Soom June MD: 'Coquina- Eternal Destiny' discussion.

Yeah the dress is WAY too long. Now all the pics or up I can see for certain.
It should either be much longer, or much shorter. As it stands, it looks like an old woman dress or something x_x
Shoes are beautiful though.

The wig is surprisingly nice. But brown = urgh.

Hooves are painted so horribly boringly too.

Her head sculpt may have grown on me a lot though. More staring to be done.


Edit :: And BUFFALO DOLL? x_x If anything I'd think a boy buffalo would be a better choice.

I don't like her, I am really glad I wasn't saving up waiting for this one.

I loved the ethereal beauty of some of the previous sculpts, and while some may say that they are glad for a less-pretty look, she just looks like a simple homespun to me. I also think that those hooves have not enough detail and are far too large (I mean Amber's were pushing it size-wise as it is).

Her face seems to look innocent in NS and evil in bronze. Back to waiting for FaeryLegend.

I am liking the NS face significantly more. Figures they'd finally make a tan girl... and I can't do the tan for beheading purposes. :P

She's just a female Chalco. If you're a faun-crazy I understand your enthusiasm, she's cool per se. But the marine theme was just too misleading for the mermaid fans out there...

I like her face in bronze. It has grown on me and if an overall more interesting job had been done, I'd have wanted her.
But I have no interest in a buffalo doll.. the parts painting is dull.. her fantasy parts in general seem lacking.
Her skirt makes her look like a frumpy old woman. Her makeup is way too pale and neutral.
And.. BUFFALO??? I really have no interest or need for a BUFFALO.

I like.. the eyes... of course. xD

But hey, this means I AM SAFE. Like I wanted to be!
Even safe from the outfit as none of my dolls are old women xDDD

Overall disappointed that once again the girl releases get a bunch of neutral, but I'm holding out for the faery legend section to be amazing instead!

 

I know..i will rather prefer a sort of variant of Cass..but the connection with chalco and aphan was clear to me...

 

Never mind! i might get her! I really really want her!!

The feature similarities... the skull... it was obvious. I just wanted another mermaidy MD so bad!!!

Ah, on the bright side, it means I'm safe money-wise... and I can start saving for another future MD doll with fins (for sure Cass wasn't a one-shot! ).

 

ehhh, like I said before, don't like her...but her as normal skin is better imo.

 

Since there hasn't been a hooved SG since Cuprit over a year ago, I can't exactly argue that the hooves thing is played out right now, I mean, even Chalco was 6 months ago, and he didn't have this sort of hoof (I had seriously figured that they'd abandoned the style, and I was super sad about it).

She is exactly what I needed her to be for the character in my avatar: the right face, resin color, and hoof style, but I have NO money. None. So no idea what I am going to do right now. Since I have to travel out of town at the end of this month, my budget is pretty well tied up, but my bf said he'd see if he can help me somehow when we get back, so here's hoping!

 

Well, they got me again. I can console myself with the knowledge that GirlyChrom, who was supposed to be a satyr girl from the start, will have the absolute perfect body -- something I had actually given up hope of ever actually getting. So that is a happy ending.

I expected to really want that outfit, but while it's in the greatest colors in the world for me, for that price, it's something I would prefer to make. I have a pile of silk and a pile of dye waiting for me to do, well, pretty much that with it, and that money's already spent, so I can't quite justify buying her outfit. Those fantabulous shoes, on the other hand... *innocent whistling*

 

Oh, let me add though that generally speaking she is ULTRA boring, holy crap... I think Soom can do way more interesting designs. She's what *I* need, and I love her for that, don't get me wrong, but for an MD I think she's quite lackluster when it comes to the WOW factor. Water buffalo? Really? Esh. I felt the same way about Breccia, too, though.

I love that she's what I was looking for, but I feel bad for everyone who was waiting to have their minds blown, there's nothing new here at all, just a lot of recycled stuff.

 

Bleh, Soom. You always do beautiful work, even now, but I was really hoping for something special. Her face looks kind of froggy from some angles, weirdly enough. I like the idea of a buffalo because I love buffalo but I wanted to see something different, preferably serpentine. Oh well, I would have actually been tempted by her had she been something else, but now I am safe. Her hands and face are still quite beautiful, and the eyes, dress, and wig are nice too.

Upon futher inspection and midnite's comments, I do have to agree the dress is pretty ill fitting and cut. It's a pretty colour and a prettier idea but badly played out. This girl is...mediocre at best simply because she's just not unique at all. >< Still desireable for people wanting hooves, sure, but that's where the appeal is going to end for most people. I would have loved to have seen a small bust too. >< Oh well. Getting through this month just means....more tinies next month!!! *starts the waiting again*

 

Don't worry, rottedgirl, there's always the market here afterwards, so you can start saving, there's always time.

 

Ugh, Soom. Hooves AGAIN? Absolutely nothing original about this girl other than her head sculpt, which is kinda unusual for Soom. And I do agree that she looks innocent in NS (which comes off looking like WS to me somehow) and evil in tan, haha.

Her colours are really quite boring, too. Thank goodness her dress is green so SOMETHING pops out on her. Well, I'm glad that I'm safe from her because I have a ton of other limited dolls I want. @.@

If there's one part I want from her it's her hands! But sadly they're not in white skin, so no luck for me. Bah. The shoes are nice too, could snatch those in a split maybe~!

P.S. I kind of like the dress. XD

 

at first I couldn't help but think 'oh look, it's really just a female chalco. great.'

But then I realized that she came in normal skin, meaning that her hooves are normal skin, just like my Beryl. But now the question is can I afford getting the hooves? They actually have the usually missing joint which impresses me. And I also wanted the horns, but now I'm not sure if I like their shape. If only I had the money, this wouldn't be a problem. But I have to work all summer to pay off my Beryl already, I don't think I should even be thinking about getting her more things, especially not resin parts.

Why must everything be about money xP
