What does "Yami" mean? As in the description of the hands.

I really like her horns, hooves, and gorgeous glitter eyes! Her face is pretty cute, too, although different from the other monthlies - though it just looks to me like she is a teenager instead of a grown woman like the others, not that she is blander or uglier or something...

Yeah, this - in natural skin she looks, for all the world, like a sweet and innocent young girl. In tan skin she looks older/more mature and also a little devious and less friendly maybe the different faceups are what make it so.

 

I really like all of her, unfortunately! I love her bright, intelligent face and I like her hooves. I think the inspiration is rather clever and unique, not boring at all. And her dress is pretty and doesn't look like a Las Vegas cocktail waitress costume. All good things!

Argh. I did not want another big layaway!

 

I felt the same way about Galena in the different skin colors, the grey looked more devilish and the white more serene. I like that the sculpts can be interpreted differently depending on tone/face-up.

 

I didn't catch if anyone's mentioned it yet, I'm looking at the picture of her headcap, does she have pointy-ish ears?

 

I actually really like her background story. It's interesting. I'm not entirely sure I've properly understood it as I was reading it quickly, but even just the idea of, "a girl who herds a god's cattle" is interesting.

Her face doesn't do it for me, I'm not really interested in large hoovies, and I don't have the money right now even if I did. xD But I think she's a nice doll and I'd love to see what people do with her.

I hope you're able to get her at least on the second-hand market, rottedgirl. But here's to hoping you're able to get her the first time around so you don't have to deal with scalped prices. D:

 

she just didnt hit with me! I love soom dolls but this is one I just pass even if I had the money.... I hope they dont try to do so much each month they start to lose whats great and thats the thought behind each doll.....

I'm not sure what to think with this girl....I've let so many pass before because the promo pics put me off....I DO however like her hooves, the three part leg works much better IMO than Chalco/Amber style legs, that's why she's a little taller too.

If she were offerred in cw, I would buy her cos then I could get a cw Galena head or even a Cass or Amber head (not that there's many of those floating about), but apart from Beryl and Dia, there aren't any other ns SG female heads are there?

The dress is ok, but I wouldn't pay extra for it and I'm sorry but......I REALLY think that wig is not the best to show her off at all.

Still wondering...she's not in my plans, I was planning my next as an SD boy, but if her nose were sanded.....maybe, maybe!

 

Seconding this.
What saves me is that she has hooves and not something more unsual. Hooves are beloved by many and sell very well. However, my collection doesn't need a hooved doll, and she's not SO striking that I have got to have her human form, so I'm safe. Probably.

 

She may require a little modding from me to make her 100% perfect for the character I have in mind, a bit of a nose sanding, maybe some upper lip work, but generally I think all she'd need is the right face-up to nail the look, so I'm really pleased. If she has even remotely pointy ears (comparing them to Breccia's, they definitely look to be a different shape- how exciting!) she'd really be sooo fitting, I'm SO happy Soom made a NS hooved girl finally. I WILL have her!

"Yami" is actually Japanese for "darkness." I think that's what they were going for?

Seems like a bit of an odd name for parts for a water buffalo though. If anything were to be called "yami" parts you'd think it'd be Monzo's or Euclase's. *Shrugs*

 

I like Coquina - she is really cute!

The problem for me is that I don't quite find her as breathtakingly beautiful as some former MDs.

I am pretty certainly going to have to do a split for hooves though. I know most people aren't super stoked about hooves again, but personally I missed all of the previous chances to pick up Super Gem-sized ones ^^; ...So, I am happy!

And um, wow. . . she's only $10 less than Monzo? Looks like I won't have any use for the eyes, since they're 16 mm. . . I'd probably want 14 mm.

 

My computer decided to kill my internet while I was waiting yesterday (unbelievable timing) so I haven't been able to see her until now... and I'm in serious trouble. She is a dream come true for me, but there's about zero chance of me being able to get her anyone up for some bank robbing?

I've not stopped thinking about her since this morning and think I have to have her! It's a kind of paradox thing going on.....the more beautiful a doll, the less I do with her (Supia Rosy, Beryl, Unidoll Lily....my cases in point), particularly the NS Coquina, I suddenly see so much potential in her, it's like her face is not less beautiful, just more of a blank canvas. Two of the promo pics especially did it for me, the one where she is looking directly at the camera and you see her face full view (normal skin) and the very last shot....she looks so sweet!
