Actually I think this doll isn't do great."
Then all the people who love the doll come on and bash the people who don't. The people who don't love it get irritated that they're not allowed to have their opinion and insult the doll even more, and it all just spirals out of control. ::laughs::

I for one only comment on the dolls I like, simply because I don't feel the need to tell Soom, "BY THE WAY I THINK THIS DOLL IS BORING."
Yes, so far I do think these two are quite simple and dull, but so many people like them, so clearly I'm in the minority and thus, what's the point in me spamming the comment section with THIS SUCKS? xD

 

So... I'm not safe and yet in a way I am safe. I'm thrilled... THRILLED!!!! that one is the tan/bronze skin, so in that respect, I'm getting Silt. On the other hand though, as cute as the skull helmet is, I'm not in love with it, and unless the fantasy bits are amazingly unique, I'll probably pass on them too (I really want a human Yo-SD for once dang it!!). So, in short, I'm getting the doll, 100%, but I will probably be splitting off the extra stuff from the basic that I'm not fond of.

By the looks of it however, there seems to only be one head? Perhaps the prices will be a bit lower if this is the case? (hahaha yea yea, I know, just wishful thinking!)

EDIT: By the way... perhaps it's just me, but the mouths on these cuties feel like they're vaguely... Beryl-based?

I do think their lips are a little Beryl-ish

If my memory serves me well a Shaman is a medicine man, someone who can commune with the ancestors (usually in animism), in essence a Shaman is connected to all animals. However, I think that these little ones will still have hooves. It's okay by me. The only thing that Soomed me this month was the skull. But that's just me

I'm also quite saddened by the comment section of Soom's dolls. It's slowly turning into the comment section of Youtube :::

at first I wasn`t so sure if i liked the mouths but the more I look at them the cuter they get X__X
I think I might be going for the (hopefully) NS one and turn it into a girl *__*

and that cute helmet ist just over the top --> I`m somewhat hoping they give a *face-up* option for the skull since there probably won`t be another head (I won`t be able to afford the whole body blushing U_U"")

I always told myself if I did get a fullset MD, I'd just go out and find a way to get the full body and facial blushing, so there's really no way of getting around that for me. The wig is pretty much perfect for Deja, too, so I can keep that even though it won't stay with little Logan. But the outfit probably isn't something I'll be interested in, and the eyes don't quite work right. That at least keeps the price down. And I don't really think much about shoes for my dolls until I have everything else, so those are something I won't be buying if I do find a way to get this little guy.

To be honest I don't think the NS and Tan because Coquina was released that way opinion is particularly valid at all. I thought the Monzo tinies would release that way because of NS and GS used, but if you look at them, they didn't!

I'm HOPING for NS. But I honestly don't think there's really a snowball's chance in hell. If they are NS, I'll be surprised as all get out (and HAPPY OMG).

And I'm honestly hoping for hooves with these guys. FOR ONCE I actually WANT the fantasy parts. I'm hoping they'll be some kind of hooves T____T

 

From what I read, any living creature can be a "power animal" with the exclusion of those domesticated. They can be mammals, reptiles or sea creatures and even insects.

I'd still guess based on the skull and horns that this one is going to have hooves.

 

So pretty much everyone thinks that the pale doll is normal skin?

 

I think it's heavily blushed WS. I'm highly doubting it's NS, but most people seem to think it is, yes.
