Soom Legend Collection: Tremo - Fire Bird

May 7, 2012

    1. the new bodies are really expensive it seems :(

    2. Agreed :(.

I dont know what to think about new body, its not bad but I loved the older too. I think they should keep boths bodies. There too many overmuscled bodies around already, and small choice on lean once.

Well as much as I disliked him first as much I want him now :shudder
Its great they offer him as human which definitely makes him more tempting for much many people :)
The tan skin version looks gorgeous:aheartbea

    3. Second this. But I'm very happy that Soom listened to everybody about the fantasy parts. Mega kudos to them!

    4. I really wish they'd listen to the other party that wants to hold on to the old body. ^^ Anyway, doesn't anyone think the head looks too big on the new body? Or is it just me? >.> And the hips are too narrow.

    5. Maybe it's just me, but this is how I feel they should be doing their MDs. Granted, it makes the second hand market for parts a little thinner and maybe mans someone has to search more for all they want if they are searching there (though I think that's the case anyways), but I think they would sell a lot more this way. I feel from looking around here that for the past year or more they've been selling fewer and fewer dolls each time since they started making them so extreme and with more resin parts that people are feeling more "meh" on. Each one is still pretty unique, but they're appealing to smaller groups. For whatever reason, they didn't keep doing what they did with Cass in making her available as human only.

As for price, that does seem a little steep, but the basic always-for-sale super gems are also priced at $585 each. So considering he's limited and potentially bigger, I can almost see the $615 price by comparison?
Also Cass's human only was also at $618, unless I'm interpreting that wrong.

Edit: just adding I'm on the fence on bodies. I like seeing new ones, but I like the old ones to stay too. Though I understand if they don't want to sell him on the old body because the new parts won't fit and inevitably, someone is going to have a fit about it.
I always felt the old one was lean but not thin, which has been reasonable enough for me.

    6. I have always wanted them to do the fantasy parts a la carte...I admit I did buy him... in tan with just the head crests, though I swore I was going to wait in case the Forest Diety was awesome (Soom, you need to make something I don't like this year!) ;) I figured if he was expensive anyway I might as well get him in the color I really wanted, though I cheaped out on the outfit, much as I love it.

I think Ice Mutt (as usual) :) is right in her view of the pricing.

    7. Yeah Im sort of mixed too, one the one hand those are some seriously defined abs but on the other I like his range of posability, thats encouraging.

added: Whats funny though is the new body posing thread is what made me fall in love with Gneiss...this one sort of made me feel very okay with my decision not to get him.

    8. Yeah, I figured as much with the pricing, but I'm still sitting on this here fence :)

    9. something about the new boys mouth and chin irk me. While I think what they did to the new body is differentially an improvement! But really soom, they are almost as much as an IDEALIAN!

    10. I also agree with Ice Mutt on the pricing. He might be expensive, but he is also not much more expensive than the last MDs were - the difference to Arkose, Migma and Bazael, which have approximately the same level of fantasy part complexity, and also a similar number of parts, is not big. And he does have a body that is new (meaning development costs) and maybe more complex, too (considering it uses a faceplate system and double-jointed knees etc), so the 15-dollar-difference could be explained by that.

The idea to make the fantasy parts available separately will bring big profit to Soom. I just hope they keep the "all parts in one" releases, too, because with the "surprise event" system, to buy all parts costs much more than in the original release!

And fishcake - I am also guilty of buying him. In the first, all-parts, version. Crab claws, I say. Crab claws.

    11. Dollblue muhwhahaha ! Your King Crab shall rule the world! And you will have a twofer--one form of the King Crab and then you can shift him into the Phoenix with some Halloween Store feather wings. You will rule the sea and the air. ;) (And congratulations, of course)

That upcoming Forest Diety better be a slug, or something.:o

Edit: Might actually buy a Soom Slug. The horns would be adorable.

    12. C'mon Soom I know why you did it, but if they lower the price they will buy.

    13. bwahahahaha! Now I don't have to utter that horrible, horrible word that got mylast post deleted. darn you, Fish, you had to show me the new development ... ;)

    14. dollblue, I would very much like to see what you do with him. XD
They really do need to revisit the crab.

fishcake, I could easily see them doing eyestalk-horns and all sorts of transparent pieces, and then they'd top it with the most spectacular translucent blushing ever. XD

I keep giggling at the one body-demo shot of him with his leg shot straight up in the air.

    15. fishcake and Ice Mutt, to be honest I am a bit afraid of the possible work that I will have to do to make the crab arms work. This will probably be my first time of serious modding.

And you both are right! The Soom Forest Slug must come into existence! Absolutely! This would be the craziest fantasy-themed doll ever. With a jointed slug body instead of legs. In transparent resin. XD (just imagine they read this thread, as they often do, and really make a slug O.o)

By the way, for those who already bought him - Sianserais has made a Waiting Room: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?517054-SOOM-LC-Tremo-Fire-Bird

I did too--I couldn't really think of an occasion when a phoenix would do that, unless he took up synchronized swimming ;)

He'd need a human form, though--I like head ornaments and then a human body, which is how Soom picked my pocket with Gneiss and Tremo. But slug body from the hip down in Amber's clear resin. And then the photos would be Safe For Work. Kinda.

I did enjoy the pictures of Tremo demonstrating the new body. It made me happy I ordered the Simple Body (more beautiful, IMO) and it also made me glad I got him in tan--I like the NS but his birdy features are really highlighted by the tan. And the tan resin is quite nice--I have some tan Chalco hooves and the resin hasn't greyed or gotten crumbly or any other things You Don't Want With Tan.

    17. Well, I've fallen for him. And here I thought I was going to be able to swear off Soom dolls. I've been so good, too. Haven't purchased one in over a year. **sigh**

    18. I wonder what a Soom turtle would look like. >_>

Can't wait to see body pictures.

    19. Clouded Mind "Diety of Ocean"...he'd look amusingly like a Ninja Turtle, I bet ;)

    20. fishcake- I've been trying to keep quiet in here, but Soom Slug sounds hilarious... and now I can just see Soom Slug and Soom Turtle synchronised swimming in the ocean >.<; I too hope the next deities are hideous or something so that I don't want them. I'm already doomed on other dolls; I don't need this too! xD!!!
